On this song, they both played 1972 Ovation Legends. Jim played the tobacco sunburst one and Maury, the blonde spruce one. They toured with the Ovations in the last year of their lives as they were so durable. They survived the plane crash intact.

Jim boy Croce was a beautiful soul, who wrote sensitive emotional lyrics. His songs are so easy and pleasant to listen to. It saddens me to think he was not around to enjoy some fame and recognition , perhaps he already knows and can enjoy it from afar . God Bless Jim x

35 years ago in september I learned a woman in Freiburg/Germany. 6 month later I lost her. In this time I heard Jim Croce often. Now every year in autum I hear this song and it brings back memory. Because the relationship was a "lover`s cross".
