He's not very popular on youtube. Maybe he wasn't ever that good.
Popularity and critical acclaim are entirely different and usually don't intertwine. Many of the most celebrated artists among critics and musicians weren't popular during their day nor in retrospect. In the case of Costello, his albums certainly pale in popularity compared to other artists of his generation though nonetheless remain celebration as highly significant new wave releases not least including "This Year's Model" that was included on the lists of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever (Q Magazine) and The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
I can't say I'm much of a Costello fan personally, though you can't deny that he came into his own style while maintaining a discography both prolific and largely of great quality which very few artists have been able to accomplish.

When I got my first job, I came home from my first shift and my dad was blasting this song and laughing his ass off. Good times.
Ha! Elvis is great from the start. If the elites would just do the jobs we;ve done-putting 45 lb. boxes of wine on a palette all day till your so sore you don't give a damn- mopping an emormous tile floor when it's 90 plus degrees sweating like a pig- Anyway, Elvis exposed some deep truths on this album that no one did before.
