Haven't heard this in ages. It was the first song I heard this morning when I hopped in my truck. Opening riff always reminded me of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I miss the 90's

This was my introduction to COC. At 15yrs old, made quite the impression on my formative metal mind. Southern Fried Sabbath. Fly on Reed 🤘🤘🤘

i always loved the sound of this album. i once owned a ludwig maple snare that reed used on this tour or the one after. i got it from my old boss who worked with reed. he hit HARD, the inner plies were delaminating. fly on reed...

I love this slow groove, very few bands are able to pull that off!

To me this is one of the true Grunge sound along with Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Gruntruck, My Sister’s Machine, Skin Yard, Screaming Trees, Mad Season and Temple Of The Dog. I know Corrosion have been all over the place with their music like starting as a Hardcore Punk/Crossover Thrash band and then became a Groove Metal and Stoner Rock band, but to me Albatross is as Grunge as it gets. To me Grunge was a late 80’s and early 90’s evolution of 70’s bluesy Hard Rock and early Metal of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Deep Purple. 

I don’t think Nirvana was ever truly a Grunge band because they were too Punk influenced to be Grunge, and imo Grunge has absolutely nothing to do with Punk. While Nirvana do have elements of that 70’s bluesy Hard Rock sound, they are also very Punk influenced.

These guys are one of my all time favorite bands. Reed Mullin is one of the reasons I started playing drums 20 years ago. Punk, Jazz, Metal, Classic Rock. He could play any style with style. And then I met him a few years back in AZ and got to tell him myself. He was so cool he gave me his phone number!! I’m so saddened by his passing. In my opinion he is one of the greatest drummers of all time. R.I.P. Reed. We will miss you brother!

RIP Reed Mullin, a true inspiration for my own drumming since the late 80s. hurts more than the late great Mr. Peart because you were closer to home, i.e., a punk that cared and was always down to earth. saw COC only four times- twice when they played in Mexico City back in 92, with the 'Blind' line-up. a hundred people the firts night, forty or less the second. that second night, Reed was at the box office. quite a few punks were hanging outside, complaining about the ticket price. I was paying my own admission so he asked me about it, i translated the pesos price to dollars, and he said, 'Oh man, it's a bit steep. Please tell them that to help out with whatevr money they've got and they can go in'. and so it was: about fifteen punks got tickets for the price of one! nice. later on (or was it before?), i saw COC open up for Testament and Maiden in L.A. they played for only 30 minutes but the rocked hard and sounded clearer and louder than fuckin' Maiden. i must've been the only one cheering for them in an outdoors arena with a 10,000 capacity. and six years ago they returned as a powerful hardcore trio to Mexico City, again they ruled. So here's to you, Mr. Mullin. Fly on, Albatross!
