Coral, The - Spanish Main Lyrics

Dave Francis here and here's my Review for all the Unreleased Songs from "The Corals" latest Album "Move Through The Dawn." Let me say that this album is a major grower, but once it hits you it's like a titlewave that will absolutely blow you away as its simply STUNNING.. Please continue to read below.

"He's a Runaway," is a possible contender for the next single with a nice distorted solo guitar part and wonderful harmonies.. Reaching Out For A Friend," is a very upbeat fun type of song and I like it but if you like guitar solos you are not going to find any here.. This song sounds very much like the Coral being influenced by the Beach Boys and possibly the Super Furry Animals along with Abba.. Yes! I said I hear Abba influences on this album lol.. Strangers In The Hollow is so Abba influenced for me, as it sounds like a brilliant 2018 update of a 1970's tune with brilliant lyrics.. This is a very strong contender for a single.. Maybe it's just me but am I the only one hearing Abba on these two songs? LOL.

The songs are not as immediate as the songs on "The Butterfly House album," but they're forsure, growers "Big Time.".

"Eyes of the Moon," is one of my favorite songs lyrically and this song would of fit perfectly on the album "Magic and Medicine." This is another strong contender for a single release, "Simply Stunning.". Undercover Of The Night," is another very strong contender for a single another stunning song which has really grown on me.. These songs are much stronger than the earlier singles released but that's my opinion and I guess the released singles are very short which suits for
better airtime or more radio play.. "Stormbreaker," is another very strong song and is getting better with every listen and this song you'll be happy to know has a killer guitar solo which drags the song out to the end very successfully but you'll need a 5 to 6 listens for it to hit you.. "Love or Solution," is getting better with each listen another quality song from this much improved album in regards to their last album, which was ok but not brilliant in my opinion.

The released singles are very good quality, short but sweet with "Eye's Like Pearls," being razor sharp with crystal clear sounds beaming light reflections from the sun. (The images I get when listening to this song) LOL..
The video to go with it is also very good quality as I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to end.

"Sweet Release," is another good quality short but sweet single with a brilliant video of which I found very entertaining.. This is another very upbeat song which, "very strangely," gives me visions of "Sesame Street," brown paper bag for face characters getting ready to do a show for the kids is the vision I get from this lol..

And "After the Fair," is just a stunning song lyrically and the music with it is like a summer breeze as one exits through the back door making his/her way down to the fair by the sea...

This album just keeps getting better and better with each listen and I must confess that I've now changed my view on it from first and second listens as I now think its SIMPLY STUNNING .. For me its getting back to the quality that was produced on "The Butterfly House." And I've made myself eat my own words lol.. This is a vast improvement on the last album in my own opinion.. @terry stevens Yes I know they are British. My comment was that in the States with our bad choices in music, this was a knockout. As for the vocals, I mean that it's a "soul sound" as in American blues and jazz

Yes, The Coral revived the guitar bands and brought pride back to GB and Merseyside. At the same time sea shanties are, earthcem mediano meant to sound like labour songs, slave or otherwise. It's was n world wide tradition to get labour to work in union and often improve their spirits. This song does nothing for me, I far prefer The La's Liberty Ship as an ocean song and the meaning of the lyrics, quite deep and well written.

The greatest album no one ever heard of! Buy it today...This is some great American soul vocals.
