Contours, The - Funny Lyrics

Funny though it may seem
By the way, you look at me

You just don't know
How deep my love
You are my everything
You realize my dream

In my dreams I find
You should believe
Oh funny

Open, open up your heart
I should have been right from the start
You came to me like an angel from above
Oh, come to me, come to me, give me your love

Funny though it may seem
By the way, you look at me

You just, you just don't know
How deep my love
I say, you just, you just don't know
How live long your love love love
I say
You just, you just don't know
How you love goes

Motown doo-wop is fascinating - usually a bit out of the standard stock patterns, but when it works - like this does - magic happens. Thanks for posting!

  3. P.... G....

Is this the same group that did,,"Do You Love Me" (1962) "

  4. P.... N....

  6. L.... D....

    ANOTHER GREAT ONE TYVM

  7. B.... L....

Not a clue. But I see there is a partial writing credit given to B. Gordon. Think that's a typo for B. Gordy? BTW, this is a great sound! - worthy of early Motown.

  8. B.... M....

Great Ballad From A Group Not Known For Doing Ballads. One Of The Better DooWop Recordings From Legendary Motown Records.

  9. M.... P....

This song was taken from the LP "Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)" on the Gordy label in 1962. The album features the hit single which was the title track, plus many others from that album.

One of the first groups to sign with MoTown in very early 60's.  Never heard this one before but "Do you Love me" was a huge hit for them!  This is a rare cut, thanx for posting!

  25. d.... ....

is this same group did cool jerk?

    d.... ....

No, this is the same group that did "Do You Love Me?" The Capitols, a non-Motown Detroit group (but with Motown backup musicians) did "Cool Jerk."
