Connick, Jr., Harry - My Blue Heaven Lyrics
When whippoorwills call and evening is nigh,
I hurry to my Blue Heaven.
A turn to the right, a little white light,
Will lead me to my Blue Heaven.
A little nest that nestles where the roses bloom;
Just Jilly and me, and baby makes three,
We're happy in my Blue Heaven.
You know I'm gonna see a smiling face, a fireplace, a cozy room,
A little nest that nestles where the roses bloom;
Just Jilly and me, and baby makes three,
We're happy in my Blue Heaven.

Connick, Jr., Harry My Blue Heaven Comments
Harry just keeps getting better.
I have two favorite versions of this tune from 1927:
Fats Domino's version, and this one.
(Both New Orleans Boys, natch.)
I think that it was extremely clever of Connick (or his arranger) to lift the groove for this version of this chestnut from Martin Denny's immensely popular (at one time) "Quiet Village:"

The only other such appropriation of it which I can recall is the opening moment of the "PeeWee's Playhouse" theme.
