Cole, Nat King - Why Should I Cry Over You? Lyrics
[Brackets indicate choir in background]
(I don't why I should cry over you?)
Sigh over you? Even be blue?
I should have known that you'd leave me alone
Although you have left me alone to pine
And all of my love was a waste of time
Someday your heart will be broken like mine
So why should I cry over you?
(Although you have left me alone to pine)
And all of my love was a waste of time
Someday your heart will be broken like mine
So why should I cry over you?

STRAIGHT TO THE HEART! KEEP 'EM COMING, terracite!
Another great sentimental ballad.
Never heard this one before. Great song as only Nat can sing it. Anyone have Nat singing RETURN TO ME ... he did do that DINO SONG years ago, I remember him singing it, too ... but can't find it ... would love to hear it ... applause, thank you for the post and for sharing your story about your father (touching) ... :)
My father recorded this same song with Ace Brigode and His Virginians on Januray 23, 1940, at the age of 20 years old. He sang in the band as he attended The Unversity of Illinois. He left the band in 1942, married my mother then enlisted in the Navy during WW2. My parents celebrated 61 years of marriage when Dad passed away on August 8, 2003. I am hoping to post this song and the flip side single, "Why Don't You Leave Me Alone?" on You Tube. Maybe by tomorrow, Father's Day? I hope so!
