Coheed And Cambria - Iron Fist Lyrics
The wish you plead and the things you sought
We all think, we all thought
The things I've done, in the world I've seen,
Don't measure up to you my queen
Oh, I take one for the other, and work my way through this machine
God damn this cursed iron fist
When I lose control
Oh no
God damn this cursed iron fist
When I lose control
Oh no
The first train's out while the last one drones
We'll all sing; "We're going home"
As the curtain swings in to cover all, our secrets kept, our love enough
God damn this cursed iron fist
When I lose control
Give me the strength I know, and please believe me
Oh girl, this is what I've become
And I'm going to leave it up to you
What are you going to do?
Cause I don't want to lose your hold on me
Cause I don't want to lose your hold on me
God damn this cursed iron fist
When I lose control
Oh, give me the doubt oh no, please believe
Oh girl, this is what I've become
And I'm going to leave it up to you
What are you, what are you
Just remember
Pay no attention to this iron... this iron fist
Just remember
Pay no attention to this iron... oh this iron fist
This iron... this iron fist
God damn... this cursed...
God damn... this cursed...
God damn...

Coheed And Cambria Iron Fist Comments
still jamming this in 2019! going into 2020
AUGUST 2019, ''FEELS'' didn't change one bit.
Gosh darn I really love these guys.
this was 8 years ago. holy fuck
both are really good guitarist!
This video needs Josh making silly faces playing the beats on a cajon. And yes I know he wasn't there :p
This Song means So much ! All of my mistakes that I've made. Working on myself is priority for 2019
They play and sing better live / acoustic
This acoustic set is, yet once again, a proof of Coheed's amazing talent. How they can get you from rocking and screaming to chill and relax on the same album is unbelievable. Thanks for all guys!
I was 4 years too late. This goes out to the True Queen of my life....M
one of my fav songs and recordings!
34 people need to be punched in the face with a goddamn iron fist.
Damn, this version is pure gold.
who ever is working the camera needs to be hit for fading and making distorted
Seth Rogan is really good at guitar.
what a magical performance.. true children of the fence
This is an extremely strong song and one of my favorite from C&C. Listening to this, I can't help but think that with a slight lyric change, you could do an amazing song for "Game of Thrones". This could be Rhaegar's song to Lyanna. If would fit just perfect.
is this about domestic violence?
Domestic violence isn't cool...fuck that static
Could of swore it was about heroine addiction.. don't quote me on that for sure though.
Nope. Not heroin either.
what the hell is this song about?
Sirius Amory looking back on his life and regretting all he lost with Meri.
I agree I like this way better !! more melodic
beautiful talented fucker
HOLT SHIT THE OTHER GUITARIST LOOKS LIKE THE SUPER MEAT BOY CREATOR
For some strange reason I kept thinking this song was off of Black Rainbow. This is straight up off Afterman. Crazy how songs can stick around. Afterman released in 2014, this sung in 2011. Dammit I love this band.
This version is just so much better than the studio version.
Agreed, I feel like something was lost in the studio recording. There's something about the rawness of it here.
I'd agree if we could add Josh on a cajon making amazing faces. But on the album when he says "pay no attention toooooo this iron, this iron fist" is way more satisfying to hear :p
Goddammit I just want tabs for Travis' parts :(

@Eric Silverperson I've learned it already but thank you!
Thank you, Sir. Just what I was looking for \w/,
this acoustic set is what got me through 2012
Yes Sir
Five effing years
I listen every day, and I still think my phone is ringing around 2:10
Iimagine my surprise when I'm watching Motörhead cover versions of their song Iron Fist on youtube and find this....
I lolled so hard I snorted when I read this =D for real...but than again I still may not fully understand this comment....cuz lets be real we all want this to be the original =D <3 <3
Lol you ended up in a better place :p
This was 2 years before the album actually came out. What?
Considering his songs complement his comic book series, its plausible.
Sometimes songs don't make it to an album, and it easily could have had to do with the story line.
This and Sentry came out way before the albums. You should watch his acoustic Sentry the Defiant video.
Best song from Descension.
This version maybe
G i was about to say this
Can't believe how fast 4 years goes by
+Aaron T So true
It's 6 years now
@Jonathan Pasagui 7
Reading this comment for the first time four years later.
C&C will always be a part of my life <3 and my one year old daughter is already headbanging to their songs :))
And my son is 9 😀 way before he was born he would listen 😊
My daughters name is Kambria!
@Traci Howey thats awesome. Based on Coheed or ,? A weird coincidence
Holy fuck this is too good. Can't believe I'm just now discovering some of C&C's stuff...better late then never I guess.
http://www.cobaltandcalcium.com
Same here, but i discovered in december. Best decision ever
@João Gabriel Silva de Avellar welcome to the fence brotha
wow you fucking normie, you're not allowed to listen to my music get out
A girl at work just turned me on to these guys! Fuckin' awesome! Gonna have to listen to every album now... truly amazing. Love me some CAC
I wish they would do an acoustic tour like The Academy Is... did and come to Memphis. it would be so awesome
During SSTB Neverender tour, the first third of the show was all acoustic sets.
Great song! Great band! Can't wait to see them for the 5th time this summer!
Anyone else her the phone ringing at around 2:11?
+Craig Capron my father has the same ringtone ,I thought it was here
One of my favorite live coheed moments is when they played this song acoustic during the second stage turbine neverender tour. And Pearl of the Stars.
I swear this song will never get old! I love it!!!!!!
So...does anyone else feel a most familiar wetness in their pants?
AxisXIViral not at all
When do they write a companion song about Luke Cage - Power Man?
this song makes me think of Sabretooth
@Jeff Taargus It's a great song.
DanR67 it makes me think of coheed or Cambria in amory Wars
Acoustic CO&CA is best CO&CA...had to change my pants 5 times already haven't even made it to the second chorus
They played this 2 years before it was released
The world seems a wee bit more magical with this song playing.
Damn! God ! This is so funking stellar
Brutal!!!!
I didn't know brutal is now being used as a good thing...
4:40 Goddamn! (Pun intended)
Claudio's voice keeps sounding better and better, I'm actually finding myself liking a lot of the unplugged song versions more than the album ones. Also, anyone else hear the phone ring at 2:12?
Probably started getting better when he stopped smoking.
Rudra Chakraborty I agree!! seems more passionate
This makes me want to pick up an acoustic guitar.
well...its been 3 years...did you pick one up? and if not....why not?
DJSchmitty after five years have you had a chance to pickup that god damn cursed acoustic guitar???
old school dial phone sound too
Another adding factor to why I wish Coheed would make an acoustic album.
This isn't a romantic song genius..
True !! ;-)
well then you probably shouldn't click on a video that has "coheed and cambria" in the title...
WTF !!! I was looking for an acoustic version of MOTÖRHEADS Iron Fist.
near the end i can say that claudios voice is a little bit more powerful in the studio version which made it one of my favorites
SO MUCH WIN!
If you let your shitty phone ring in the presence of Claudio Motherfucking Sanchez performing "Iron Fist" acoustically, you should be publicly executed and your heart frozen in a plexiglass cube as a gift to Mr. Sanchez for the interruption.
2:11 flippin phone ringing
wait not and fear not...my friend God be with you in your goals
Listen to the acoustic versions of ANY their songs. They're almost always better. I love Coheed, but something about their acoustic sets just transforms each song into something even more emotionally-charged. They almost become new songs.
Do it bro, you only live once.
So much memories. :(
my exact thoughts when i first heard the album version.if they kept this song acoustic on the album,it would be the most powerful song and coheed didn't want that.the focus point was more on gravity's union hence why it's in the middle of the album
I prefer the acoustic demo version, and then album version... But this is so calm, it's beautiful too :]
I did! :D
Love Claudio's voice towards the end. Chills
Thank you! I really don't understand how anyone could ever bag on this wonderful band. Their songs tell an epic story, and with every album it just builds onto the amazingness that is the Heaven's Fence universe.
Es espectacular, el talento es increíble, Coheed seguirá siendo una increíble banda, y será una leyenda para la eternidad
i actually almost started clapping at the end of the video
Descension version is incredible. This is also incredible. I love their acoustic/demo versions because it's a different side of the same coin. Double the listening pleasure!
Absolutely love this performance anyone who could edit that out and make this an MP3 would be a god. The version that's on Descension is much to "studio perfect" for my liking...
The album version is amazing as well. It's just this is far too good so anything else would seem bad compared to it :)
The ringing phone always gets me -__-
Yes but the world would be 2% less good without that incredible upright (I'm guessing) bass track and the percussion is brilliant. Two different and amazing versions - I have trouble deciding which to fire up.
Can anyone tab out that last piece of the solo before he goes to the final chorus? My ear just isn't good enough. I would be most appreciative!
You can get the demo version that's just the guitar and Claudio singing, Basically the same as this.
I wish they wouldn't have over-edited it like they did on the album. :/
Wolvestune hahaa I sang it
GOd i loved this..
After he did his epic little solo rift there, did anyone else think the Ba-da-da-dop-ba-da-da-da-daoao while he was singing lol
just love this song. damn
agreed !
holy shit the acoustic version is amazing Claudio delivers.... one of my faves on Descension. what a great double album story these guys have made. guys sit back you are witnessing one of the most progressive bands in a long time. Coheed never fails. its all about chasing new sounds and ideas but having the spirit of the band. so far they have not let me down. coheed4life.
I plead the 5th ;)
how do you feel now? lol
I honestly believe the album version is great in its own way. Given the fact that I did listen to that one before this one but that's besides the point. This song rules no matter what form it takes
The emotion and passion in his singing, especially live, is just incredible!
no kidding eh, they dropped the ball on that one.
I'm so sorry....
Justin, I agree that the album version isnt quite as good as this version. But if you think about it.. this version just wouldnt quite fit with the rest of the songs on the album. Listening to the album as a whole, the studio version fits. They had to tweak the song to fit with the rest, i suppose. Unfortunate. BUT, we can find solace in the fact that they now have a beautiful acoustic song to play at their shows.
I bought the album from Best Buy and it came with three bonus songs, in which song 10 being the Iron Fist acoustic. Can't stop listening to it! :]
Way better then the Descension version.
Recognize one of your own kind?
The studio version is amazing. Haters gonna hate. It's one of the best tracks on Descension. Just stop arguing and fuckin' enjoy the music. Acoustic or not.
I agree entirely honestly. The album version isnt bad, but this version is absolutely perfect. They should have kept it acoustic.
Or we are the ones who preordered the deluxe set and are too excited to wait having a blank cd taunting us in the face and reading all the lyrics and back story. stfu.
Yeah, this version and the live version they played at SSTB is better than the album version. I am disappointed in the album version, it sounds to Prize Fighter~ish. I like PFI, just not when I want Coheed. I was really looking forward to this song.
Hate to say it, but this version is so much more vulnerable and moving. The studio version is just so overproudced. Ending isn't the same either :( Oh well.
I hate to agree with those of you who had already heard it (album version).... they ruined a beautiful song.
