Cocteau Twins - I Wear Your Ring Lyrics

You don't feel damned between the sunrise and sunset
You're damned well panicky, I know the rainy days
Please them or run on the turf

You could be raising money with your momma
You might be showing you're round
And dressed up with kid
Take a toast to that, imbibe, you're alone

Men are so nice
Lays can be
Roses may fly
Men are so useful
He's a flirt
Men are so useful
Reflection beauty
Men are so nice
He pleases me fine
Reflection beauty
Men are so useful

Be able to feel
Don't feel damned between the sunrise and sunset
You're damned well panicky, I know the rainy days
Please them or run on the turf

You could be
You could be raising money with your momma
You could be
You might be showing you're round
And dressed up with kid
Take a toast to that, imbibe, you're alone

Men are so nice
Lays can be
He pleases me fine
Men are so useful
He's a flirt
Men are so useful
Reflection beauty
Men are so nice
He pleases me fine
Reflection beauty
Men are so useful

Beautiful hands us no way lies a means of love
Men are so nice
On sounds and guard the stone, and bed had a law
He pleases me fine
Answers written and I reason
He pleases me fine
In the reign of sex, blown more than it's pleased to be
Fine, fine
Fine, fine
Fine, fine
Fine, fine
He's a beauty affection, oooh
He's a beauty affection, oooh
He's a beauty affection, oooh

    Magic Times.

Ta muzyka to początek i koniec. To miłość o poranku i zachodzie słońca. To tęsknota i miłość za czymś czego nie znamy a kochamy ponad wszystko.

After listening to thousands of brilliant songs by amazing song writers and performers across many genres over several decades, this to me remains the best and most emotionally inspiring I have had the incredible privilege to experience. I tend to well with tears of happiness almost every time I listen, and can’t help but feel an incredibly deep love for Liz and CT, and their remarkable music talent. This is so subjective, of course. Does anyone else agree? Let’s hope other bands can aspire to create music and albums to the amazing standards of Heaven or Las Vegas. I suspect the secret is to have no fear to delve as deep as you possibly can into your musical talents without fear of failure or slaver to current fads, and to back yourselves if you think you have created something amazing. And if you are ever fortunate enough to collaborate with someone with Liz’s vocal talent, aspire to create songs like “I Wear Your Ring “ and hopefully allow that voice to express its potential.

''I wear your ring'' is the song that makes me dream about my twin flame. ''Fotzepolitic'' is the one that reminds me of my dreams and of never giving up on them (like seeing a free Scotland and eventually moving to Scotland myself, for instance). ''Road, River and Rail'' is the one that connects me back to the ancestors, and so on and so on... I will forever be a Portuguese born woman with a Scottish soul, and my gratitude to this band knows no limits!

  21. A.... ....

    Septembre 1990.

    A.... ....

    I was 7

  22. D.... G....

    Incredible

  23. e.... ....

One of their best. I love the structure. Gorgeous song.

  24. P.... M....

The best outro of any song ever written.

  25. N.... S....

'really it's just a terrible song' 'they are singing gibberish' 'what a stain on music' - fu

    N.... S....

@minipoly sorry minipoly, that was irony/satire, i was responding to someone(s) who suggested those type of sentiments across the comments, maybe not even on this video. i was doing the whole be trashed and relive the cocteau twins and feel how good their music is, and remember. so my comment was in response to people who say those sorts of things about the music, thus the quotes. the fu was to people who say that.

    N.... S....

@minipoly on this friday night amidst all of the world's problems, good to have some agreement; & wish you well

    N.... S....

@minipoly your tone deaf mate give up listening to music if i was you

  26. H.... ....

    Fina fina fina fine

  27. P.... C....

I would love to watch them write and record this track...like...where does it come from?....how?....amazing...

  28. M.... ....

God! This still sounds so epic!

  29. A.... P....

mad ... some super pop synth washed vocal whirlpool sublime ..

    A.... P....

    No synth.

  30. S.... M....

I have no issue about the lyrics being hard to understand, Liz could sing the menu from my local chinese along to this and it would still rip me apart.

    S.... M....

if you actually want chinese cocteau twins look up the group's collaborations with Faye Wong, gorgeous stuff

    S.... M....

Liz lyrics are no chinese at all but anyway... 😂😂 about the "hard to understand" side of them, well just remember it's (almost) all about surrealism when it comes to heavenly pop songs.

    S.... M....

"You could be reason Monday with your Mother..." possibly....

  31. M.... ....

"beautiful hands of snow and ice" ?

    M.... ....

    goosebumps at that transition!

  32. B.... D....

    Very Nice

  33. m.... ....

is like she’s singing in a alien language

    m.... ....

it’s not a language as much as it is a verbal commitment to communicate magically nonstop through vibrational iterations

    m.... ....

Yo she uses English but for other stanzas she takes from various language’s dictionaries. It’s astounding.

  34. J.... R....

So did Liz let the "therapist" drive a wedge between her and Robin? Maybe she became self-absorbed in her victim's mentality and his shortcomings with the drug habit. Then they broke up yet stayed together in the band. He moved on and by the time they were to record the album that never was, he had some other gal showing up at the studio. She couldn't handle it because by then she had worked through some of her issues but 'the bird had flown' and hence her nervous breakdown....
    Just a working theory....
If any lesson comes from it, don't let some egghead psychologist sow doubts in your mind. They can be insidious. Be careful who you give power to in your life.

    J.... R....

I wish I could talk to Elizabeth Fraser and just like... see what really was going on. It's fucking damaging to have someone you love and who you are dedicated to spiral into an addiction and then when they finally come out they become unfaithful. Like that really has to do some shit to you. Were you only bearable to him when he was on drugs? Did he even love you? Were you being used? And then you have this child with him and you think ah yes this is the thing that will bring him back to me. But it doesn't happen. Fraser went through a lot. Guthrie may have been a musical savant, but fuck was he a complete selfish waste of time and space.

    J.... R....

No, that's not what went down at all. Don't listen to this shit.
    The OP is retarded.

    J.... R....

you can take your working theory and bury it at the stone of a grave, you know better

  35. N.... ....

Believe it or not they jumped on that Japanese flavored dream pop and took it to a higher meso sopranic level. Nice....

    N.... ....

More like the Japanese jumped on the CTs shoegaze/dream pop and commercialised it for their home market. Just my own view.

  36. C.... K....

Elisabeth Fraser has one of the clearest voices, so pure!!!! everything she sings is PERFECTION!!!

    C.... K....

One of the clearest voices and most incomprehensible accents, haha. I still can't stop listening even when I don't have the slightest idea what a song is about though!

  37. Q.... L....

This song has one of the best endings I've ever heard

    Q.... L....

Quintin Lohman Same with Honey Power by my bloody valentine

    Q.... L....

Yeah the ad at the end is pretty good!

  38. K.... G....

who the fuck thinks of harmonies like this..... sounds like another realm

  39. O.... L....

    still...nothing comes close

  40. H.... ....

Oh my Goddess! The beginning of this song was influenced by The Original Sound of Ibiza by Alfredo, the de facto creator of techno -- gorgeous!

  41. j.... ....

    I love that transition at 2:28. ❤️

    j.... ....

johnnynny94 Me too. It's my favourite part.

    j.... ....

    !!!!!!!!siiiii best part (L)

    j.... ....

@Paul Metzger I love this comment...

  42. L.... L....

I love listening to songs you haven't heard in 15 years and they still amaze you! Just the sound of her voice!

    L.... L....

L L Her range is incredible. Just beautiful to listen to. Truly her voice is one of a kind.

  43. J.... W....
