Cocker, Joe - Let's Go Get Stoned Lyrics

Let's go get stoned
Let's go get stoned
When your baby won't let you in
Got a few pennies, a bottle of gin
Just call your buddy on the telephone
Let's go get stoned

Let's go get stoned
Let's go get stoned
When you work so hard all the day long
And everything you do seems to go wrong
Just drop by my place on your way home
Let's go get stoned

It ain't no harm
You're takin just a taste
But don't blow your cool
and start messing up the place
It ain't no harm you're faking just a nip
But make sure you don't fall down bust your lip
Let's go get stoned
Let's go get stoned

Some of these comments.... “I don’t understand it.” “Not his best performance.” Are y’all robots? Is it the modern times and modern music that’s brainwashed everyone? If it wasn’t for musicians like this guy, you millennials wouldn’t have the music you have today. I know you guys are going to argue with that statement, but I’m ready... bring your argument, guarantee you won’t win this one. Let me ask you this, do you guys feel anything? Do you guys know The meaning of the blues? Most of the younger generation does not, and never will. It’s bittersweet really. I wish no harm upon anyway, but if you’ve experienced true life in any way, shape, or form... This song, this music, this style, Joe’s movement, this feeling...would be understood.

So much better than the bloated Mad Dogs and Englishmen performances. He was at his vocal peak and the grease band were at there's. Control, dynamics, light and shade - so much passion here. Band and vocalist in perfect harmony. And the best version of With a little help from my friends he ever did. Props to the engineers who captured such a great sound in the mayhem.

Saw this guy about 10 years ago. My mom forced me to go to his concert. Watching this now, at the time he was probably 4 years older than i am currently, he was an old man when i saw him and i didn't appreciate it cuz i was 14 years old. His voice here, was so natural, so beautiful, sounds like a recording, no effort needed! RIP dude, I'll miss you. With little help from my friends. I listened to that song in seventh grade from the bus ride to school on my ipod shuffle!

I know I see texas cowboy boots all the time In Dallas ft worth but for 1969 his American flag cowboy boots were something not to many people had . Even famous musicians. There where expensive and definitely tailored for him specifically. Not a walmart rollback. A lot of his movements and the actual way he sang and performed was due to him have a neurological disorder . Teretsyndrome. And no made him able to sing and perform for audiences when he got the twitch it just started becoming a part of his music . He says he thought he sounded better when he let the teretsyndrome just take over and go with his music. Way different from anybody you've ever heard . A blessing to be remembered by such an awesome group of people in a great time in history. No one will ever forget Woodstock 1969.
