Clemmons, Riley - The First Christmas Lyrics

On the first Christmas
When all was at peace
The light of the world
In a manger asleep
For unto us a child has come
The thrill of new hope
Where fears are undone

So help me find again the wonder I have known
I want to see the star and let it guide me home
Oh the miracle of heaven
God is here with us
Help me believe again
Like it’s the first Christmas

On the first Christmas
When I was a child
Dreaming of presents and of reindeer that fly
A world of excitement never lost in the noise
A story of love
The simplest of joys

Noel, noel, noel, noel
Born is the King of Israel
Noel, noel, noel, noel
Born is the King of Israel

Make this the first Christmas
That I won’t forget
To open my eyes and see it again

  14. L.... G....

I love your music but Christmas is a Pagan holiday this is what our Lord and savior says about Christmas and other pagan holidays.
    Jeremiah 10:1-5 ESV
Hear the word that the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel. Thus says the Lord: “Learn not the way of the nations, nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens because the nations are dismayed at them, for the customs of the peoples are vanity. A tree from the forest is cut down and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman. They decorate it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move. Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field, and they cannot speak; they have to be carried, for they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”

    L.... G....

Nothing she's singing points to paganism. She's glorifying God and retelling the birth and character of Christ through music.

    L.... G....

That's true but you can JUST CELEBRATE JESUS' BIRTH. Just celebrate that He came down from heaven to save all of us. Important note, Jesus wasn't born on December 25. In fact, a child of King Niemrod and Tamar was born on dec 25. And, that time they kill new born babies and they decorate their trees with the baby's heads. So, in the present the christmas balls and decorations represent the baby's heads which is evil. But, the good thing is WE CELEBRATE NOT CHRISTMAS, BUT JESUS' BIRTH. You know the very factual thing is Everyday is a day to celebrate Jesus' birth😀😀

Puking Dino The acronym “omg” stand for Oh My god. I am aware of that, just as every person on the planet is. I still don’t see how changing the word into goodness is blasphemy if you do not mean it in an offensive way to God. And, woah, buddy, where do you get the idea that I blasphemy the Lord’s name? I am not defending blasphemy, she could have meant it innocently without you saying that. Then attacking us with a million exclamation points. Like jeez that’s a lot.
Plus, even if she meant it in a different way, it gives you no right to speak like this. What type of person who follows the main law of “Love God And Love People” tells them they need help in that way. I was just saying it as I was trying to inform you about how oh my gosh is not blasphemous if you do not mean it in a bad way. God knows your heart, which means he knows your intentions, and if they are not bad, he knows that. But you, on the other hand do not.

    S.... m....

    @Christian Bear

    Hear me out,

I am not debating with you to win an argument. I am not trying to 'out write' you either by writing so much. Instead, I am taking the time to do this because I want you to be informed. I have broken down your reply in segments so you can further understand in detail what I am attempting to divulge to you. I do not hate you, I am NOT your enemy! I am your brother! But I am sick and tired of the church using "OMG" when it is blasphemy! Whether or not they know it is blasphemy makes no difference. But we all need to be informed so this "OMG" epidemic ceases immediately. Why not take a chill pill as I had to, and read on.

    Regarding your reply:

"The acronym “omg” stand for Oh My god."

-That is also incorrect. The "OMG" acronym stands for "Oh My God." Capital "G." Lowercase "g" is used in reference to the false gods of the nations. The definition and meaning of "OMG" IS taking God's name in vain.

"...just as every person on the planet is."

Don't be ridiculous and don't exaggerate this. You were not aware, nor was the original commenter. But now that you know, heed the words of scripture:

    Romans 6:1-2
"What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?"

"I still don’t see how changing the word into goodness is blasphemy if you do not mean it in an offensive way to God"

-The "G" in "OMG" does not mean "Goodness," nor does it mean "Gosh," or anything else. You know what it means, you are now aware, and you need to inform other believers who do the same. If you wish to say "Oh My Goodness," then say "Oh My Goodness." Do not use the "OMG" acronym.

"And, woah, buddy, where do you get the idea that I blasphemy the Lord’s name?"

-By the fact that you continue to say and defend the blaspheme of the LORD's (all capitals means Yahweh) name when you say "OMG."

    "I am not defending blasphemy,..."

-Yes, you are. That is exactly what you are doing. You continue to attempt to justify an acronym that is blasphemy in an obstinate and disobedient way and without remorse. I believe you are doing so for the sake of arguing because you refuse to be corrected, regardless if it is done in kindness or is strict. This is because you wish to continue to use God's name in vain because you value a blasphemous acronym over His holy name.

"...she could have meant it innocently..."

Scripture states clearly that at the Bema seat judgment (the judgement for believers, not the Great White Throne judgement for the damned) that though we are not under condemnation, we will still give an account for "every idol word we speak" (Matthew 12:36). Therefore, there are no "innocent" words. But now that you are aware, as Jesus said in John 8:11, "Go and sin no more."

"Then attacking us with a million exclamation points. Like jeez that’s a lot."

-Again you are exaggerating. It's unnecessary. And it is also irrelevant. If exclamation points trigger you and perhaps you feel you need a "safe space," I have no other way of saying this other than "grow up." Harsh, but necessary.

"Plus, even if she meant it in a different way, it gives you no right to speak like this."

-You are offended when corrected about not using God's name in vain? That's unfortunate. But no one should stand idly by why the culture, primarily our youth, continues to use an acronym that is blasphemy. You should be correcting people, not defending blasphemy. There is nothing evil about correcting you. It is to your benefit.

"What type of person who follows the main law of “Love God And Love People” tells them they need help in that way."

-First of all, don't be hypocritical. It was you who rudely stated "we need to help people like this." Secondly, God is holy. His name is holy. He calls you and me to be holy (1 Peter 1:16). Jesus is not some 'love puppy' that tolerates your sin just because you have been justified according to the law and are no longer under His wrath or condemnation. He HATES sin! He HATES the sin in our lives, and calls us to be holy and turn from it. To continue to sin even after one has been given the knowledge of the truth brings into question the genuine salvation of many in the church, because the leaders of the church have been failing us, they've been failing you. You seem to be parroting the same message over and over, such that "God is only love" while neglecting the fact that He is holy, He is just, and He is judge! The church needs to repent of this soft, false message and return to the foundations of both grace and mercy, not just grace. It is a travesty that youth such as yourself are constantly told a watered down version of the truth. The God of the Old Testament is still the God of the New Testament. He hates sin so much that He blotted out every land dwelling, air breathing creating thing from the face of the ground in the flood of Noah's day. That even included the infants of the wicked. Only Noah, his sons, and their wives were spared. That is how much God hates sin. Just look at what He did to Jesus on the cross! He poured out the entirety of His wrath that you and I deserve in the most brutal fashion imaginable. If you think because Jesus died for our sins that He no longer sees our sin, you are wrong. That is not what scripture teaches. If you do not believe me, read the book of Revelation, where the wrath of God will be poured out upon this wicked and depraved world in such severe judgement that the book states the world will have never seen such horror (wording may vary). Jesus is the bringer of this wrath. Remember, God is HOLY, just as He is love.

"I was just saying it as I was trying to inform you about how oh my gosh is not blasphemous if you do not mean it in a bad way."

-Then say or write "Oh My Gosh" instead. Do NOT use the acronym, because it is not defined nor interpreted as anything other than blasphemy. You are now aware of this. All of you are, and so is anyone who reads this. God will hold accountable those who blaspheme His name. So love God, fear God, and tell others the truth! Do not let them walk blind and fall into a pit. That is not what love does.

"God knows your heart, which means he knows your intentions, and if they are not bad, he knows that. But you, on the other hand do not."

-Do you think this somehow excuses your sin or justifies it? You and I are are still held accountable for every idol word as stated in the scriptures and referenced above. Do not be deceived into thinking that God somehow overlooks your blasphemy because He "knows your intentions." This is not what scripture states, not at all. Do you know what God reveals about your heart in scripture? He says in Jeremiah 17:9: "The heart is deceitful above _all things_ , and desperately wicked; who can know it? Therefore do not let your heart, the Devil, or a false gospel deceive you. Instead, read your Bible clearly and find out for yourself, because I assure you that judging by what you have told me here on this thread, the God of the Bible is not the God you have been taught. To believe that God is anything other that who He actually reveals Himself to be through scripture is in violation of the first and second commandments: "1.) You will have no other gods before Me. 2) You will not make for yourself a false god." Believing in what is essentially a 'hippie' Jesus who walks around giving out free hugs is NOT the God of the Bible. May God forgive the church for failing us, and for failing our youth.

    KXRAWHO

    Hopefully you understand now.

    S.... m....

Puking Dino Ok, first, you did not tell me how it was blasphemy, you just kept repeating the same thing. And, every single person on this planet knows that “omg” means “oh my God” and I did not capitalize it, because my phone sucks, so please don’t make a judgement. The whole thing I was trying to say, is that you had no idea what she meant, and yes, she should write it out, but she even told you that she meant “oh, my gosh”. Also, I know scripture. Why does everyone do that? I don’t know how you made that huge assumption about idols, based on a typo, but ok. I am aware of the problem with idols, and we should fight to stop blasphemy. People my not believe what we know to be true, but why target us? With taking the true King’s name in vain. They always use ours, and no other, the false prophet Mohammad is never used as a cuss word, nor the false god “allah”. about “even if she meant it bad, you shouldn’t talk to her like that” you are right, I was tired, and had no idea what point I was trying to get across, but that was not it. (I hope you believe me in that, for it is true) the whole argument is wheather “oh my gosh” is blasphemous, not “omg” because it clearly is. What I was trying to say, is that she may not have meant it by that, and should change her wording, but you accused he of blasphemy that wasn’t intentional. She meant “oh my gosh” and did not realize “omg” doesn’t mean that. I still don’t see how “oh my goodness, or gosh” is blasphemous though. Also, I am not sure what you mean by “the God I was taught” considering I don’t go to church, and learn from the Bible. Everyone who disagrees with me says I have been lied to, but in saying that, you are actually saying God is a lair.

    S.... m....

    KXRAWHO

No thank you for wasting my time.

You are nothing short of the definition of defiant, defensive, ignorant, arrogant, and in denial.

Why am I even speaking with someone such as yourself who doesn’t know the God of the Bible, but has proudly made for herself a comfortable false god by borrowing only some biblical attributes creating a god of your own making who you can cozy up to? All the while you proudly blaspheme the name of the One, true, living God but call Him your King, and reject His Word?

You are like talking to a wall. There are more logical flaws and intentionally deflected arguments in your response than I’ve seen my entire life.

    Good day to you.
