Classics IV - Stormy Lyrics
You were the sunshine, baby, whenever you smiled
But I call you Stormy today
All of a sudden that ole rain's fallin' down
And my world is cloudy and gray
You've gone away
Bring back that sunny day
Yesterday's love was like a warm summer breeze
But, like the weather ya changed
Now things are dreary, baby
And it's windy and cold
And I stand alone in the rain
Callin' your name
Oh Stormy, oh Stormy
Bring back that sunny day
Oh Stormy, oh Stormy
Bring back that sunny day
Bring back that sunny day
Oh Stormy...

This song and The Associations, Windy.. the two girls I wish I could have known. These songs are Ghosts of a memory for me and here this was my parents music. Still, such a Beautiful and Magical time to grow up in.

I love this song and also Traces. Traces is a sad song but I like it anyway
Such a ethereal song, which I guess is why its been covered so many times over the decades since by very good artists, even Santana.
Wowy wow wow !!!!
absolute masterpiece....perfect lyrics that transition the listener from the high and purity of a once love to the aftermath of what's left to lament and yearn for.....take care all, and catch that warm summer breeze while there's time enough!
wish i grew up 1960's
I miss the 60's and 70's. Bring back that sunny day!
This was one of the first songs that ever made me want to pick up a bass guitar. The music stands all on its own here. And Dennis Yost was SO good. Shout out to my mom - missing you tonight.
Always reminded me of a dark and cold winters day in Boston In Mid January, snow falling, wind blowing and dead silence.
OMG! I live in Florida and this was one of my "surf" songs. Brings back the best of memories.
john legend...
It was so great to live in that era!
Five guys=Classics Four. Alright then. This song breaks my heart.
Jazz and pop....and hotwheels
REST IN PEACE.
Still listening to this song thanks guys good memories lol
GREAT SONG......They had alot of good hits back then!
2019 ♡ thank you Pandora for making me discover this gem of a song lol
Classic rock song
Mais um achado, 2019.
One of my all time greatest songs !!
here in the 21st century everything is so ''underrated''...back in the 1960's Classic IV was a huge band, very popular with many hits
This was a Sep. 1968 song (release date), that hit #5 before the end of that STORMY year! That's how you can remember the year it was in. An outstanding song in one of the worst years in U.S. history.
This is one of the coolest songs I've ever heard.
Hear the same main chord as Spooky
So many memories, so many emotions. As the song ends, it's impossible to sort them all out.
Amazing that this sound transmogrified into Atlanta Rhythm Section in the 70s.
Enjoyed + LIKE. Please visit me
My husband and I meet when this song came out he's a r&b singer
He was singing this song
Now 50 year's we're still together and have 2 beautiful children and six grandchildren
Waiting for are great grand baby
💓🎶🎵🎼
Spooky sent me!
The saxophone is the best.
Those years are gone and all that remains are the feelings and vague memories. O)
Another great song from this era. Very cool chords, sax solo, lyrics vocal. Great song.
Classics 4, why is there 5 on the album cover?
According to Wikipedia, it seems that the group's predecessor band The Classics was four people.
After moved to Imperial Records and just before "Spooky" was released, one person joined the group.

Κομματαρα!!!
This music is too slow and plodding. I don’t see the appeal in it.
Just love those vocals. I love the mellow sound of "Oh Stormy, oh Stormy" and then the song peaks with "Bring back that sunny day."
Anything like this TODAY?
As was said this is a much underrated Band. Their soft rock is beautiful i mean Smooth like butter for sure..This should have went number one along with Spooky and Traces..Great Music
There are no voices like this today.
Just as good as "Traces".
smooth as can be.
Great
reminds me of of being a young boy ingrammar school
Such a nice song. It came out right after I turned 14 (in 1968).

Teenage tune that still resonates today.Easy listening, soothing sound.
You were the sunshine that’s true and you were my first love 36 years ago
Loved the Classics IV and Dennis Yost's vocal, my only issue was at the end he drunk so much before performing. Hard to see such a legend turn into a drunk.
Nothing stormy about his singing. It is more like a rainbow!!!
Great songs like this will surely transcend time. Can't get enough of this groups arrangements...
"Stormy" and Traces" were monster hits ...they still are.
....and Spooky
@hoborock007 yes..."Spooky"...I cant forget that one...is also good
Remember my childhood day. So happy to be a kid again.
STORMY from CLASSICS IV, 1968, i´m sorry no 1969
Stormy from CLASSICS IV, 1968 NO 1968
2019 !! I'm still listening to it. Awesome song !
Just great melody.
this song is light years away from it's era.
pure sweetness
I love singing this song. Karaoke version. Awesome song.
Would you classify this as "mod rock" from the 60s? it's nice. what is the bands name?
I think this is appropriate to call it "soft rock"...
Otaku4 (^_^;)
Did these guys also do spooky? I thought they were black guys!
just stumbled on this familiar song when I was a kindergartner listening to 60's oldies on my TV Stingray channel since my local oldies stations stopped playing 60's tunes in 2013.
richard alvarado what do they consider oldies now?
@Aaron Granda usually it's two decades prior to the one we're currently in (90's or prior ) I'm in the Los Angeles area and all of them are playing 90's music now. I expect them to stop playing 70's soon.
richard alvarado oh I see. That sux. I can remember when wls was playing 50s hits, back in the 80s. Of course, they also played r&b and pop songs. I miss that.
richard alvarado I am in Indiana. I lived in Iowa during high school and crackly wls was my go to station for everything from hard rock to Dionne Warwick.
Lovely!
Dennis‘s voice was one in a million-----soft satin rubbed against rough leather ! Nothing better demonstrates that rare combination than this song, esp when he sings ".....bring back that sunny day....." Rare indeed !
🎶 ...bring back that sunny day...🎶🌞
listen to that old school recording equipment....wow!! cool
MY OL NICKNAME.
never gets old.
Classics IV great song
John Legend uses this song rhythm for his "Save Room" song. Sweet!
Brings it all back...
A true classic, miss the hippie generation !
1969 heartbreaker
Awesome jazz guitar beat.
Stormy was a girl who worked at a message parlor in norfolk, 1973, I should know! Doc Mike USN, there's a story there.
Smooth.
Elegance de oro !!!
I remember this song does that mean I old lol
Me like!
As I was driving to work this morning the golden Autumn sun bathed the highways and my car. And the rays came down like a kaleidoscope. I was listening to this song andI had flashbacks of my childhood from the seventies and being with my dad when we used to drive together. I had to call him and tell him and he sang to me this song and the part that I was his sunshine. I held back my weeping but he could hear it in my voice as I thanked him. it's just what I needed to hear from my daddy. Hes 74 and I know the autumn of his life is upon himself and I don't know how many more years I will have left to be able to call him and reminisce like this. Even at 47 I need him.
driving my '60 chevy and listening to this on 77 wabc new york fifty years ago! feels like yesterday! 1969-2019?
