Clapton, Eric - Run Lyrics
Love on my mind, I used to be
Living it up, fancy free,
Then one night it came to an end;
I met that girl and the trouble began.
Something inside of me keeps on telling me to run.
Whatcha gonna do to me?
Something inside of me keeps on telling me to run.
Whatcha gonna do to me?
I was hooked with just one look,
Easy prey, child's play.
I knew this girl was no one night stand;
Felt just like putty in her hands.
Got no answers, got no cure,
But one thing I know for sure:
This is the girl, she's the one.
She makes it so hard for me to run.
[Chorus]
People tell me,
You might as well face it, she's covered all the bases.
You might as well face it, she's covered all the bases.
[Chorus 2x]

Clapton, Eric Run Comments
Even though he has come out and said he doesn't like his music in this way, prefers the blues, but as a devoted crazed fan, I couldn't be happier cuz not only is it great music, it makes me MOVE! So energizing.

All my musical heros are old and kicking off one by one. Who is gonna fill these shoes after all the masters of their instruments have passed on? I think a 100 years from now Clapton will still be listened to. His body of work is huge. He seems so chill even while hes ripping on a solo. Hes had one hell of a life
nice click track ….goes off @4.20.

This was right before he finally got sober in Nov. 1987
awesome Eric Clapton is god
I like 2:25
i like nathan easts pants
Yeah, many feel Clapton's 80's stuff sucked but I actually enjoy every album of the 80's - Money and Cigs thru Journeyman.
A bit commercial here and there sure, WB pushing that sales thing, very big drum machine stuff going on in the mid to late 80's but overall, lots of solid Blues Pop Rock with a dash of Funk in there and it works for me!
Just simply fucking awensome!!!!!
sami miikkulainen amazing track!!! :)
this was his best time
and the Record " August " one of the best Rock Records from the 80´s
love that bass line!
This song was on the August album and got little or no airplay. By far one of his finest songs.
@BigRussOvBs9
you the man ! nathan east rocks ! it's bad that eric replaced him on the tour with winwood, Nathan is so incredible good on bass i think after Bootsie he is number one !
Winwood plays organ, not bass.
@internalpeaceseeker in a sense...eric is a teacher...
clapton is truly timeless
@janhammerrules He's so f'ing powerful, that's for certain!!
SWEET TUNE!! What album is this on?
Ayil FukU Up "August" 1986
one of the most things i like about eric clapton are his era's. the young one with JM&BB, cream. and through the drugs onto the era of cocaine (both song AND stuff). going to the era of Run and forever man, which was the end of the young eric clapton in my opinion. than the era of the connorblues.. what eric is now, is nothing more then a completed legend showing what he is still these days. i love him. sorry for my bad english.. i'm dutch
yes holly mother my favourite too but all is great feeling feeling<;;
don't forget the bass with slaps and a progressive line... its like disco... but, isn't.
(Ah, amazing bass line :D).
My favorite on the august Album
To Mbeals-"that black guy" ---Is Nathan East---one of the BEST Bass players to ever hit the stage--He & Greg Phillanges (keyboards) played with Clapton alot during the 80's---BTW Phil Collins is no slouch on the drums --IMO they were all simply magnificent--Just watching Clapton on that Strat makes my day---Thanks ouvigna for posting this L.
No kidding is he great or what!!!! Love him who is he?This band rivals Cream and that's saying something!!! Love it! I was hooked just one look ,easy prey,child's play, something inside of me keeps on tellin me to RUN!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
80s Clapton rockss!!! Just like 60s 70s 90s and 2000s Clapton!!!!
ok, cause on the lyrics its something doffeent and i knew they werent right
life of the party
i used to be
in the begining does he say "life of the party" or "love on my mind"?
I think it's "The life of the party, I used to be" from what I can interpret...
I Love it. Just shows his versatility. Still music anyway. Don't be so narrow with your likes and dislikes.
The August album Rocks!!! His band was tight, funky, and provided Clapton with a sound that was perfect for the mid 80's.
EC's pure, shameless pop!
