At first I thought this tune reeked of arrogance.. that he’s going to miss her yet he can’t forgive her.
After reading the lyrics, ‘.. heard you don’t love me’
I realized he was screwed by her long before and is or already has let a toxic relationship go.
Probably the best song on the August album. I remember when this album came out, I was really disappointed that it was heavily produced, didn't like the horns and it wasn't bluesy enough. The album grew on me, though.
