Clapton, Eric - Hard Times Lyrics
My mother told me
'Fore she passed away
Said son when I'm gone
Don't forget to pray
Lord those hard times
Who knows better than I?
Well I soon found out
Just what she meant
When I had to pawn my clothes
Just to pay the rent
Talkin' 'bout hard times
Lord those hard times
I had a woman
Who was always around
But when I lost my money
She put me down
Talkin' 'bout hard times
Hard times
Yeah, yeah, who knows better than I?
Lord,
One of these days
There'll be no more sorrow
When I pass away
And no more hard times
No more hard times
Yeah, yeah, who knows better than I?

Clapton, Eric Hard Times Comments
Eric solo too heavy, too fast, for that spirited blues. Slow down slow hand and feel it.
Yeah, its too perfect. He's gotta relax a little more.
The green Strat goes perfect with Eric's Joker suit.
dommage pour la coiffure!!!!!!
putain!!!!! c"est bon!!!!!!
Disappointed in the solo, it's not very subtle.
Sanborn played a helluva solo then Clapton played like shit.
harlon57 lol
El mejor tema de jornalero, lejos.
Parece que esa noche fue a la casa del guasón!!!!
Fucking stratocaster. He should play a Gibson Les Paul
Does anyone knows when it happens?
Singing a Ray’s song, especially this one, good as he did it, puts you on the map of fucking crazy good blues singers!! Bravo Eric
wonderfull!
Listen to the wonderfull original from the fantastic Ray Charles and you know this version is like Claptons hairstyle! :):):)
No disputing Ray Charles greatness, but this version aint bad either.
Wow, I was surprised that Clapton took a solo on this track; if I'm hearing right, you can't capture it with one simple pentatonic scale!
Muros you only hear a pentatonic scale being used? Then, you sir, have hearing problems.
Muros, feel free to do better.
blew it." Hard times come again no more" is Stephen Foster. Not the Ray Charles song.
The song is great, popularized by Ray Charles, ( originally by Stephen Foster, apparently). It can be a great song done simply, not so sure about the Big Band treatment. Eric Clapton is solid.
Why does eric clapton look so dark at the begging. I thought I was watching a cat Williams special at first.
No Tre lol
what an amazing sound he can produce with that Stratocaster!
One of my favorite songs by Ray. Nice cover to this but it's just missing that raw voice from Ray.
EC dressed as The Joker lol
Calpton, maestro de todos los tiempos
Like that song
Fantastic!
I love Eric voice
The joker hard times
hahaha Joker
almost sounds like Ray if Ray never existed. Nice axe though bro
+Damian Rangi YES HE DOES
solo un blues
This wasn't written by three white kids. This was written by Ray Charles himself.
astute observation my friend
Who said it was written by three white kids?

What a great song...and to think it was written in the early 50's by a couple of white kids still in their teens. Some say it was their first song they wrote together "
the joker?

@YmustTh3w0rldG0r0und The question is, why aren't you???
q potro e
♥♥♥
he is so amazing that i can let pass that hideous suit lol
Haha lol
hahahah exactly
Yeah, that's really bad! He looks like a golfer on the course!
The joker!!!!!
he can wear a saucepan and flowerpot on his head as far as I'm concerned, his music is legend
Maybe 1990 or 1991?
Nice post Mariano Scott! Great song. Do you know what year this is from?
240p and still SO GOOD
this is fantasticccccc hard times is real awesome.,
but its a great song though!
Did the joker ever get his suit back? Kidding Clapton IS God. My fab.
Just brilliant,love gtr. tone

eric was cokein' off his tities!
Thats when he was at his best though!
Great !! Thank you for posting
lol why is he dressed like the joker?
to me that's a pretty bad guitar solo
He's got a lovely head of hair for a man his age.
I did'nt know Clapton used to be black
I didnt know Tina Turner used to be White.
Clapton looks like the Joker!
Lose the hairspray!
Amazing!
they don't call him slow hand for nothing..
Amo esta canciónnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
love this song
One of the few times I have seen him playing a green signature model stratocaster of his.
@getkristan You ain't been on the EC scene long, have you?
Barney was a dinosaur from our imagination and when he's tall he's what we call a dinosaur sensation...
Bring it on Eric,Some ones Who post Just Dont Know Great Music.Thats all.
How can 3 people dislike this? quite sure has nothing to do with music itself, but style or other thing that it's not the main spirit here...
rays version is great and the way he sings it only a black man could sing this song. HOWEVER mr. clapton is very impressive because he can sing with a blues voice that is just excellant. so my hat is off to eric clapton on this!
very, very thin Clapton...playing a great song from Ray Charles...
I'd sure like to see Eric play that just with acoustic guitar. If he's not too old, now.
who is the pianist?
What a great song...and to think it was written in the early 50's by a couple of white kids still in their teens. Some say it was their first song they wrote together - one the greatest song writing teams in rock n roll/R & B history, Leiber and Stoller.
Eric looks smashing in his Purple velvet suit..Pimp
David Sanborn sax and then Clapton guitar - always amazing
Beautiful....and that sax.....WOW
@SweetPapaFer Reminds me of joker
Great! I've been trying to find a nice version where he does his blues guitar stuff :) I heard it on a flight in ChinaAirlines but couldnt find it anywhere else, brings back the memories of long plane flights B)
