Clapton, Eric - Groaning The Blues Lyrics
I'm so tired of moaning,
Trying to groan away my blues.
I'm so tired of moaning,
Trying to groan away my blues.
I keep weeping and crying
I would rather die of starvation,
Perish out in the desert sun,
I would rather die of starvation,
Perish out in the desert sun,
Than to think of some other man
Holding you in his arms.
My heart gets so heavy
Lord I shakes down in my bones.
Lord I shakes down in my bones.
I can't hurt a murderer,
Oh Lord, but I'm forced to weep and moan.

Para mí gusto de las mejores interpretaciones de este tema, transmite mucho...de Willie Dixon originalmente no?

So underrated
Stevie ray vaughan Tone
I love how it’s just a guy sweating through a plain blue t shirt bending and time and space with artistic soul. Beats the shit out of these bedazzled closet rent boys trying to pass themselves off as artists these days.
Fucking A !
Love it!

Mon dio
No words. Slow Hand shreds it.
His best solo ever.. Maybe the best solo ever played
What can I say..... wow....
One of Eric's Best Blues songs most haven't even heard. 😎🎸
is that you stevie ray?
Jeremias Marcolini Otis Rush actually, but yeah Stevie copied him, like many, like Clapton, and even more real deal blues men copied him a lot (just less usually, they tended to invent more)
@Seamus Hawks oh come on there's a difference between copying and reinventing even better than before
Jeremiah Acuna yeah there is, agreed, and yet I half disagree- I’m a professional guitar player, currently finishing up at Berklee, I’ve studied from all of the above, and can trace the exact licks, and I’m far from the only player who noticed that it’s exact copying, collaging, usually not reinvented, though to be fair, sometimes it is...
I agree in the sense that actually reinventing something can have its merit, but frankly, a lot of those guys dumbed down the originals. Not always, but it’s a trend...
it’s a lot easier and involves less creativity to play in Clapton or Stevie Ray’s styles (post 60s Clapton anyway) than it is to study their routes, cause, despite their routes being less flashy, they were soulful and inventive and lived through a lot a pain.
I know it isn’t all about easy to play, and who stole what, vs reinvented, or simply, invented (like Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Zappa, Robert Johnson, so on, more my guys; the ones that pushed their fields further along than say, post 60s Clapton or Stevie Ray). Hendrix could play circles around Stevie ray, as stevie ray dumbed down Hendrix and ripped off Albert King note for note primarily, and then John Mayer dumbed down the already dumbed down version, and now a lot of people copy and dumb down him, and that’s where we’re at today: the most dumbed down take on this stuff.
Of course, expression and soul, one could argue, are the primary drive, aside from pushing the field forward, and in this case, I liked Clapton’s solo- it wasn’t terribly original, and I’m not bowing down to god, but it had attitude and if I’m in the right mood it can give me goosebumps. I give credit for those rare post 60s Clapton moments of goosebump quality, they’re AWESOME. But, I’m not about to pretend like he wasn’t part of the dumbing down of music after his great 60s contributions in the bluesbreakers and cream.
The best
he shreds the blues
Stunning!!!!!!
