This one of the only desent songs. Been a fan since 2005 n its gonna take a preaty long time for the rest of the album to sound not so commercial.

I have read tons of these comments, and everyone is criticizing this song, yet (as of now) it only has 23 dislikes. In my opinion Circa Survive has "peaked" with each new album. Im not saying this because I'm some over hyped fan boy, they just step it up more and more. Can anthony sing those crazy high notes without his voice being raspy? No. But come on guys, that was 12 YEARS ago. Descensus was an amazing album, not to mention the fact that they wrote the entire thing from scratch in two weeks (and this was confirmed by Colin and Nick at the OLG VIP Q&A). This song showcases their willingness to go beyond what they've done before, and they do it well. Anthony may have to "yell" to hit these notes, but the music changed gauge with his voice, so it works. The lyrical composition is still weird as hell. What can you possibly say they could improve on? Lustration proved that they are still going to have some intricate atmospheric songs, but this mixes in as well. (Side note, Anthony said The Amulet is a sort of concept album that has to deal with rebirth and regrowth, and this being the 7th track fits perfectly in the stitch of their sound being "rebirthed")

I don't think I've ever heard Anthony's falsettos be so clear and crisp before, tbh. Just shows what clean living and self improvement will do, I guess. The intro to Lustration... I've never heard a thirty year old man sound like a 13 year old choir boy before, damn!

Christiana Armstrong I wasn't trying to say Anthony isn't talented, he is by far one of the most focused and in-tune vocalists of this music generation. I was just saying its expected that someone's voice change a little over the course of 15 years to have a slight bit more umph to it than before. Obviously he does it on purpose, he shows at a ton of points in this album that he can still sing exactly how he used to. His voice just has more of a raw chesty sound now. If you listen to old Saosin vs new Saosin it barely even sounds like the same singer because he has just gotten his voice much more under control.

Juturna is still my favorite, but this is great in a different way. Not so much my taste anymore. I love seeing Anthony as a young chubby kid, I remember reading about he was bullied in his youth and how that shaped who he is. Now he's figuratively bitch-slapping every bully worldwide.

These songs are some of their best work for sure, but the production is by no means amazing here. Will Yip just does not capture them to their full potential and a lot of people's concerns are centered around the mix, which if you stopped being a dickrider that nobody respects, you would probably find areas of improvement too. "We don't want you here." What are you, 13?

I gotta admit, I sometimes listen to On Letting Go just to hear the production and I'm not quite hearing it in the newer works. I love the direction of the new songs and I don't think Anthony has ever sounded cleaner or clearer in regards to his falsettos and screams and I will never cease to love the guitar work but the songs seem to lack the punch I feel they deserve.

I have to agree with Ethan here. The lyrics, the vibes, pretty much everything but the mix is great, and that just makes that weakness stick out all the more. Compared to any album before Descensus put the sound of these vocals to shame, even though the singing is even more top-notch than ever. They just sound strangely muted and flattened out here. It's still good, but good god -- just imagine if this played off the strengths of how On Letting Go was mixed...

Circa will always have a place in my heart, but man they aren't what they used to be. Post Anthony getting off opiates Circa sounds dead and dull. Passion seems forced. Total bummer.

I'm really enjoying these release so far and I'm a huge juturna and OLG fanboy:) Bluesky noise was overall a great album, violent waves was ok, descensus not my favorite but schema and sovereign circle are amazing. SO slight dip after blue sky noise but what has been release so far has me really excited.

I hope this album grew on you because its truly a work of art! This and Jurturna are on par with each other for sure

Ok.. I LOVE CIRCA... I mean.... Love. They are amazing musicians. They way the compromise and write their songs is great. But whoever recorded/mixed/Engineered/Mastered this album and Descensus... NEEDS TO BE FIRED. The instrumentals sound weak. The vocals are completely unclear and drowned out. Without the lyrics, I would never know what Anthony is saying lol. THE MIX IS TERRIBLE LOL

Don't let your nostalgia ruin new material for you. This is really good, and to say it's not as dynamic or technical as what they used to play/release, that's a bold statement to make considering every song they make is different. Circa never disappoints me, despite seeing the (small) differences in their old and new stuff. I'm just glad they're still around and kept true to their sound.
