Chicago - Heart In Pieces Lyrics

Only you can touch me with your dark eyes
With a look that burns like fire through the lonely night.
Sometimes I run, but I can never hide
From the pieces of my heart that fall like rain from the sky.

[Chorus:]
When you hear the thunder,
When you hear the sound of a mountain crashing down,
It's just my heart in pieces.
When I feel the hunger,
When I'm reaching out with a hundred thousand hands,
It's my heart in pieces.

No one cuts through my soul like you can.
I'm naked to the bone beside your empty hand.
I see your face and I remember.
I'm a prisoner of your fate,
I'm a loser in the race.

When you hear the thunder,
When you hear the sounds of a mountain crashing down,
It's just my heart in pieces.
When I feel the hunger,
When I'm reaching out with a hundred thousand hands,
It's my heart in pieces.

I walk the fine line
Between fire and the ice.
The memory lives on.
There's always something to remind me.
Every teardrop falling
When your voice keeps calling.

[Chorus repeats until fade.]

  6. S.... K....

For a second there, this sounded like Danger Zone. Nonetheless, I love this song

    S.... K....

That bass line in the beginning probably did the trick lol. I thought the same XD

    My God... Amazing

  8. n.... ....

Jimi Hendrix once told Parazaider, "Jeez, your horn players are like one set of lungs and your guitar player is better than me."[6]

    n.... ....

True story. The guitarist Jimi was talking about was the late Terry Kath.

    n.... ....

Terry Kath was great. Jimi was being kind. Jimi is the greatest.

    n.... ....

    It's called humbleness.

    n.... ....

Marcus Anderson it's actually called "humility" lol

    n.... ....

Jimi was the ONLY guitarist/singer who could have filled Terry’s shoes in Chicago - except that, of course, Jimi died before Terry. Not saying by any means that it may have happened otherwise. But, imagine Jimi in that role in Chicago. It seems to me that in terms of both guitar and vocals, Jimi would have, musically, been an absolutely perfect fit.

    Hugely underrated song. Love it.

+Bob Schneider Yeah!! Whole album is great.

It doesn't sound a lot like the "old" Chicago (wasn't supposed to) but it's a great album. Great pop rock mix/blend. Nicely produced, for this type of music. I played this CD over and over when it first came out.
