Chenoweth, Kristin - Bring Him Home Lyrics

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there

He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy

You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

When I was 12, I found my parents’ copy of the original Les Mis cast on cassette tapes and started listening to them. I wore out the tapes and became convinced that I was just like Eponine. Love hearing her sing this. 😍🥰

Simply and superbly beautiful. Thank you Ms. Chenoweth.

This song also resonated with me on a deeply personal level... which is why I am also in therapy. At least I'm in good company ;)

Kristin Chenoweth is a national treasure.

  6. M.... A....

I love this song so much

I discovered her amazing talent singing on Glee and that was one amazing performance especially when she hit that high not at the end. She is one petite stick of dynamite and I can't get enough of here now, so petite yet what a set of pipes!

Anybody who respect's Colm's Bring Him Home is automatically a favorite of mine.

    This lady is phenomenal.

anybidy know where i csn find this backing track?

  11. K.... B....

No disrespect to this amazing lady but isn't it odd that someone with a speaking voice not unlike Minnie Mouse should have such a powerful and beautiful singing voice?

  12. L.... ....

    Beautiful...

  13. K.... P....

    I was at that show!!!

I would love to hear her sing a duet of this with Gary Morris. His version is superb and he actually did sing it in the Broadway production of Les Miz.

  15. G.... E....

Out of this world! One of my favorite "Les Miserables" songs. I've karaoke'd this, and since I first heard this version, the song always reminds me of Kristin....my make-believe wife LMAO. Dream on.

Brought me to tears! Just saw Kristin Chenoweth sing this in Orange County and it was so incredibly beautiful. I loved this song 23 years ago when I saw Les Miserables on Broadway. Now, the son that I was pregnant with during that Broadway performance has been away from home over a month in rehab to battle a long hidden struggle with alcoholism. Please Lord, bring him home, bring him home...

Thank you for sharing. I hope your son is doing well. Does not always stick the first time around, so be strong for him.

  17. M.... R....

    Love love love this

  18. D.... B....

Superb performance of a song that is not really suited to her. She raised the bar of what is possible a long way with this!

  19. S.... R....

What a wonderful voice! I never fail to be amazed by this woman's talent.

  20. M.... K....

beautiful , i literally just discovered this while looking for a competion song and bam her voice was jsut amazing

  21. e.... h....

good voice. though.. this song is written for one of the best male musical voices and it sounds a bit weird when young guys and women singing a Jean Valjean song. for me it's like an old man.. 19 years in prison.. plus 10ish years after that sang memory from cats

  22. L.... M....

I feel like this song, outside of the Les Mis context, works so beautifully as mother singing for her daughter's fiancé who is going to war

  23. C.... ....

My grandfather just passed away and this suits him perfectly. He loved Kristin as well!

  24. D.... T....

I love her, that being said this was a marvelous performance that demonstrated her artistic abilities as a classical singer. However, this is one of the biggest iconic male songs of all time. I prefer it to stay that way. Still, it was stunning victory from Miss Chenoweth to say the least.

    D.... T....

Here because I heard a Girl sing it at a funeral today and it moved me.... Powerful voice....

  25. M.... T....

I love it when Kristin shows just what her operatic voice can do.

  26. K.... R....

    So beautiful.
