Cheap Trick - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day Lyrics

When the snowman brings the snow
Well, he just might like to know
He's put a great big smile on somebody's face
If you jump into your bed
Quickly cover up your head
Don't you lock the doors
You know that sweet Santa Claus in on the way

Well, I wish it could be Christmas every day
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas every day
Let the bells ring out for Christmas

When we're skating in the park
If the storm cloud makes it dark
Then your rosy cheek's going to light my merry way
Now the frosticles appear
And they've frozen up my beard
So we'll lie by the fire
Till the sleet simply knocks 'em all away

Well, I wish it could be Christmas every day
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas every day
Let the bells ring out for Christmas

When the snowman brings the snow
Well, he just might like to know
He's put a great big smile on somebody's face
So if Santa brings that sleigh
All along the Milky Way
I'll sign my name on the rooftop in the snow
Then he may decide to stay

Well, I wish it could be Christmas every day
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas every day
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
Let the bells ring out for Christmas

Original a ton better. As was most stuff Trick stole from Wood. Blackberry Way comes to mind.

And you're probably the only person who ever heard of the original. This version is outstanding

    Stole?
All were done with Roy's blessings.
So I guess you wouldn't be interested in them performing together last week then....

Craig Daliessio actually, this song was a #4 in England (1974) and charts every year. Heard by millions of people. So, you might want to do some research before you try to make someone look bad

@Craig Daliessio I've been listening to it every year since 1973 (thank you to the late Scott Muni of WNEW-FM fame). It's a shame it never caught on here in US but it's basically the Christmas anthem of the UK with the original charting just about every year as well as being covered by dozens of other artists.
