Cheap Trick - Cry, Cry Lyrics

My my my
My my eyes i can't believe
I'm cryin'
You you
Yeah you you broke my heart
It's true
It seems to me
You should have told me
I just can't go on this way
My my my
My my eyes i can't believe
I'm cryin'
You you
Yeah you you broke my heart
It's true
You say to me
You say you never
Realized how much you loved me
So don't ya call me on the phone
Oh babe no no baby
Just to say you're all alone
And cry cry cry cry
It seems to me
You should have told me
I just can't go on this way
So don't ya call me on the phone
Oh babe no no baby
Just to say you're all alone
And cry cry cry cry

My first rock concert was KISS and Cheap Trick in 1977 at the Cow Palace. I had a girlfriend - friend, not anything intimate - that turned me on to the first album in June, and I wore the album out. I knew all the Cheap Trick songs and was there as much to see Cheap Trick as I was KISS (knew all the KISS songs too :-p). My favorite songs from that album were Elo Kiddies and Cry, Cry...and probably still are, 41 years later.

They didn't play Cry, Cry but they did play Elo Kiddies. 3rd song, same as the 20 year Live At Budokan CD, and under Bun's cymbals was a red, yellow, and blue spotlight; so with all the smoke in the arena, those spots shot out like lazers. It was a really cool effect and must have been hot as hell for Bun E.

I met Robin 5 or so years ago. CT was playing at the Lane County fair in Eugene Oregon, and well before the show he was sitting out by the dog arena, talking to fans. I had an unused ticket from that first KISS/CT show because my girlfriend couldn't go so I went myself. So I explained to Robin that They were my first live show and he says "I'm sorry...." Really down to earth guy and I talked with him for maybe 10 mins about different stuff, got pics, etc. He was saying "Wow, this was our first tour..." as he was signing the ticket. He has recognized me at every Cheap Trick show I've been to since. Robin's the real deal and if you're at a Cheap Trick show early, do some poking around and see if he's hanging somewhere. You're likely to run into him because he, more than anyone else that I've ever met, knows he has a career because of the fans and he really enjoys interacting with his fans.

Best band ever. 20 original albums. Not to mention Rick called me on the telephone like in Cry Cry. He wasn't crying though....just promoting Dream Police

I keep mashing the like button, but it only "likes" it once!

  18. D.... ....

really solid track...ranks right at the top for CT tunes/faves...shame it never got much airplay either but it is more of a 'deep track' and not all that poppy. ~ T.Vonny

This was one of the first albums I ever owned. In 9th grade, 1981, I bought every album Cheap Trick recorded. None of my friends listened to them back then. I can see now how strongly they influenced my musical tastes.
