Tomye Crain and TAZ RIP so many times Charlie ever since meeting him before this concert drove from St Louis in a Blizzard 24 wasn't completed then. We had no tickets until we went to the arena early and we met Charlie he got us four tickets. every time he was near STL he remembered me because he said you were 4 th row and he Said I had the loudest voice he ever heard. Back stages even at the MO State Fair there wasn't any seats so me and 3 friends walked on to the stage I was leaning on the mar shell stack with a bottle of Jack and Charlie turned around and played that slide part looking at me instead of the crowd and I was chugging the bottle. The first Time I saw him was at radio station kite fly KSHE St Louis JD Blackfoot was the opening band CDB, and then Rush without Neil Peart. A free concert in forest park which was were the worlds fair was 80,000 people showed up and they never tried that again.

WHEN THE CDB WAS SOUTHERN ROCK AWESOME

I was at I and 2 First one drove from STL to Nashville in one of the worst blizzards we have every driven in! There was now Highway 24 so we had to drive through Kentucky They stopped us on the exit to go to  Nashville and the State Police were telling us that the HYW was closed, We explained our problem we were 16 at the time and they let us go at our on risk! One of the worst night I have ever been driving through you couldn't see more than 15 ft in front of our car! When we got to Nashville and about 20 miles out side Nashville we checked in to a Holiday inn! Me and my friend drove to the site since we had never been in Nashville and when we got there we really didn't think it was sold out we were like we are going to get tickets we weren't rally rich so we couldn't pay scalper prices so we parked next to the arena and went in the back where they were un loading all the instruments 3 am! After walking around inside we asked a couple of guys after saying what we had gone thru they said we had to leave , but told us at 11 am the lighting crew gets there and they usally had some extra tickets! So we go down their in the morning asking people and nobody had any! Finally this guy comes up to us and starts saying where are your union cards and then we had to get out of here! I told the guy what we had gone thru to get there and the gut said the biggest chance to get ticket was from Charlie himself he is right over there we walked up to him introduce our self and shook his had and he said what could I so to help so people that did a lot to gey here from ST Louis last night we said we didn't think it would be sold out already! He was such a nice guy and we stood and talked to him for 30 mins and he said what I can do for you boys is here are to tickets and his wife would be there in about 4 hrs and I will make her bring a couple of more we said what did we owe him and he said on the house how cool he said meet Tommye Craine at door  6 at 5:30 sharp we made it thirty mins eary and a t 5:30 sharp here's Tommy Craine  and we all talk to him for 20 mins RIP what a nice guy! I went the next yr with my dad which I told him it would be hard to get tickets and he said bull shit pull up to the front in his benz and rolls the window down and says 100 for two tickets they were like 8 dollars each and about ten guys come there in a second we had tickets! From then on Charlie remembered me and every time he was in ST Louis he was signing million mile reflection albums at this record store I got there and they only had 15 mins left so I walked up to the stage with my girl friend and said hey Charlie you remember me he said the guy that came to Nashville I said this is my girl friend and he got he name and personalized his signature! And says hey Fred set these people up pre show and backstage passes! Which we got and after the show between his semi's he had tubs full of ice cold bush beer! Another time at the Missouri state fair There really wasn't a back stage so I was standing in between a marshall and Taz RIP with a bottle of jack and Charlie turn and played Whiskey right to me how fing cool! Thanks CDB 7 times special guest of the band!

Really, really LIKE it!  I bought a dvd of 'Volunteer Jam:  The Movie', and it won't play on my machine! I've waited most of my life to hear this.  I'm 51.  Thank you for sharing this!!!
