this was the last song my brother in law did with his band "the SilverStars" the night before he left for Vietnam. We lost him some time ago from the affects of AgentOrange.

So many good life was destroyed by that . i feel for them but bless the lord oh my soul i pray they rest in peace. They sleep in ur arms

Alan, thank you so much for sharing so many of Charley's songs.  I had forgotten Charley  also recorded this.  I have loved his voice and his music since I was a "tween".   His voice is still wonderful.  He's truly an American treasure.  Of course, people all over the globe who see and hear him love his talent too.

I remember wearing out the 8-Track with this song on it. Believe it was about 1969-1970 when we bought this tape. Although I do have to say that this version of the song is not from that album, this is a remake. I listened to that tape so much that every song on there is engrained into my brain. You can tell that Charley's vocals ,on this version, are not the same as when he cut this album.
