Chapin, Harry - Sunday Morning Sunshine Lyrics
I came into town with a knapsack on my shoulder
And a pocket full of stories that I just had to tell
You know I've knocked around a bit
And I've had my share of small town glories
It's time to hit the city and that crazy carousel
I been feeling sorry for myself
But you know I was only lonely
Like everybody else
Until you brought your Sunday morning sunshine
Here into my Monday morning rain
You taught me happiness just one time
It keeps on coming back again
These streets were never highways
These days were never my days
For I had not known your love
It's funny how a city
Can put on a different face
When it holds the one you care for
It becomes a different place
And I never felt so far from alone
Oh baby, you brought me halfway home
Oh baby, you brought me halfway home
You brought your Sunday morning sunshine
Here into my Monday morning rain
You taught me happiness just one time
It keeps on coming back again and again and a
You brought your Sunday morning sunshine
Here into my Monday morning rain
You taught me happiness just one time
It keeps on coming back again and again and a
You brought your Sunday morning sunshine
Here into my Monday morning rain
You taught me happiness just one time
It keeps on coming back again

Chapin, Harry Sunday Morning Sunshine Comments
Zijn stem lijkt behoorlijk op Don McLean. Fijne muziek, ik kende hem nog niet! Ik ga zeker nog naluisteren wat hij nog meer heeft gemaakt!
A beautiful, uplifting tune that can make you think of the little things in life!
Songs that reflect emotions and situations are a great source of inspiration and reflection thanks Harry
My Sunday Morning Sunshine and this old guy have been married for 44 years now, THANKS HARRY.
God Bless that's Awesome may you have Many More
Probably his most uplifting song.
This hit so close I nicknamed my lady Sunshine.
what a beautiful soul..left us way too early. His songs are timeless and this one in particular makes me smile!
This song will always belong to my first love, whose nickname was "Rain"...the clever insertion of a comma into the chorus made the song an ode to her.
Joe Finn at the Lobster Claw down the shore!
THE LAST OF THE STORY TELLERS.
There will never be another Harry Chapin
SUNNY's Bar at Fredonia closed with this song. Many good memories, 1 great one!!
SUNY Fredonia class of 1981! I think I spent more time in Sunny's than in class. Internet says it's still around, wonder if they still play it at closing?
1975? We were there at the same time. Lived in Igoe Hall. 2 of the best years of my life.
@Craig McIntosh Song is definitely a SUNY's memory. Good friend of mine lived in Igoe during the same period. I'm betting you know him. Nickname Deuce.
@Wendy Ruzbacki Could be I do Wendy, I was an RA back then.
@Craig McIntosh He tended bar at SUNY's too, where I met him.
OMG kenneth keane. Sunday nights at JImmy Byrns Sea Girt Inn, Lunch Boys! Late 70's early 80's! So much fun. That place was rockin'!!!!
This was a beach band song at the Jersey shore back in the day. I get taken back to the bar, the crowd, the cold beer's. The happiness and joy. The old day's at the Jersey Shore, Belmar, was great! Kenny
Seagirt Inn
Harry rocks. Leeks.
I cant help but wonder what might have been if he had'nt have left us so soon, as he got older I feel he only would have gotten better
beautiful.. a magnificent beginning... in a rainy day..
There is no song that I have ever heard that take's me back to the year I met my Sunday Morning Sunshine in 1973.
I couldn't agree with you more Sabine. This is such as an uplifting song. Wish we had more of them :)
What a great song and like "A Better Place To Be" that was off of the same 1972 album, they flew under the radar for decades. I was 14 then and 40 years later we can thank the technology of the internet for keeping this excellent music alive. Such a shame that his life was cut short.
His best song, much better than Cats in the cradle
I miss him so much. How sad.
Love love LOVE Harry Chapin, and now my daughter (who is 6) can sing most of his songs! <3
