Before I start! This is what I had written to my family & friends to share this video
The woman with this beautiful voice that is singing this song, she’s like wow! The song is so beautifully & forgive me if it sounds that I’m blaming this song, which I am not in contrary it has helped me!
So here is what this song inspired me to do! Forgive me to all that really read this!
(Behind the scene our mother had passed away about two months ago & we all know how we all love our mother’s!) Well!
WOW!!!
Turn on the waterworks will yeah!!!
To look at this improperly slapped together sentences, phrases, & word composition that some how got pulled out of someone’s rectum!
Also to look at it from top to bottom, I too would say (WTH Riley!) starting a novel?
You can blame it on the song if you want! WOW!!!!!!!
Just listening to it made me want to start writing & crying!
You know the pity me party! This is a party for only one person at a time, so wait your turn, it’ll be at your house next week!
This is what I had been feeling for a while now, but it never got it to page!
This is what happens when you sit in a stationary truck for 5 days afraid to move it because you don’t want the engine to blow up, then 3 more days in a hotel room by yourself & no one to talk too, while you are getting your truck fixed!
This song & the way she sings it is so beautifully & serene!
I could die tomorrow & feel at peace listening to her sing this song & be happy with what I have accomplished thus far in my life! But!
With my eyes closed I could see my childhood once again & seeing my family that I miss & love so very much, right alone with the friends I used to know & the friends that I still care about today!
To my family & friends I Thank You for being in my life & sharing this pathway that I have chosen to go down! I know it will be bumpy at times, but with good friends & family & The Lord above to travel along with, has made my life bearable!
With all of you at your posts throughout my life, helping me keep on the straight & narrow! Giving me hope when I needed it the most & receive a ray of your love & kindness to quench my thirst in humanity!

Because without that what you have given me at the right times in my life I would have committed suicide so many years ago!
Thinking back to those days is like another lifetime ago!
With me making it to the age I am now, which is a miracle in it’s own right! I have learned that we all fight inner demons! We have our own hell that we manufacturer from birth!
You know our own personal private war you might say that we have to fight & win! So we can move on to the next stage in our lives, & the Lord is giving each of us a medal of accomplishment when we have completed each task he has given us! The Lord has blessed me with a wacky weird but lovely family!
Starting with my Grandfathers & Grandmothers & ending with my little brother & including some awesome people that I’m proud too call my friends & I thank you all for being here so for!
Now I hope no one checks out & leaves this wacky weird wagon wiggling its way through the tall weeds of life!

I think I will keep this in my notes & try to write a book what do you think?

It's a bit saccharine sweet.  Richard Carpenter said he and his sister wouldn't cover an ABBA song because 'Nobody does ABBA like ABBA'.  This song is a lament of someone going to sleep for the final time.  Listen to the original on good headphones to understand it's full message. Recorded 37 years ago.  Minimalist instrumentation yet starkly beautiful and the perfect closer of an extraordinary final album.  It doesn't need such lushness.

i think ive listened to all the versions of this song ,and still think this is the most beautiful and easiest to listen to.well done .

Sorry, but in my humble opinion this version has no feeling, no soul to it, just sounds as though it is just another number to be turned out before collecting the pay cheque.

One of at least fifty that they wrote of this standard. They were as good in the 70's as Lennon & McCartney in the 60's.

The 2 voices we are comparing are too different. I prefer Frida's voice, it gives the song an ethereal element. This singer is nice but not my cup of tea in regards to this song

I think Mairead sings it far better i am thrilled by her voice. Tears got in my eyes, well people i must be a freak then but i can not change my feelings.

Absolutely gorgeous!! and i hate to add a but, But how much more would it be if untouched! no reverb on the piano (still upset david downes isn't on it!.. a bit..) and her performance! she needed a little more spaces to step forward for those big moments, and the lighting... i'll stop, lol
