Cash, Rosanne - Seven Year Ache Lyrics
You act like you were just born tonight
Face down in a memory but feeling all right
So who does your past belong to today
Baby, you don't say nothing when you're feeling this way
But they don't think nothing when they're telling you lies
You look so careless when they're shooting that bull
Don't you know heartaches are heroes when their pockets are full
Tell me you're trying to cure a seven year ache
See what else your old heart can take
Boys say, "when is he gonna give us some room"
The girls say, "God, I hope he comes back soon"
And everybody's talking but you don't hear a thing
Boulevard's empty, why don't you come around
Baby, what is so great about sleeping downtown
There's plenty of dives to be someone you're not
Just say you're looking for something you might have forgot
Don't bother calling to say you're leaving alone
'Cause there's a fool on every corner when you're trying to get home
Just tell 'em your trying to cure a seven year ache
See what else your old heart can take
Boys say, "when is he gonna give us some room"
The girls say, "God, I hope he comes back soon"
Tell me you're trying to cure a seven year ache
See what else your old heart can take
Boys say, "when is he gonna give us some room"
The girls say, "God, I hope he comes back soon"

Cash, Rosanne Seven Year Ache Comments
She's just a natural and this song is just great. I love her music.
And guess what and guess what you better get out from behind her to
Love this song!
I was out in the beatiful city of San Diego's Mission & Fashion Valley. Hiting dance spots it was the top song in Pop & Country. Best time ever to be alive. Unfortunately it's all gone now, areas boarded up, crime rampid, aliens everywhere.
Compare her to what's out there today. This is when I'm glad I'm old and grew up with real music.I remember having this cassette tape and wearing it out. So many great songs.
Rosanne Cash is someone who would completely understand the value of a deep vocals and multiple women on a song and it shows. Low key witch coven vibes and loving it.
This always brings back memories as a teen shooting pool and hearing this on the jukebox playing and seeing the barmaids singing along😌🎶🎶🎶🎶
One of the most underrated artist in country music.
still listening after 38 years too!
I wonder why she divorced Rodney Crowell?😔⛪
1979....
My Gawd, did I want a woman like Rosanne Cash in the early 80's. She was so damned cute.
She's very talented and very cool !
Listening in 2020💯🎸
One of the best songs ever recorded....love this.
She has a really nice voice. What is it with that 7 year thing with marriages anyway? Nice video.
One of my all time favorites!!!!!!!!! Amazing song!
Two-Stepping at DESPERADO'S in Memphis, Tennessee 1981
I had so many good times there it cost me a wife.
@Fred Shaw -THAT WAS THE BEST PLACE ESPECIALLY LIVING IN WHITEHAVEN IT WAS NOT SO FAR TO DRIVE VERSUS WAY OUT EAST AND DOWNTOWN...LADIES NIGHTS on THURSDAY NIGHTS..HAPPY HOURS were the best!
Country pop at its best!! And they used to criticize Olivia Newton John for being too pop for country. They need to thank her for opening the door for them. Sheesh
I have loved this song ever since it first came out. You listening too? It is January 1st 2020!!!
I have always love this song too. I am still listening 1/17/2020.
First time I heard it spring of 1981.

No need to compare her to her father
Johnny's daughter in every possible way --- sings everything with all she has --- this is a country girl who makes her home in NYC

This song sorta sneaks up on you. The more you listen to it, the better it gets.
I met a wonderful lady thirty seven years ago and we are still together through thick and thin . This is a song that very special to me .
48 years for me.....................
Only if you could bite her on the butt develope lock jaw and be dragged to death.
A genuine woman, always been a favorite
Real class song. You dont get to hear such songs in today's era
I cannot love this more❤️You can hear her Dad Johnny’s timbre in her voice!
80’s country was so special. At the time, some traditional country music enthusiasts would’ve said it was a little too pop’y but damn I love it. Such a special time in the history of country music.
I love that Roseanne Cash inherited her musical talent from her parents but that her style is so uniquely her own.
💕💕💕👍👍😁👌👌👌🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
She is so good and pretty love her music
I have always had a lust for brunettes. I think that Roseanne Cash is one woman who can definitely make a man's heart pound and temperature rise. She is still as beautiful and sweet and sexy as she has always been. She hasn't lost her touch. She is really great
Fine? Oh yeah. Great singer? Ditto. Comes from good stock.
😃❤️👍🏻!
Ain't that the truth (that's what's so good about ole country it tells stories about real life)
“Don’t bother callin’ to say you’re leavin’ alone,
cause there’s a fool on every corner when you’re tryin’ to get home”
I so had a crush on her as a young man.

What happened to Roseanne Cash? Haven't heard anything from her in 10 years or so?
This song is one of my all time favorites. It is such a wonderful dance song. I remember the Sunday listening to the country countdown when it hit #1. We were all so excited. Loved it then and love it now. I still listen to it several times a month.
my theme song man love it
I am not a die hard country music fan, but Rosanne Cash is the greatest. She comes across as your warm friendly next door neighbor as well. Nothing phony about her. a great talent.
I love her so much. To come out from behind the musical shadow she did is a true testament to her OWN talent.
coffee drinking music
fool on the corner
She was awesome!!! Probly still is!!!’
I was the guy she sings about in this song for a time. It was a seven year ache too.
Love this song.
Thank you Rosanne for your awesome music!!! we love you
Beautiful with a fantastic voice
When a song and a singer come together in perfect synch
I 've had a crush on her for almost 40 years now. Can't believe it has been that long.
70's 80's 90's ! woohoo ! the stations were independent . now the formula radio is adding their help to destabilizing our nation with their politically correct playlists . each genre be it whatever is making sure they dont play music that the people are at ease with . bro countryand snap track country fit right in with that . I am sure it sells . but it also debases the human experience . and it creates tension .
Perfection!
Rosanne give me a seven year ache please!
Man I love that bass
Still a good song today.
How could you not like this song. Rosanne Cash sings it beautifully!

Such a beautiful voice.
she has an awesome voice,. very distinctive. no one sounds like her.
Such a fantastic voice and she is a beautiful woman
I sang for years in a band with a woman singer, and we did this song A LOT. People absolutely loved it, but not half as much as we did! The woman loved singing the lead, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED singing harmony on it. I really wish we could get together and sing it a few hundred more times!!!!! Fantastic song!
