I sing this to my dog and whenever I hear it I burst into tears because I love her so much she’s gotten me through my high school years. She saved my life. When I was little all I ever did was beg for a dog and now that I got her I can’t bear the thought of her not being here. I moved out and I couldn’t take her with me and so she lives there still with my parents and brothers and I miss her every day. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I don’t want to miss another moment with her because she’s 12 years old and I am so scared she will leave me without saying goodbye. God I love my dog so much what am I going to do

Lost my little brother to Heroin and Fentanyl toxicity on July 2nd of 2018 at the sad young age of 20. He was found overdosed in a field on a very hot summer day. This song is kind of like my morbid goodbye to him as well as a bittersweet memory I still share with him. We were both raised by our grandparents and our grandmother would sing this to us everyday. Miss him very much. Was inspired to share my story by reading all of yours. The sun always shines again in the morning , but here’s to the ones that won’t be here to see it with us.

My grandma used to always sing me this song. I went to her house a lot because my parents were working and I really hated preschool, but she still let me come over. She died when I was 10 so now I have to go to my cousins. Like 2 months before she died she asked if I wanted to come to her house every morning but I said no and now I really wish I didn't.

My grandma sang this to me every night before bed, it takes me back to simpler times. I ended up moving in with my mom in my later teens because she was an addict before and Wasn’t able to see me at all and I wanted to make up the time that I missed with her but I evidently left my grandma I still stay there half the time but now now she has 4th stage cancer and is currently in the hospital. I’m not even able to speak to her, I’d give anything to hear her voice right now.
