Cash, Johnny - Wabash Cannonball Lyrics
From the great Atlantic ocean to the wide Pacific shore
She climbs a flowery mountains o'er the hills and by the shore
She's mighty tall and handsome she's known quite well by all
She's a regular combination on the Wabash Cannonball
As she glides along the woodland o'er the hills and by the shore
Hear the mighty rush of the engine hear those lonesome hoboes call
Traveling through the jungle on the Wabash Cannonball
Well she came down from Birmingham one cold December day
As she pulled into the station you could hear all the people say
She's from Tennessee she's long and she's tall
She came down from Birmingham on the Wabash Cannonball
Listen to the jingle, the rumble and the roar
Hear the mighty rush of the engine hear those lonesome hoboes call
Traveling through the jungle on the Wabash Cannonball
Here's to daddy Claxton may his name forever stand
And always be remembered in the courts throughout the land
His earthly race is over and the curtains round him fall
We'll carry him home to Dixie on the Wabash Cannonball
Listen to the jingle, the rumble and the roar
As she glides along the woodland o'er the hills and by the shore
Hear the mighty rush of the engine hear those lonesome hoboes call
Traveling through the jungle on the Wabash Cannonball

Hallo Greta Tunberg :):):)
Please set this song to footage of UP 4014 Big Boy!!!!
When I was a soldier in South Africa I travelled on many trains, great days👌
sometimes you can just about smell the coal smoke
unfortunately, they emit a lotta pollutants.
This video must kill all the save the planet dummies
WOW! LOOK AT THOSE STEAM ENGINES SPEWING OUT THE BLACK SMOKE FROM THE COAL BURNING - THE TREE HUGGERS AND ENVIRONMENTALISTS WOULD GO CRAZY IF DIESEL ENGINES WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INVENTED. WE LIVED BETWEEN TWO RAILROAD YARDS IN THE 40S AND 50S AND MY MOTHER HAD TO RE WASH HER CLOTHES AFTER THE TRAIN WENT BY.
Do this again, and work in the 4014!
This was sung 🎶 by Peter in the real ghostbusters 👻 episode last train 🚂 to oblivion, my favourite train 🚆 episode.
and all the men that laid the track are laid to rest with not a hint to the part they played in constructing tracks of cold hard steel that are now just museums of the past greatness of america.
RIP Stobe.
The Train reminds me of U.P BigBoy
FCK IT!!!

Just my headphone speaker, is all I need
A young fighter screaming, with no time for doubt
Coz the tune he's playing man it's way too loud
It ain't much I'm asking, please hear me say
Gotta find me an artist who blows me away
Let's clone them all

Play the Wabash Cannonball
You would think we live in a modern utopia where high tech will rule....bullshit this video was ruined by the closed captioning. If you do not have the expertise or time please stop making this crap..I wanted to hear the Damn song and was distracted by the poor cc.
This brings back so many memories of when my husband and I made a tv show about trains. The theme song was The Wabash Cannonball, and it was a lot of fun. I still love trains.
How I pray Daddy Claxton's name was in the Lamb's Book of Life." Then the ballad. could end: "...he will ride the rails to heaven on the Wabash Cannonball..."
I have listened to this probably 40 times in the past 2 hours
Весёлая песенка, красивая му-

Johnny Cash had an unforgettable and brilliant voice and Loved Trains too! 😀👌👍🎙️🎸🎼🎼🎶🎶🚂🚃🚃🚃🛤️👩🔧🇺🇸
I love all the beautiful images of the steam locomotives. What makes this video perfect in Johnny Cash's singing of the Wabash Cannonball!
Those steam powered trains what built USA...
Curious to open the video with a clip of what looks a lot like a German locomotive and train . . .
Johnnycash
you can play it again after the resurrection, hw wiill be young andenergitic.
She ain't got nothing on the pan american queen
Nothing is better than a steam engine running wide open. Transportation as God intended, honest coal from honest coal mining towns.
I love a steam engine just as much as the next guy, but burning coal is really terrible for the environment lol.
Indeed and look at how powerful they are compared to semi trucks
I may sound stupid, (I'm 15) but I still like trains.
Devledogg there’s people from 2 years old to 90 years old who are passionate about trains
@Sirens And Railroads of Oklahoma I've always like the old locomotives.
I always think of that supper scene from Nothing But Trouble when I hear this song.
...In my little Irish hometown Ballybunion by the sea!"
IL PUSE' GRAND DE TUC
I’m right next to the wabash railroad while listening to this lol
Nostalgies about the time when America was still .. somehow sane
0:05: Whristle Bridge spotted! :D
I think we all should start a Johnny Cash page on face book
100% goosebumps
I grew up wit this great stuff.
Amazing song
Hate the inclusion of European and Asian trains in this video. Seems Johnny Cash should be honored with only North American train images.
The Train Man
Toller Sound gefällt mir
0:33 What's up with that?
The Reeve of Valkenheim sent me here.
I do hope that good old Daddy Claxton’s name was in the Book
of Life, so that when he died, he was carried up to Heaven on the Wabash Cannonball!
And tell me "who's gonna fill them shoes"
Never heard this one by johnny before i like it
Check out Johnny Cash's "Texas 1947." He even made music about a diesel engine – she's big and red and silver and she don't blow no smoke...A+++
Oh hell yea
My grandma likes this song
Though not an American listening to Johnny Cash makes one feel free like on the wild steppes of the west.
Johnny Cash was soooo wrong:
In the wake of the song's popularity, the Wabash Railroad renamed its daytime express run between Detroit and St. Louis as the Wabash Cannon Ball in 1949, the only actual train to bear the name, which it carried until the creation of Amtrak in 1971, when it was discontinued. However, the train was named after the song, not the other way around. On October 26 and 27, 2013, Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society's Nickel Plate Road 765, in conjunction with the Norfolk Southern Railway's "21st Century Steam" program, pulled a 225-mile round-trip excursion, retracing the Cannon Ball's former route between Fort Wayne and Lafayette, Indiana.[4]
So much pollution coming out of those trains....
Yupiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!!
Could they use an AMERICAN STEAM LOCOMOTIVE ? In the begining......
and the end.
Not my favorite version. However I've never heard a tune by johnny cash I didnt like. John was one of the best ever was or will be.
I love trains...and btw, the United States was named by a Canadian...yes...he called it the U S eh.
And we DON'T say "aboot"!!! Haven't heard that in my life...
That's because I made it up Tom...lol
This song needs to be put to the "Big boy" now that she's once again got life
i have that in vhs
Great song great video
Roy acuff made this song
The 337 dislikes are from Arlo Guthrie,!
I really love this song ;-) I love the music of Johnny Cash, but this song about this train is really great. I try to sing it, a little bitty i can sing, but not the whole song. And the song is better performed by Mr. Cash and not by me who sings under the shower *smiling*
More coal for the Dinosaur
Great , Johnny Cash i love it
steam had and always will have more power than diesel ....tree huggers wanna go green...whats more clean than water !!!! rail needs to go back to water . simple clean , and keeps the tree huggers happy .....maybe ....but they'll bitch about something as they hate to see people workin and making a living !!!!
Johnny, how I miss you standing beside the railroad-track.....
here from blind willie mctell
This was on the list for the late 1977 Elvis tour that never happened.
I remember only a few short years ago a teacher in my high school who grew up im the 60s didnt mind me listening to music because i apparently listened to "sensible music" 😃
super legend !
O sans tambour ni trompette toute les artisse
The Wabash Cannonball was not fictional-her home was Peru, IN. I grew up in Logansport, and rode both her and our Iron Horse, before our powers that be foolishly sold them both for scrap.
Named after the song. Not vice-versa.
@Les Faul You should not tell someone who rode the coal burning locomotive as a child that it did not exist or presume to know its history better than someone who knew the train, and its sister, the Iron Horse. It makes you look like an ass to rewrite history and presume to know better than someone who was actually there as a child.
My God I love this
Rollin' coal with Mr. Cash
My grandfather used to play this song in his living room when i was a kid in the 70's. I havent thought about this in almost 40 years. Damn....
Nice song but the video could be better. Using footage of european steam engines makes no sense.
Awesome video and song!!!thanks for sharing.u made my day♡♡♡♡♡
Who's here in 2019
Didn't know you had jungle in USA.
1:12 makes me emotional
You know Mr. Jones was right who's gonna fill this legend's shoes?
Personally I don't think anyone can
Cause legends never die
This is my favourite version 😊
Mine too. Johnny Cash and trains just seem to go together.
Ji. Paraná Rondônia Brazil
Cocordonsito
My grandpa was born in Wabash IN.
In 1887.
No one else can sing this song like Johnny Cash!
I could listen to this over and over again!
This is my third repeat haha
Simpler times. Now a days people would be ranting on how much pollution these old smokers made.
If you want to hear the real version listen to the Hank Snow version. The Wabash Cannonball traveled east to never south!,
Correction the Wabash Cannonball traveled east to west and back. It never rolled south
The best train ever!
