Cash, Johnny - Boa Constrictor Lyrics
I'm getting swallowed by a Boa Constrictor
By a Boa Constrictor by a Boa Constrictor
I'm getting swallowed by a Boa Constrictor and I don't like snakes one bit
What do you know he's swallowed my toe oh gee he's up to my knee
Oh my he's up to my thigh oh yummy he's up to my tummy
Now look here snake I don't look good with this long tail on me
It's all about I can say snake except give me a break snake
My torso's cold and it's startin' to mould Boa Constrictor how much can you hold
Oh yes he's up to my chest oh heck he's up to my neck
Nearly all in he's up to my chin oh dread he's swallowed my...excuse me

Cash, Johnny Boa Constrictor Comments
Excuse me. Love that ending.
My mum bought this when a kid
My dad had this album and let me play this song all the time. I thought the belch at the end was hilarious. RIP Dad.
Shel Silverstein + Johnny Cash= lyrical gold. Thank a teacher: in 1977 and the following years I got turned on to Shel (my Grandpa schooled me on Cash), Don Gato, Come See My Farm, Herb Alpert's "A Taste Of Honey", Styx's "Blue Collar Man" and "Renegade" in a big way. At the same time ironic that my closest influences couldn't read or write but were big fans of progressive rock.
This was originally a poem by Shel Silverstein. When sung by Johnny Cash, that makes it a little funnier.
Chris Lee Roger Whittaker version is good too :)
Shel Wrote A Boy Named Sue, also
@Bassgitter I think he wrote all the songs on this album
@Katalina Never knew about that. Somehow I think of Roger Whittaker as a little more serious than this.
I remember Dad bought this record and I played it over and over on our Victrola.
I got it on a 45 not long ago bought it on a rack for 10$ rack included
Greeeet Man !
