Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band - Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles Lyrics
I look at her and she looks at me
In her eyes I see the sea
I can't see what she sees in a man like me
She says she loves me
Her eyes
Her eyes are a blue million miles
Far as I can see
She loves me
Her eyes
Her eyes
Her eyes are a blue million miles
Far as I can see
She loves me
I look at her and she looks at me
In her eyes I see the sea
She says she loves me
Her eyes
Her eyes
Her eyes are a blue million miles

Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles Comments
Beautiful song
sweet Jesus I love this song
Her eyes are a brown billion miles . . . for me . . . .
Rex Mutt beautiful
He was synonymous with Austin Tx, in the '70s. Played the Armadillo many many times. That town was cool 40 yrs. ago. Now.....not so much.
you know I can hear a great singing voice there cool if he ever recorded a soft ballad >?
Is this blues or what? Idk but its good as fuck.
any other songs that are similar to this
Well hell yes for this.
LEGENDARY
What’s a pederast Walter?
Hauntingly Awesome
did they never rehearse filming on OGWT?
This shit mean af . Omfg . .the musicianship & composition . Killers
Hard to believe this is Captain Beefheart, but it's a beautiful song. CB is wonderful in so many ways.
I'm actually NOT here because of The Big Lebowski. But I love that they used this song in the movie. Anything that exposes more people to Beefheart is a good thing. God knows the radio isn't going to do it anytime soon.
I've decided that this is one of the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
I'm sipping on a White Russian as I listen to this.
Liked just for your name
I LOVE THIS WTF
great music
When I do Tai Chi in my living room with a white russian in my hand
Man, that rug really tied the room together.
The Black Keys made this better
This song starts off perfect sounding amazing then at the 44-45 second mark it turns to utter shite.. That's a shame, started off so brilliantly.
Captain Beefheart brought me here
The dude is not in. Leave a message after the beep ...Thanks man.
dude just wanted his rug back
Dude, I finally got the venue I wanted! I'm performing my dance quintet, you know, my cycle, at Crane Jackson's Fountain Street Theater on Tuesday night, and I'd love it if you came and gave me notes.
_"Far out."_
*nods knowingly*
He has so many great songs like the Spotlight Kid, Click Clack, circumstances, clear spot, electricity, my head is my only house, her eyes are a blue million miles,
that's like totally conductivity, it makes me wanna have a vivid convulsive, like a it's picnic.
No what I. Mean?
I need a new rug actually.
Where'd he get the time to write all these songs?
Beefheart always has such a distinctive sound. Unmistakable and unlike others
Interesting song.
Anyone else think Joaquin Phoenix would be good as Don in a biopic?
I dont give a fuck about Lebowski..ive dug The Captain for a blue million miles...
- Hey, Dude, her eyes are a blue million miles.
- Shut the f... up, Donny.
Oh, wow, I must have watched The Big Lebowski a million times and I never even knew Beefheart was in it.
that moment when u heard this in Levi's store in Regent street
Is it Captain Beefheart .. or .. Captain Bee Fart .. ? Can't remember
Clear Spot is definitely his best album .
great album
Thanks Juan I'm glad you agree.
It's his most accessible record, that probably has the most to do with it.
Yes, you're right it is his most accessible .
I came here from Yat-Kha's "Re-Covers" :)
there really needs to be a 10 thousand minute instrumental of this riff. i'd put it on loop all day
I love how this better than the majority of rock music yet its bad for beetheart
This isn't bad for anyone.
No commercial potential for a great very gifted and talented man.
Beautiful song
hmm nice song... i drink a white russian
Capitano Cuorbistecca <3
Fede bau io l'ho letto cuore di manzo ahahah
That is AMAZING.
I know I'm in the minority, but I think "Clear Spot" is the greatest single rock album ever. (Double album? Still gotta go with Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland.") I used to listen to this obsessively when I was in college in 1973. The album absolutely holds up after all these years!
One of the best I've ever heard by anyone.
I DONT ROLL ON FUCKEN SHABBATH
Yeah, it's not "shabbath".
It's shabbus
Shomer fucking shabbos
It's great when master filmmakers like the Coen Bros have the good taste to include some Beefheart in their films....this album is definitely for those who haven't cut their teeth first on less accessible music such as on Trout Mask Replica or Bat Chain Puller, but the great imagery of Van Vliet's lyrics saves the day here... Here's hoping that new listeners dig deep and listen to the Captain's anthology...it's all good ( even the "Tragic Band" period has its good moments)
This is probably the greatest song ever recorded in existence. That, and the fact that it plays in The Big Lebowski makes it that much more cool. Lmao
Nixon bowling
This is great blues, I wanna stand in my living room on a precious rug doing Tai Chi.
Jiggley Krowzer that rug could really tie the room together
@Neale Scott he lives on Radford.. Near the In and Out Burger.
una de las mejores canciones de mi álbum favorito del capitán..puto amo!!
this is beyond anything my music knowledge may and will know
stále nepřekonané
I too like pot
F-ck, this song is good !
So much emotion.... just absolute bliss...
when in the Big Lebowski does this play?
When The Dude's at home prepping up another White Russian as he listens to his voice messages, mainly Brett at Mr. Lebowski's office and the President of the Bowling Tournament. We then see him engage in a little improvised Tai Chi right before Marty appears looking for the rent because it was already the 10th of the month.
I hope you're not avoiding this call because of the rug, ha ha, which,I assure you, is not a problem
man, why am i only just learning about captain beefheart. hes right up my alley.
+Steve Richmond...always like to welcome another fan aboard the train that the Captain engineered.
up your what??
Marc Lynch “up my alley” meaning something that fits my taste. Not what you’re thinking haha
So good.
Amazing Track .. :D
Cap !
This song sounds like it should have a good 5 -8 minute jam sequence in the middle. WAY too short of a song!
check out the live version on the 'live from my fathers place' album
@Sam Rubin I will check it out thank you!
I super disagree
That was me… and six other guys.
great avi

_'Coitus?'_
The Seattle seven
am i the only one who jammed this in college without prior knowledge of it being in big lebowski
@Brian Fergus yeah ive liked beefheart since 06 hes a nut
guitaoist well... I think he was an eccentric genius, rather than a "nut". And one of the greatest blues singers of all time (people will kill me for that but he was a phenomenal vocal talent)
yes...you're the only one. congrats.
guitaoist I think I first heard this song on a Mojo magazine CD compilation.
were you in college before the movie?
Genius Beefheart
I saw him 4 times. So good. and very clever, talented etc. Unique. If he had not packed it in he would have been a "family favourite" with all us freaks who like Cooder, Muddy Waters, Beatles, Stones, Cole, Sinatra ,Franklin, Wodner, Dylan, Young, Nelson, Parton, etc etc etc etc
unbelievably beautiful a true GENIUS
Don lives! Great inspiration for soul prospectors. A blue billion miles. Yeah her eyes.
Over the Line!!!
bullshit dude. I'm marking a 8.
A world of pain.
Sometimes, there's a man...
::Beep:: Dude this is Smokey. Look, I don't want to be a hard-on about this, and I know it wasn't your fault. But I just thought it was fair to tell you that Gilbert and I will be submitting this to the league, and asking them to set aside the round. I don't know, maybe forfeit it to us. So like I said, fair warning. Tell Walter, I'm sorry.
::Beep:: Mr. Lebowski, Brandt again. Please give us a call as soon as you get in, and I'll send a limo. I hope you're not avoiding this call because of the rug, which I assure you is NOT a problem. We need your help and uh... well we'd very much like to see you. Thank you. It's Brandt.
The final "It's Brandt" makes the whole scene
I enjoyed this thread very much
You mind is doo-doo. Let it out.
OVER THE LINE!!! Mark it a 0 dude
Dude tomorrow's already the tenth.
Far out man.
damn just saw this on the 9th of March. cheers
Bugger! I make it the 13th! Does it matter? I'm a bit thick ya see!!
at Crane Jackson's Fountain Street Theatre on Tuesday night.
I'd love it if you came and gave me notes.
I'll be there, man.
yea, well that's just like your opinion, man.
Tomorrow is 4 years later.❤
This is the only Captain Beefheart song I like.
Berk Bronzeblast you haven't heard enough captain beefheart. Checkout candle mambo
Better than the fuckin' eagles.
That's a bummer man
*STRONG. MEN. ALSO. CRY.*
I don't get the fuss over Beefheart. I saw him perform with Frank Zappa. It was ok.
@Clive Bartlett From what I know/have listened to, I would say that those Zappa/VanVliet gigs were a way for two old friends to do something together and maybe pay some bills. Brilliance may or may not have happened as a result of such a conjunction. Which guy has the big "flashlight"? Oh, they both do. So much brightness can drown out the intentions and inspirations of both artists.
But Captain Beefheart is about brilliance the same way the Beatles and the Pixies are: the musical phrases and the structures --- the songs -- stuff that comes from nothing; when you start from zero and make a beautiful song that's a very powerful thing that attracts people.
Being also a part of the psychedelic era's mode of musical practice also brought out impressive long forms that are rightly legendary. Also, Mr. Van Vliet was often poetically captivating.
+Clive Bartlett Yeah, well, y'know, that's just, like, uh, your opinion man.
Way ahead of any RnB artist of his time, soul scouring lyrics and great use of rythym...that's what the fuss is about. Makes the Beatles and the Stones look like the pop acts that they knew themselves to be. It's sad that it's only after he died that his work was truly appreciated. Like Frank Zappa, Don was too much of a genius for his time, and only after we've lost these shining lights do we appreciate the nature of the genius they bestowed upon us.
@John Neunas Bongo Fury is such a great piece of work, though. One of my favourite albums.
I caught these guys opening for the Kinks in Detroit back in the early 70's. They were a treat visually and sonically. Been a fan ever since.
i surely dont get tired listening to new music to me
wake up
Shut the fuck up Donnie!
+Robert Wright
Calmer than you are.
Lady, I got buddies that died face down in the muck so that you and I can enjoy this family restaurant!
Somebody's got to wake up the current listening population to the truth that is music not this synthetic, canned, heartless crap passing for "great" now.
@probrojeffro Well said. I just watched the Grammy Awards show and was put off by the uniform blandness of most of it all.
STEVIE WONDER is always superb though.
The structure and delivery of Beefheart's music is so different and refreshing.
World music is always a welcome change of pace including the classic music of India, Persia, and China.
Roland Kirk, Miles, Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Weather Report, Return To Forever, Antonio Carlos Jobim, etc. are all a timeless joy to listen to and marvel at.
The classical music tradition of India alone is an entire universe of profound pleasurable sound to explore.
Love to attend as many Carnatic concerts as possible and Hindustani classical music concerts as well.
Classical Indian dance performances are accompanied by exemplary music too.
Our own Western classical music tradition is replete with multiple layers of different combinations of instruments performing countless compositions written by countless masters.
Popular music SUCKS in comparison.
I won't pretend to be enthralled by anything that doesn't even begin to reach or inspire me.
I take pleasure in being hard to please when it comes to music,
I can't, I have to take the dog out
Good to see you have your priorities straight.
Don't join this clown's crusade.
His class was cancled anyway due to zero attendance.
@TSpike73 lol awesome
@Frankincensed You forgot your fedora.
Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles !! This Is One Of My Favorite Captain Beefheart Songs !! A Classic And Will Live For Ever!!
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH..RIP DON
What a grooving song. possibly better than his Trout mask replica stuff. But hey
late era sweet beef is it's own special kind of pleasure
WHERE IS THE MONEY LEBOWSKI? WE WANT THE MONEY LEBOWSKI!!
SHITHEAAAAAAAAAAAD!
...obviously, you're not a golfer.
@JokermanUno its down there somewhere lemme take another look
Bunch of dipshits with a nine-toed woman...
Saw Captain Beefheart and his band perform twice and twice l enjoyed hanging out with him,his wife ,Jan, and the band till the morning hour! ( We ate at a Chinese restaurant and then partyed in their hotel room till the next day) The man and his music are legends..icons in my mind and hope someone has the sense to do a movie on this man's life! A composer,a poet,a painter ,a sculptor..a genius taken from us too soon because of. MS..He was a warrior in his final days! RIP Don Van Vliet...
Lynne Vogelsang very cool memory.
Can we be friends?
One evening around 1967 or 68 when I was a teenager I had the fun of visiting with the band in their red house in Woodland Hills That night Miss Plaster Caster came by to visit. What a scene. They were all very friendly to this kid who happened to hear about them being there and just walked up to the front door and knocked.
. . . you are very lucky to have that memory.❤
Lynne Vogelsang fuck someone doing a movie no offense lynne but the greed it takes to take someone’s artistic direction away from them and change it for a new generation of ears
This song makes me wish I had blue eyes, but 2 of my daughters do :D
this song makes me want to just punch myself in the head; middle and high school friend turned me on to Beefheart in 70's...he was lucky enough to see him live; i feel lucky enough to know about him period...another film ref is Benecio DelToro character in Things We Lost in The Fire listens to song "Clear Spot" on earphones; if you don't know the song yet do yourself a favor and go listen to it right now
In her eyes I see the sea...how absolutely and utterly beautiful x
Utterly exquisite! :D
This aggression will not stand man..
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Beefheart is so underrated
@punkpoetry At least you know what I'm talking about. I fear that Classical music is on it's way out. Those "Music Choice" channels on cable? They recently took off the only Opera channel, and one of the two Classical channels, yet there are 11 different Latino music channels on there. Symphonies, at least in the US, are closing down left and right. And unless you live in New York or San Francisco, forget about Opera! One of the only people I can talk to about Opera is my friend Katja, and that's only because she is from Germany!!
Not by me. I've been a big fan since 1968 or so.
That's the perfect response, +tumultus101.
@Frankincensed it seems that true genius is never recognised until the artist is dead. I got turned on to the like of Zappa and Beefheart by my older brother at a very early age. It's the only music we share any like for. My music teacher at high school was also a huge fan, and encouraged all of us to explore our tastes and experiment with other stuff that we wouldn't normally listen to. He was a huge influence on my musical tastes. Frank was completely correct in what he said about the state of the music business in the 80's...it started getting really shitty in terms of what was getting radio play then, and it's getting worse and worse, as time goes on. I was devastated when Frank died, because I knew there would be no-one like him again. Now Don has shuffled off the mortal coil also, and good, innovative music is so difficult to find...
@Al Whyte The 80s had plenty going on from many different genres.
It's nobody's fault that someone only knew She Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby and missed out on other songs like One of Our Submarines or Budapest by Blimp.
8 year olds dude....
@Ged Rooney
I am the Walrus
@Joshua Smaltz You are the smegman
@Joshua Smaltz XD
