Stuff evolves. I've listened to Canibus' older stuff and it sounds very mainstream to me. Once he unfortunately flopped, he turned into the more intellectual and anti-mainstream artist that we know today.

You can't just write Canibus off for losing one battle. Everyone has lost at some point, haven't they? Besides, Canibus had nothing to prove, really; Dizaster had EVERYTHING to prove, and he did, and props to him for that. However, to somehow write Canibus off as being one of the greatest lyricists of all-time, all because he lost a battle rap, is ridiculous. Talk to just about anyone and they'll tell you that Canibus is one of the best of all-time, without question.
