The sound background of this one is so sophisticated. EarOrgasm... Fan for years (decades) of Kate, I only discovered Aerial this week. Unforgiven I am. What a shock... And then (I am listening Youtube upside down, waiting for my ordered Aerial CD), I have switched to Sunset. What a slap in my face, in my soul.... the Flamenco part has jumped on me, stunning it is, perfect timing. And I am not a novice in music (55 yo). Such a Musical Genius. Practically, only Beethoven, in a different way of course, can compare. Il is due to the abilitly to CREATE, not COPY, even very well.Kate Bush is an unique genius.

I just discovered 50 Words For Snow last week

Maybe she should have released this as a second single. I know that it wouldn't have done huge numbers - it's too ethereally funky with no huge crescendo for that - but I'd have liked it to have been a single for posterity's sake so that it got more noticed as the moodily magical thing that it is. It's her latter day Cornflake Girl really. All gunslinger western in the background.

How can she write and perform something as awesome as this and then on the same album come up with some self indulgent crap like PI ?

It took 12 years to make the album. There might have been many years between the songwriting. I like Pi actually - it's quite like The Red Shoes ecclesiastical-style material.
