Bunton, Emma - Life In Mono Lyrics

Life in mono

The stranger sang a theme,
From someone else's dream
The leaves began to fall
And no one spoke at all
But I can't seem to recall
When you came along

Ingenue,
Ingenue,
I just don't know what to do

The tree-lined avenue
Begins to fade from view
Drowning past regrets
In tea and cigarettes
But I can't seem to forget
When you came along

Ingenue,
Ingenue,
I just don't know what to do

Ingenue, I just don't know what to do [X5]

Bunton, Emma Life In Mono Comments
  1. R.... P....

    Very good.

  2. J.... F....

I love this cover. The subtle differences in this song complement the original and viceversa.

  3. N.... K....

    Amazing 💞🙏👋

  4. c.... ....

    Pretty good cover.

  5. B.... D....

    Still better than original

  6. L.... T....

    Amazing!!!!!

  7. G.... L....

For me this is actually a bit better than the original. It has a denser, more classic orchestration. So it is more energetic in places where it falls flat in the original. Also not missing the 90s scratch sounds from the original. - Both of the singers aren't very artistic - enjoyable nonetheless. And if you want to give the praise to somebody give it to 18th century quint event sequence. It always works anyways.

Damn! This song has so many dislikes.

  10. S.... K....

I don't understand the hate on this version. I honestly love it. I can't get into the original.

  11. G.... M....

It sound like my laptop on low battery

  12. T.... H....

She ain't no Siobhan de Maré and that's for sure.

  13. A.... P....

I am sorry why does her voice sound like a robot? Too much autotune here or something? Make a cover Emma and make it yours, do not try to sound like the original. It didn't work.

  14. A.... ....

I always loved her and her voice. And I do enjoy this song quite a bit. It has a.... mysteriousness to it

  15. J.... ....

I knew absolutely nothing about this record before yesterday - this is the first time I'm hearing it. I’ve listened to both this and the original & my impression is that the original has an appealing, dreamy quality but ruined by over-production (esp the drum track). The scratching sounds REALLY cheesy. Emma’s version has less fluff but also less personality. Frankly, there’s not much to differentiate them. I just don’t think it’s a great song to begin with (sorry)

  16. W.... H....

    seriously...

  17. j.... ....

Emma did an AWESOME! job..her Soprano fits the mood of the song..fuck the haters!

  18. F.... V....

    Great great cover Emma

  19. t.... ....

at least Emma's got a good taste in choosing this song to cover..

    t.... ....

    indeed, emma tastes... good

  20. b.... ....

    OMG...STOP the madness...This is awful...

  21. A.... M....

I'm sure this people saying this version sucks, are the same that, if some artiste ever makes a cover of any Emma's song, will say: "I love it, better than original".

I don't get these YouTube users pissing covers.

  22. m.... ....

mmmm... No. But Good luck with the new market :)

  23. j.... ....

Why would someone ruin such a good song ?

  24. c.... ....

what up with those random pictures on the video? lol!

  25. S.... ....

AMAZING cover, Emma's voice suits the song perfectly, she sounds amazing, and the music is fantastic.

  26. m.... ....

Get the fuck out! what women ? only referred on the voice. don't care who the voice belongs to, dick face

  27. b.... ....

If this was the original version, everyone would be flipping out on Mono's version and saying it's shit, because let's face it, Siobhan's performance is hardly what makes the song.

  28. b.... ....

What a retarded, uninformed comment. The droning crap you spewed out will forever be more "drug addicted" than the woman you're referring to.

  29. i.... ....

Emma's an OK singer, but I have to give props to the ones who arranged this mix. That's where the real praise belongs.

  30. K.... ....

    omg nooo..... what a shit

    K.... ....

    Like you bitch

  31. L.... S....

an oryginal ver. much more beter. emma bunton is only one seson star and nothing more.

  32. g.... ....

The risk of doing a remake of a classic is that you are ultimately going to get compared to the original .... I have nothing against Emma, but this version falls flat in every way compared to the original by Mono. Stick to original tunes please, Emma!

  33. r.... ....

This is too close to the original version - Remakes can be great, but you need to make it your own. (Though I admit I liked the violin section towards the end)

  34. p.... ....

    lol what a joke version

  35. m.... ....

This is what happens when you copy someone else. this is what happens when you don't work hard when you make a song, when you don't like what you do and you just do it for money. Mono, just eclipses this half a sleep, drug addicted voice.

  36. M.... ....

    Nobody has original ideas anymore.

  37. m.... ....

I like the original better i must say

  38. M.... R....

emma bunton, thanks for trying but uh,hmm how do I say it, no no, hell no. listening to you makes like the original soooo much more than I already do. please don't :)

  39. a.... ....

why would you remake such an incredible song when you can bring NOTHING to it that is even close to the original? its like ok lets see how far we can degrade this masterpiece. i dont get it.

  40. J.... ....

this version makes me want to go fight international terrorists for some reason! and drink martinis that are shaken, and not stirred.

    J.... ....

Isn't it? Feels like James Bond soundtrack

  41. a.... v....

    Emma it s a Shame!

  42. C.... L....

I don't like it, I prefer the original version. It sucks!!

  43. M.... K....

The opening line just sounds terrible... My goodness. They try to push sex down our throats. No matter how hot she is on the album cover, this is very weak...

  44. M.... K....

The opening line just sounds horrible... Jesus...

  45. J.... T....

    awesome!!

  46. T.... ....

Horrible. There are indeed shades of grey, but this is black and white. Emma Bunton is a talentless hack.

  47. T.... ....

Not too bad - I love the more orchestrated rendition it's just - WOW!
    .

  48. T.... ....

@tattooedmike69 Pretty much I agree with you on this.

  49. T.... H....

I love this song, its one of my favourites especially when its sang by Siobhan de Maré... Baby Spice here nearly killed it.

  50. D.... P....

    STOP ! oO

  51. A.... ....

her voice sound so metallic, it's awful.

  52. J.... L....

    lovely version, especially the orchestration
