Buggles, The - Inner City Lyrics
Here with a suitcase in my hand
I walk the street to find a fortune teller
But when the future's in your palm
They read it like a book that lasts forever
One last train for the inner city
Run
You I know are like the rest
You're holding on with all the best intentions
But tear the fabric off your nest
You'll find the eggs have gone
and no one mentions
How you run
Run
One last train for the inner city
Here in the sun
There on the sand
Falling like angels
You hold out your hand
Turn on
Hold out
We will be there
In the end
Run
One last train for the inner city
Run
One last train for the inner city
Run
One last train for the inner city
Run

these songs make me feel fufucged up
★★★★★
also they TOOK THIS ALBUM OFF SPOTIFY AND IM MAD
Alex Baker Me fucking too. Do you know why they took it off?
Hitman Hurns i looked it up and google seems to think it has something to do with the artist or the label. my theory at first was maybe not enough people were listening to it. apparently sometimes stuff that disappears comes back though, so we can be hopeful
Alex Baker I hope so. I love that whole album but especially this song.
@Hitman Hurns afmelden
the buggles are absolutely dope
LUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated track
Great track and great performing
This is my travel music
2:23 Jesus Christ, and this came out the same time Human League's Dare was released. Absolutely underrated album
synths are to modern reckon this is late 80s
Nope, this is 1981. I know, hard to believe
Utterly gorgeous. "In the end....."
Masterpiece. Thank you, Felix. As always.
great song wow a great moment 2:57 to the end
Reminds me of Bronski Beat. Anyone else notice that?
@Lunarsight
Ah interesting point you bring up, I just finally got my copy of the brand new re-released A.I.M.R. album yesterday. I had to import it, but it was well worth it because the bonus tracks on it are worth the entire cost alone. And the nice interview with Trevor that comes in the jacket is great. You are correct, The Bugles existed before they were asked to come to YES, and Downes bailed on The Buggles to form ASIA. A.I.M.R. Is considered Trevors only solo album.
@Felixstryker I agree: all time top 10.
Yes, this is the original Buggles feeling.
Thx!
Thanks for the tip about the new CD rerelease. This is more exciting than a new Yes album
@cubdukat
That's the thing.......since it is being re-released it will loose it's "RARE" status for a while again and the price will drop right down to regular rates.
@cubdukat
I have not looked into it...but this was the official information of the re-release of Adventures In Modern Recording.
This album went out of print way back in 2001. And even then it was only comming out of Japan for a Canadian Price tag of $60.00 Bucks.
A very talented band, if not a bit strange...
Brilliant Song, but ripped from the CD version, it feels empty. The Vinyl version just seems so richer....
Thats quite odd.... This sounds different from the version I have on Vinyl..... ?
0:19 looks like Brandon Dicamillo lol
And they run....run to the inner city.
Brilliant, thank you!
