Buffett, Jimmy - Tampico Trauma Lyrics

I must look a mess I must admit
But I have been traveling quite a bit
South of the border where the law and order
Is kept by Federales who just grin
And tell you they just want to be your friend
They tell you they just want to be your friend
I left for Tampico last July
I jumped off that boat I almost died

There to greet us were pretty senioritas
I swore that I would not go home them
All those lovely ladies were my friends
All those sweet chiquitas they don't pretend
Como estas, Senorita?

That is all I really want to say
I was thrown out of the country yesterday
You see I was drinkin' doubles
Causin' lots of trouble
When the man looked in the window of the bar and he grinned
And said if you come back we just may not be your friend
I don't want to see you around here again
You come back next time we may not pretend
Hi Dee Ho Boys!

I can sing along with the rest of the non-worshiping Buffett fans, but this song takes my inner self right back to the time of release, late 70's. It seems to help if there might be a steady rain to complete the feeling of melancholy. Thanks Mr Buffett.

    instrumental break is extremely listenable.

are you aware of how incredibly mild that compliment is? "Yeah its music you can listen to"

  5. S.... L....

Is it me or do some of the riffs sound like "Hell In A Bucket" by the Dead? (This song pre-dates "Hell..." by about 10 years)

  6. E.... S....

my sister loved this song. she passed in 96. this makes me bring her back to life

This is one seriously bad-ass song.

  8. J.... G....

Sounds like Lowell George on the slide...

    J.... G....

I was thinking the exact thing!

    J.... G....

Lowell was dead by time this was laid down

    J.... G....

No he wasn't. This album was recorded in 1976 and released in 1977. George died in 1979.
