jay Aston I was 15 when I met her in city square dundee so star struck I swore I said fuck sakes it's Jay Aston she just looked and kept walking . I was a loved up teen in those days always had a thing for Jay Aston and I'm 50 now . I was so embarrassed swearing as she passed and often wonder if she remembers my terrible nervous outburst lol
Third single from their debut album, and also appeared on the American "Bucks Fizz" LP in '82. Not released on a 45 here; it could have done well on Adult Contemporary or maybe Top 40. Hit 20 in the UK.
A heartbreaker song. Takes me back to big mistakes and wishes that never came true. That's life I suppose.
I was probably the only American guy who was in love with Jay Aston. Maybe, maybe not, but none of the guys I knew and went to college with had heard of her. Their loss.

When Bucks Fizz tried, they could do really intelligent things, could create some really memorable songs. Sadly, their image was based on the cheesier end of pop with big hitters such as 'Land of Make Believe'. I imagine there was never a promo video recorded for this song simply because sophisticated and intelligent probably wasn't a direction that Bucks Fizz's record company ever wanted them to go in...

Bucks Fizz was unique, so was ABBA too
When people call them ABBA clones it wasn't because of their music! Just the fact they nicked their image of using two boys & two girls and the same was said about Brotherhood of man but these did try to emulate ABBA's music.
