Catherine Rapicano Loved your comment! I saw The River Tour. I always said, this was the best album he ever did. We actually went to out of the three nights that he played. And I can tell you the concert cost $17.00 This song struck a chord with me also! I’ve been listening to it since the early 80s. There was a 12 mile back up coming in to the concert venue. He waited for The arena to fill up. He came on at 8:15 PM and played to 12:45. It was an amazing show. I always said it was the best concert I ever went to.

@psywizard880 How great for you to see him on The River Tour! It really is a stellar album and probably high-up on peoples' choice for best songs at the time. $17 for the ticket lol incredible! Then he played for almost 5 hrs? that sounds like E-Street alright. They got energy from him, and who knows where he got it but having the audience stick it out with him must've brought Bruce renewed energy too. You're so fortunate you got to see this one, with The River songs and all the poetry of the soul that came with them. 🎵🎸

Did Springsteen ever produced anything as melodic as this one? I kinda liked most of 'Darkness on the edge of town' album but 'Point Blank' is in another league musically. Can someone point me to more Springsteen like this?

AS PE ​ named some gems for sure. Nebraska is definitely my favorite album of his. I also really like Stray Bullet, Back In Your Arms, Trouble in Paradise, When You're Alone, Valentin'es Day, Walk Like a Man, Highway Patrolman, and My Father's House. For me, seeing him perform My Father's House on Broadway was the highlight of that incredible show.

i've been a huge bruce springsteen fan since i was 10. i've seen him & the e street band 2x in concert. never did this song. however it is one of my top five favorite.

I knew a guy that use to play this song and sing it too boy do I miss him. I first met him in the 80's he took me to see him twice. I should have stayed with him. I miss hearing him play his guitar all night.
