Bruce Springsteen - Party Lights Lyrics
I know the girls well they grow up fast where you come from
You left behind what was asked and you were married baby oh so young
Now that little girl of yours looks like she's growing up overnight
But do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
He was gonna be your Romeo, you were gonna be his Juliet
These days you don't wait on Romeos, you just wait on that welfare check
While other girls your age are out with lovers taking in the night
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights when you're lying in bed at night
Sometimes I see you on the street and you look so tired
I know that job you've got leaves you so uninspired
I find you lying, all dressed up on the bed, baby, fast asleep
Go!
Then as I lean across the bed, darling, to switch out the light
I wonder if you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights when you're lying in bed at night
Grab your coat and grab your hat, go in the bathroom, put that make up on
We're gonna take that little brat, we're gonna drop her off at your mom's
Yeah just give me a sign, I'm waiting on the line tonight
If you miss the party lights
If you miss the party lights
If you miss the party lights when you're lying in bed at night
Do you miss the party lights when you're lying in bed at night
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights
Do you miss the party lights

Non ci sono parole!!! Ma solo applausi !! Per questa bellissima canzone!!!😄😄😍😍😍😘😘🎸🎷♥️🎶🌟💎💋
A lot of the lyrics on this outtake were subsequently used in other songs
Gave lyrics to Point Blank and Jersey Girl (the last verse that Bruce wrote)
Nifty key change.
GREAT SONG !!! GREAT VIDEO!!!
Amooo 💘 Love 💘 Bruce Springsteen forever 💘
Amazing song. This would be the best song in alot of artists' catalogs but this song didn't even make it on a Springsteen album. What a song. What a legend.

Point Blank
Hard to believe anyone could relegate this song to outtake status...but it becomes impossible to believe when you think about the fact that the sessions this song came from yielded an album with 20 songs! Almost anyone else would have killed to have put this out as a single in 1980, or Loose Ends, or Where the Bands Are, or so many other gems from the River sessions, but Bruce is such a rock & roll superhero he didn't need them for the record to be great. Unbelievable...
Happy Birthday today(July 2) to Roy Bittan. Cheers!
I love you bruce
My love
I love Steve Van Zandt's voice...
Beautiful song
So prolific as a songwriter, singer, novelist, actor, musician, performer, producer of genuine americana.
Great outtake!

Even his misfires are amazing...
This song is basically Jersey Girl crossed with Point Blank and its awesome.
Awesome job on this video for one of many great songs that should've made the record:)
How is this an outtake! Amazing!
Douche Bag😣

Thanks for giving me back 3 minutes of youth.
Someone seriously needs to do a tab sheet for the guitar solo around the halfway point in the song as well as how to play through the intro.
Che pezzo! Bruce rules!!!!!
Smooth Bruce
Welcome back to Sweden Bruce!
I'm a big fan from Brazil !! It seems like I've known this song since I was a teenager. Wonderful!!!!
Fantastic!
Hey, what's up? Its really funny stale abashed What's your opinion about that, guys
HIS VOICE WITH LITTLE STEVEN DOING THE HARMONY VOCAL IS PERFECT!! THE STUFF IN THE VAULTS IS BETTER THSN THE STUFF HE PUT OUT FOR THE RIVER SESSIONS!! NOW I KNOW WHAT LITTLE STEVEN BEEN TALKING ABOUT ALL THESE YEARS!!!
+John Berndt, Amen Brother !
Gran canción, me tiene enganchado
♡♥★
Love the vid
MUY BUENO
Che pezzo... che pezzo, cazzoooooo
I always loved the sound of The River, it was such a throwback to the 3 minute single. I'm so glad we're getting all these gems
to think that a track this solid was an outtake..... on a double album..... Only the boss.
J'avais 18 ans
It's a decent song from Bruce, but I'm not sure if I like the double lead vocal in this. It seems like it's from the same group of songs as "where the band's are"
This might be another one that grows on me after a few more listens.
Where do these photos come from? Fans?
Can't wait for the boxset so excited!
Why in the world did this get left off "The River"? Solid gold, to my ears!!!
Sounds like a "The Byrds" 's song.
Thank you Bruce!
thanks for remembering the days when you, Stevie, Vince and I spent too many late nights chasing shadows on the strip in and out of the Palace then to Mrs. Jays for cheep cold beer....
Excelente cantante
Love this song. This really is the Boss at his very best.
wow these lyrics are terrible. Glad he stuck with the his Amazing songs
all was great until he mentioned that welfare check and that just made it ghetto...or trailer trashy...
The main riff reminds me of "Listen to Her Heart" by Tom Petty. Great song!
Never like the album to begin with. Dancing in the Dark was the first release that had that Born In The USA commercial sheen to it. The song The River and Point Blank are incredible however. Wish the whole album had been filled with tracks such as those two.
Grande... Boss!
This song kinda sounds like a song I've heard before or maybe a few songs I've heard before from the River record. It's a lousy song but the several songs that made there way of it are excellent.
Envy everyone who grew up with this top rock-music in 70's and 80's!!!
Gracias, jefe.
buenísima!!!!
bowie and the boss are great
+ Kenia Carbera screw you go away
... your life is a joke, you're broke, your love life is DOA...
E niente, il Boss è il Boss!
Bad song for Bruce. Now I know why it wasn't on The River album. I bet he doesn't feel the same way then as he feels now having a daughter of his own.
WOW what a song .............!!!
Guys i heard Katy used *(AUTHENTIC HITS dot COM)* to get billion of views
+Gandhi Indira love this
+Gandhi Indira sure
Jesus Christ loves you repent of your sins and seek Him.
genial salutations depuis la suisse
lindo!!!!! Vc canta com a alma...
inspired from claudine clark party lights
Bruce also performed her hit a couple of times in the mid 70's
I love it and great video
Uncle Bruce ..thanks
I was watching ''we are the world'' Mv ... your voice brought me here ,, *-* Bruce Springsteen all the love
Them sideburns.
sad and glorious !
Love hearing Bruce's out-takes. Can see how this one eventually morphed into Jackson Cage, with bits of of Where the Bands Are, Little Things My Baby Does
great pictures/video too!
so many future songs rolled up into one! this song itself is pretty darn good.
What a song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melody sounds just like "The Little Things My Baby Does"
I'm just glad these outtakes haven't been re-recorded & Tom Morelloized.
@TtarArm
Just imagine if Bruce decided to replace the "Drive All Night" sax solos with a scratching Morello solo... lol
Relax haha you sound like a fucking four year old.
+Mad Mit I think Morello was during the whole High Hopes tour in 2014. He sometimes was present during Wrecking Ball tour in 2012-2013.
@TtarArm
He did the whole Australian leg during the WB tour.
exactly!
Boring. There was a reason it didn't make the album.
+chillgreg Would you prefer something with Tom Morello instead?
Yikes not at all. I LOVE The River period.
Holy fuck yes and if thanks even if the experience is never.. sure would.. if replaced that with moss food....dr. Will always got the bests ... Just loud just fuck just forget just in your mind just their was here come on come on hold us Bruce hold us i am....understand energy compassionate foolish great touched me awesome....
Wow!!! A little elements from Point Blank and lyrics Bruce put in for Jersey Girl. Fantastic!!!!
It is. But Bruce added his own lyrics for his cover. The whole we will drop that little brat off at your Moms. Those lyrics were not in Tom Waits'. Sorry for not clarifying. Lol
Gotta love this. Where else can you see the behind the scene magic of an artist in action... This may be a song that didn't make the cut only because Bruce pulled the lyrics for Jersey Girl...
Only Bruce could leave this one out of an album... everyone else would have included it on his/her CD. Great song - and yes: it reminds us "Jersey Girl" in some verses... Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil.
It's great to hear these outtakes! Keep em coming
Seriously...who composes music and writes lyrics like this anymore? No F bombs being dropped, no political statments, singing about girls and going to parties. and raw production with real instruments. I miss those days.
+John Berndt agree with your comment. Bruce at his best, simple & clean. But pure Bruce. always love when he plays harmonica.
+John Berndt Sorry you don't see a very overt political expression in this song about working dead end jobs that provide a greater wealth for others which is mixed in with this great song. That is part of his poetry; the ability to articulate the brutal aspects of class and race in subtle and poetic ways. Bruce has been political since the first album and he will remain so. All while doing it in a rock and sould context.
+Shore Fire in fairness to Bruce he only tried the rapping thing once
Twenty one pilots Taylor swift etc
Not only that you misinterpreted Bruce's lyrics, did you seriously just write that no one today writes lyrics about "girls and going to parties"? Who doesn't write about that in current mainstream music? All generic pop and hip hop nowdays is basically just about that.
Sounds good. Can't wait to get the CD set! The Boss at his best!
This SOUND was the best. Nothing has come close since
David Levy 😔 very true
great track, but most of the lyrics wound up in better songs.
LOVE IT - the retro feel - photos, lyrics, sound - ---so great that Bruce and his team are sharing all of this history -THANK YOU!
These lyrics got spun into I Wanna Marry You and Jersey Girl, right? Maybe even more songs? Love the vintage photos in this video.
+Tony P The final verse you hear on the '75-'85 live set was penned by Bruce. And you see those lyrics in the second verse of this song.
Cool, did not know that:)
+Tony Holt the lyrics in the second verse are from Point Blank
Third verse...my mistake.
+Patrick Dugan I hear The Little Things (My Baby Does) in the melody as well, from The Promise
Another hit!
BOSS
Amazing. Tracks CD2 style. Springsteen was at the top of his game
Great song! Reminded me of "Brilliant disguise"
Jersey girl
