It’s still a masterpiece. “Hello darkness my old friend, i ve come to talk to you again” sounds a bit like “Where the river runs to black, I take the schoolbooks from your pack”. I think this song is about the poor people who decided to jump off the World Trade Center in 2001 and their memories that went through their minds before they jumped....very heartbreaking sad though...

When I bought The Rising my then 14 year old son said “what’s this rubbish” We listened in the car on the way home and he was hooked. Saw The Boss at the Albert Hall......Devils and Dust acoustic set..... just him and his guitar.......the best gig I’ve ever been to....He closed the show with Dream Baby Dream ....house lights on ....everyone on their feet spellbound......my son standing next to me
