Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A. Lyrics
Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says "Son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said "Son, don't you understand"
I had a brother at Khe Sanh fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go
Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A.

Bruce Springsteen Born In The U.S.A. Comments
Esta canción realmente es una crítica a la participación de Estados Unidos en la guerra de Vietnam y al trato que se le dió a los veteranos después de esta, no es un himno patriótico como muchos creen
Damn you can really feel the emotions in this mans voice

This songs makes me proud to be an American. Maybe president trump should use this song on his campaign trail.

WHY IS THIS SONG NOT A RACIST??
🗽🗽🗽
Your powerful country lost the war with Vietnam.
We bombed the shit out of them 😂😂
58,000 US casualties vs 4 million Vietnamese casualties
@IMxYOURxDADDY still lost
We lost the meaningless war with ourselves. Country names are meaningless. Your country is no better or worse.
@culwin sure I'm just trying to anger this ignorant pAtRiOtIc dude
Bruce puts up a front that he's down with blue collar workers in USA but. He is POS liar that does nothing but put down his own country...
He's not putting down his country. He's simply telling the truth about how badly American soldiers were treated when they returned home. America and other countries had no business sticking their noses into a truly domestic issue in Vietnam.
Grown ups 2 ;(
Bring our troops home #Trump2020
How about we stop fighting a useless war.

Must have been ~Oct 2013 myself and a coworker from China steal a company car to hit the Autobahn and tour Germany out of Kassel. My coworker "Rocky" his American name grew up on a dirt floor was just learning to drive came from W China. A big man but gentle as a lamb we are good friends now.
The company car had a big loud logo on it ... this song was on the radio the sun was coming up we tore out of town. POP camera flashes. Automated speeding ticket w photo issued to my company ... catches us both fists raised in the air singing Born in the USA. We drove 3800 kilometers in 2 days company gas card covered it all ... I wish I still had that pic but the memory is forever. 🇺🇸🇩🇪🇨🇳

No sabía que esta canción era de Bruce Springsteen, me di cuenta, ahora, es un gran tema y un gran clásico.
Wow genial que hayan hispanohablantes en este vídeo de esta gran canción
I was born in the USA, and I'm proud. I have a weird last name and am frequently asked if I'm "even an American citizen".
Yea u were born here but allow others to stand & fight for ur freedom. U have no idea what it takes to keep us free do u! Yet u say oh lets not go to war yet thousands died in a tower & u say oh wow lets go talk with them. Thats why u enjoy freedom of speech because many have shed blood for u to have it. U no fool freedom didn't come by talking it took taking the british down. Thats why we have freedom . Go to england & support them cause u are not a USA man! U leave off the backs of soldiers who have died so ur ass can sing what u want . Don't forget that! Ur ass don't like war cause ur scare to pick up a gun & defend this country & until u do we call u British!!!
Vietnam wasn't gonna do shit to America's freedom. All that war did was scar troops for life and give them ptsd.
I love the 80’s but this must be one of the shittiest songs ever made
wow. you are mean. unhappy much?
Brian Foster this song literally sounds like something that is made by a child. And he’s just repeating the same sentence and chords throughout the whole song. Just another bland, commercial song
THE boss!
Obama and Hillary love wars
It's so profitable
It is unfair to pin all the wars which america has been involved in on two people. Every American president has started a war or continued a war. They were used for the control of oil. They were for power. But the loss which they have caused. The terrorism which started due to the intrusion will be a reminder forever. War is awful and is often used as a trump card via stronger countries for profit.
Love U.S.A.🇺🇸🇺🇸
Booooooorn in the U.S.A i was
booooooorn in the U.S.A
The song mentions getting into a jam, which subsequently led to the choice of service or assumingely jail. He choose the military, which led down the path of war and harsh treatment of returning vets.
Point is, yes the vets were treated horribly. But he was not a victim, the choice was made to break the law ... the choice was made for military (vs jail), the rest is history. That is what America is about. The freedom to choose and live with those choices. People tend to forget that part.
i understand this song so much more being a 47 year old veteran than i did at 13... Thank u to my brothers and sisters in arms...
I didn't know Adam Sandler could sing...

Everytime I saw this songs of the rock icon Bruce Springteen at YouTube well I remember when I was in collage.. Late of the 80's and 90's
Thank you joey
Im no American but this song makes me feel like one
So many people don’t know the truth behind this song.
I remember those days. I remember the body counts on mainstream media everyday when mainstream media was real news. That's right they had body counts every single night of who got killed and wounded and missing every single night, on the evening news. I remember seeing the movies on the news of the caskets coming off the airlines and the transports. I remember how the men were treated when they came back alive or maimed. They were cussed at and spit on buy a bunch of ignorant sons of bitches who's anger was not directed in the proper way. Ignorance goes both ways people if you're in the military you need to just quit. You need to find a new profession. The elite make money off of your blood. A lot of military know this it's not like it used to be and it's building. I support the troops. I support the individuals. But I do not support the elite. Quit your job get another job. If you simply do not participate in their bullshit, the bullshit will stop. Bruce, your brother died for nothing. Many many other men 55000 of them died for nothing other than corporate profit Bell helicopters Monsanto few others I'm sorry for you bro. Thank you for writing the song. Goodness bless you Bruce
I feel like I won't ever get tired of listening to this song. Time is Endless.
With this song if u are born in the USA are better than who is born in other places? LOL kidding love this song . A dude in Italy aks a black man in front the pub.. how many time u are here? 6 years answer him oh oh u realy cant feel the bore if this pub is nice too Ah Ah Ah 🇺🇸🇵🇷🇵🇲🇲🇽

Angry White Male at his Peak. :_)
Does that idiot trump REALLY wanna cross THIS guy?
I guess not, but just never realized that such a badass would be supporting LGBT rights/marriage...but guess i was wrong??
@PreTSD your right, Bruce is an amazing man, and his blue collar upbringing debunks every trumpist talking point about his critics being only "elitists". Trump couldn't even actually find anything bad to say about Bruce, so calls him "little Bruce" and then directs his anger towards people who listen to his music and call THEM idiots too
@Rick Enman Well they are both from Jersey and so from what i've heard it's all about Jets/Giants up there, and anything else is nothing in comparison...??
@Rick Enman Well after listening to that special on SiriusXM Springsteen channel where he was talking about the album Darkness on the Edge of Town, he comes off as even more intelligent than i imagined and obviously you don't write such songs as he has without having some smarts! In spite of his political views, i think even Trump can see that he has his reasons for feeling that way about certain social issues. And i don't even agree with many of them but i do at least respect the man as a musician and songwriter and for being a very considerate and overall good guy.
Imprecinante
I love USA
This song is about how the government forced people into the millitary and how when they came back they were disrespected beyond all belief by citizens and the government itself. Stop saying this stuff is patriotic and putting you're politcal spin on it becuase it makes Americans look like idiots.
Protest pure... Good Song I FROM BRAZIL!
