Bruce Dickinson - Bring Your Daughter... To The Slaughter (Original Soundtrack Version) Lyrics

Honey its getting close to midnight
And all the myths are still in town
True love and lipstick on your linen
Bite the pillow make no sound

If there's some living to be done
Before your life becomes your tomb
You'd better know that I'm the one
Unchain your back door invite me around

[Chorus:]
Bring your daughter, bring your daughter to the slaughter
let her go, let her go, let her go
[x2]

Honey its getting close to daybreak
The sun is creeping in the sky
No patent remedies for heartache
Just empty words and humble pie

So get down on your knees honey
Assume an attitude
You just pray that I'll be waiting
Cos you know I'm coming soon

[Chorus]

So pick up your foolish pride
No going back, no where, no way, no place to hide
Let her go

Bring your daughter, bring your daughter
Bring your daughter, bring your daughter
Bring your daughter, bring your daughter to the slaughter
Bring your daughter, fetch your daughter
Bring your daughter, fetch your daughter
Bring your daughter, fetch your daughter to the slaughter

[Chorus x2]

Let her go [x4]

Bruce Dickinson Bring Your Daughter... To The Slaughter (Original Soundtrack Version) Comments
  1. R.... S....

I prefer this over Maiden's version, this one sounds a bit grittier and has more "stomp" to it.

  2. P.... H....

I like this version more than Iron Maidens ! It's fits Bruce solo more than Maiden to me...and i was disapointed in "No prayer for the dying" anyway...bummed cause Adrian left..i like Gers on Bruce's solo stuff

  3. M.... G....

    origado Reegis bons tempos

  4. L.... F....

    Grande Régis Tadeu!🤘

  5. M.... B....

The drummer on this version plays it much better than McBrain.

    M.... B....

    Yeah. Better recorded and mixed.

  6. V.... ....

I like the Maiden version more, but this one is solid. Has a more haunting sound.

  8. i.... d....

Bruce's voice is deeper and more powerful than the version made with Iron Maiden. In a way, this version lacks the characteristic touch of Harris's bass and Murray's solos.

  9. E.... B....

Vim por causa do Régis Tadeu

  10. M.... 8....

As duas versões são boas adorei 👊😎🎸🔥

  17. G.... G....

    better than iron maiden's version

  18. D.... ....

BRING YOUR DONUT TO THE SLAUGHTER

  19. D.... ....

это версия такая охуитительная, басуха, микс звучит лучше намного, чище и качественнее, хор в припеве, заебись, я кончил и закурил. охуенный хард-рок.

  20. C.... W....

I can't believe just because he was Gillan's fan, he gave a job to this piece of shite guitarist. And as
if this wasn't enough, he brought him to Iron Maiden.....I am speechless. I'd never sign this record with this ''solo'' on if I were the producer......I'd think it was a joke or some prank

  21. 6.... ....

This would have been a top 10 hit at the peak of 80s heavy metal. This is better than the single releases by Maiden in 1990, which wasn’t bad

  22. B.... B....

This song I will dedicate to the young woman who I will love

  23. f.... ....

This song was in the movie ??🤔

  24. A.... M....

    1:21 Krueger looks like Eddie...

  25. Z.... N....

21 Savage slaughter your daughter sounds just as demonic if not more.

  26. E.... R....

    Better than maidens

  27. R.... ....

This version is SO MUCH BETTER than the Maiden rehash. Hands down, this has a much darker vibe to it. The vocals are plenty more raw and the additional backing vocals help seal the deal.

  28. R.... C....

I just watched the movie but didn't hear this, when is it played?

  29. Y.... G....

    Freddy is here
    Freddy is her

  30. C.... C....

    Janick en acción!!

  31. J.... O....

I really like this song! \m/

    J.... O....

I love this version and Maiden's version too! \m/

  32. M.... d....

Would love to hear Adrian smith play on this track

    M.... d....

There was a tour they did after the Brave New World Tour where they played this song, Adrian Smith was in the band at the time.

  33. a.... m....

    crap version

    a.... m....

This is not a version but the Original song.

    a.... m....

You mean you prefer the cover version

  34. A.... P....

    Dumb movie.

  35. S.... C....

I never knew this existed. Its different and i like it. Does sound like Bruce has had a few😂

  36. C.... S....

hum this version reminds me of "No Lies"

    C.... S....

Or maybe Lies reminds of this song ;)

  37. J.... H....

    Truly orGaZmic!

  38. W.... A....

Better than the Maiden version, but I miss the bass-guitars sound

  39. I.... ....

"And all the MILFs are still in town"

    I.... ....

@folladordeprostis Sorry to interrupt, but... what are your thoughts on Freddie vs Jason? Would-be epic but enormously long to the point where I totally lost interest, about three times. Sadly. xD

    I.... ....

Moonchild I saw it in 2007, it was ok , did you like it. ?

    I.... ....

@folladordeprostis My biggest problem with it was that I mentioned, otherwise okay. I enjoyed the scene where Freddie taunts Jason by pretending to be his mommy.

    I.... ....

Moonchild by the way this song was in the nightmare elm st 5?? What part of the movie

    I.... ....

@folladordeprostis Aaaa Iiiii... Don't remember... Old XD Joking. But I knew the song, the band version, since I was a kid ^^

  40. S.... P....

You had everything here. How could they'd totally screwed it up in the No prayer for the dying's version.

  41. 2.... ....

When in the film was this played? I have the 2004 7 disc ultimate collectors edition if that makes any difference.

    2.... ....

I think was not in the movie

  42. s.... ....

Love this song, just plain fun lol

    s.... ....

Then check the new HD video that I made for it.

  43. C.... G....

dokken iron maiden yeah yes bruce steve don jeff freddy is the beast 666 cool and lol 100%

  44. C.... G....

the number of the best please

  45. A.... C....

    BETTER THAN WITH MAIDEN <3

  46. T.... C....

Bruce sounds a little like Alice Cooper in this version. I actually think this version sounds better than Maiden's.

    T.... C....

Listen to my updated video of this song.

  47. B.... V....

Hate the backing voices singing "slaughter" and otherwise the song is more plodding and not as driven, I'll take NPFtD instead.

  48. C.... K....

Apparently this version of the song received a Golden Raspberry for Worst Original Song if Wikipedia is to be believed. Frankly, I'm not sure why. It's silly and goofy and kind of dumb, and I can't pick out the meaning (probably because if Bruce Dickinson is to believed it was written in three minutes), but is it REALLY worse than half the stuff on modern radio? It just seems like a more macabre version of Monster Mash to me, especially since it was made for Nightmare on Elm Street 5.

And frankly, for something that was written in three minutes it's certainly better than what most artists would write in that length of time.

    C.... K....

Joseph McDermott bite the pillow... unchain your backdoor... yeah you might be on to something.

    C.... K....

@Sam Allen What a load of shit. Those Hollywood cuck-critics rarely understand good music, unless it's a cheesy ballad from a shitty drama flick. Worst Maiden album? I can think of couple others. Besides, this was NOT from the Maiden album, this was Bruce Dickinson doing it solo. LEARN!

    C.... K....

Sam Allen i’ll have you know that No Prayer For The Dying is an underrated classic of an album

    C.... K....

It happened yes but anything like this has to be taken with a grain of salt. This wasn’t long after Jethro Tull beat out One for a real award if you remember.

    C.... K....

The razzie awards are a bunch of bullshit anyways, they just go with whatever's popular to hate

  49. n.... ....

No prayer for the dying is better!

    n.... ....

Eh I always found it to be one of their weaker albums (along with Fear of the Dark and the two Blaze albums)

  50. L.... ....

There is not that much of a big difference between this and the IM version....as far as I can hear. This version is a bit slower and has this doubled vocals in it's hook. Bass and drum sound more "clean" to me....if thats the right word.
    Both versions are good imho.
Sounds a bit like the style of ACDC ( simplicity of bass, drums and guitars)

    L.... ....

+LP_Stand_Art To be honest, the last two albums before dickinson left, especially fear of the dark, are very ACDC influenced if you ask me.

    L.... ....

omg I totally agree on that AC/DC bit. it's really dry and chuncky, in a good way.

    L.... ....

LP_Stand_Art there’s a huge difference, but they’re both good imo

  51. E.... ....

was this song ever in the movie?

    E.... ....

    VHS version

    E.... ....

    +Stigma oh thanks

    E.... ....

    @EddieTheGreat13 No problem

    E.... ....

I remember hearing it on the original DVD release but not on the newer DVD/blu-ray from 2011, unless i missed it when i watched it the other day, i remember it going off in the scene right before the credits but on the 2011 dvd it was replace with some crappy rap song.

  52. w.... ....

    VERY SUCKS !!!

    w.... ....

    much comment

  53. M.... B....

I prefer this version. Solo is 10/10 and the "To the Slaughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhteeeeeeeerrrrr" part with doubled vocals is great". Much more atmosphere too.

    M.... B....

+Marcelo Bassalo check the HD video version of the song that I made.

  54. t.... ....

@Madmartigan i agree. im glad we have both

  55. L.... T....

It's not on Tattooed Millionaire. Is there a single out there of this song? I am not interested in No Prayer's version.

    L.... T....

+It is now on the 2005 reissue of Tattooed Millionaire 2CD edition.

    L.... T....

Thanks. I 'll buy it. I have the original Tattooed record and the 45' Bring your Daughter, Iron's version.

  56. L.... T....

Is this Janick playing the guitar solo?

    L.... T....

    +Lapo T Yes.

    L.... T....

Yes, this song was done by the same band that did Bruce's album Tattooed Millionaire. Janick was the only guitarist in that band.

    L.... T....

Not really my favorite guitarplayer. Adrian and Dave both have more of a tasty kind of playing. FI The Seventh Son album is more mature sounding compared to Tattood Millionaire. But, that’s only my opinion.

  57. T.... ....

You can listened the other video of this song that I made :)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JMJUsAFUx4

    T.... ....

THEDREAMASTER judas priest please turbo lover cool and lol ok 100%

    T.... ....

THEDREAMASTER the beast is born child dream freddy krueger yes 100%

  58. S.... ....

Far superior to Maiden's rather lame version. The rhythm section is much better here - the bass pops and the drums groove and drive.  Harris/McBrain sound totally stiff in comparison.

    S.... ....

I must be in the minority, but I prefer maiden's albums from brave new world onwards over their 80s album (with the exception of the dianno albums)

    S.... ....

+RyanThompsonGuitarist Not sure I'd go as far as to say I prefer them, but they are certainly underrated. My favorite of their post Brave New World albums is actually most people's least favorite: The Final Frontier since it is their most progressive in sound.

Nothing beats Somewhere in Time for me though :)

    S.... ....

I'm not a big fan of this song to begin with, but hearing this version for the first time, I must say I'm not a fan of Bruce's vocals in this version. He sounds pretty subdued, as if this recording was nothing more than a demo. It's like he was standing 5 feet away from the microphone. :P

    S.... ....

@SabuPtolemy how exactly was The X Factor a disaster? I thought that was one of their best albums. A darker side to Maiden.

    S.... ....

+Alex Bouffard Even though I prefer the early albums by Maiden with Dickinson (From The Number of The Beast til Seventh Son of a Seventh Son) I like all of the Maiden albums so much(except for Virtual XI that I think it's too much repetitive) and my favorite post Brave New World album is A Matter of Life and Death, i like how this album can be very heavy and very melodic at the same time, but I think that TFF is underrated too and that TBOS is overrated(in my opinion).

  59. s.... ....

This is better than the Iron's version. I like the drums here, sounds big and powerfull

    s.... ....

    +dana qowkdpokwd No bass?!

    s.... ....

+THEDREAMASTER compare Maiden to this version. As u see: "no" Bass

    s.... ....

I hear hear in this version the bass very well.

    s.... ....

+THEDREAMASTER yes, but I have to agree that comparing to the Maiden rhythm section, this one is very poor. comparing these two versions makes you realize that it's the bass and drums that make heavy metal heavy. although this version has some kickass drunken vocals, like 0:43.

    s.... ....

Steve Harris' bass usually dominates the soundscape in Iron Maiden. We're so used to it that we don't notice it anymore by now, but...

  60. i.... ....

this one is way better than the maiden version

  61. G.... K....

Was this ever in the movie? I can't remember.

    G.... K....

    VHS version

    G.... K....

    Stigma what scene?

  62. M.... A....

A música não aparece em nenhum momento do filme?

  63. C.... ....

I liked this version more, those multi layered vocals on the chorus really add something that Maiden's version lacked

  64. M.... ....

Both versions are great in there own way

  65. L.... F....

    Best version ever.

  66. T.... ....

    Goddamn it Steve!

  67. T.... ....

    Indeed.

  68. b.... ....

Love this version and prefer it to the Iron Maiden version

  69. R.... F....

But I know for a fact that at least some of the soundtrack tapes with the song got out, because I bought it in Gatlinburg TN in 93. Didn't even know he was the singer in Maiden, but really liked the song. Side note, while mom and sister banged on my door and told me to keep The Devil in my room (what did they know?)

  70. W.... ....

I didn´t know that it was listed in the credits. But the story was that it was going to be in the movie. Then Steve Harris heard the song and really liked it. So they quickly took it out of the movie before the release, so they chould have the song on the Iron Maiden album No prayer for the dying. So it was never in the film.

  71. D.... J....

this was the only reason i watched this movie and was a tiny bit angry when i did not hear it

  72. r.... ....

both versions are awesome in different ways

  73. B.... D....

Yes The maiden version is much better as you miss Harris and McBrain. But I learned the maiden first and only heard this now , it's tempo is slower.

  74. D.... ....

The Iron Maiden version is better imo.

    D.... ....

    Daniel nope

    D.... ....

Everyone has their own opinion. I personally like both versions.
