Browne, Jackson - You'll Get It In The Mail Today Lyrics

I've been up all night
I've been writing this letter
And I think I might have found a better way
To tell you all the things I've got to say
I put it in writing and you'll get it in the mail today

Well I don't know but I can't help feeling
That you got to stop your double-dealin' ways
Cheatin' on me is a crime that never pays
And that's all in the letter and you'll get it in the mail today

Well I would tell you to your face
But you'd just lie to me
Put you in your place
But you'd just try to defy me

Been up all night
Pencil and a paper
And I think I might have found a safer way
Say goodbye without much more delay
Well it's all in the letter and you'll get it in the mail today
I don't mean tomorrow
It's all in the letter and you'll get it in the mail today
I don't mean no Western Union
It's all in the letter and you'll get it in the mail today

    Jackson brown I'd awesome

So glad this is back on YouTube. It was taken down for a while, and I need this to come back to...always. What a magnificent concert. I'd have given anything to attend. I'm 73; it doesn't get any better than this. Glad I was born when I was.

  3. M.... W....

Well, whoever thought of adding the old Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs song, Stay, to the end of Load Out, was a f#kkn genius.

  4. V.... V....

Hes coming back to NOLA this year, 2020, with James Taylor. I WILL be there!❤

  5. V.... V....

Saw him in NOLA a couple of years ago. I'm a child of the 70s. His music lives on!❤

  6. J.... ....

I’m in high school right now and for my entire life when someone (mostly teachers 40-50) hears my name they say Jackson Brown (my name doesn’t have the e) like the singer? I just shrugged it off and said sure. Then last year I was like if so many people know this guy he must be pretty good. I listened to a couple of his songs, got hooked by the Pretender and Doctor My Eyes, loved the truth in These Days, but really stayed for Stay. The transition between the Load Out and Stay is so perfect every time my Spotify playlist gives me a John Cena Takis add after the Load Out I feel sad.

    J.... ....

    I’m sorry it’s so long.

  7. D.... Y....

One of my fave song of all time🥰💓. Who’s here February 2020?

  8. O.... G....

    When music was good

  9. J.... W....

Saw him at a save the whales concert in San Jose I think in 78 or 79. He was great but the " Bob Dylan " from Japan was a crack up. He played his guitar backwards upside down and we didn't understand a word he said and it didn't save one whale.

  10. B.... M....

    Still listening in 2020 💙

  11. B.... G....

    Wonderful!

  12. E.... ....

July 3rd 2003 Jackson Browne/Steve Earl and The Dukes/Keb' Mo' I was working for a venue in NH (taking tickets at the gate), after the show I was asked to help with the load out as the crew was short-handed. I was singing this tune as I was working but the irony was lost on the clueless roadies that were doing the LOAD OUT for JACKSON BROWNE!

  13. M.... F....

favorite comment every of this song combination is of the guy stopped at a red light and he had it blasting on his radio a cop pulled up next to him and screamed put it up louder.

  14. s.... ....

  18. R.... B....

I used to play this on the boom box every year on last day Sunday of San Diego Comicon every year. I set up booths out there every year from 1970 thru 2012. Long time.

  19. M.... N....

I love this song so much💜

  20. S.... ....

I move out of my house when i finished University at 24 yo in january 2015, in that time my father and i cant stand each other due to our very alike attitudes, a very intense ones, i wanted so hard to get out of it that i accept a job offer in another state, just 1 week after i finished my studies, even when i already had a great job. My mom was always the kindest person i knew and she didnt want me to go so far away, but i left neverless.

After that, when i visited my parents, one way or another my father and i were always kind and help each other with any stuff around, like he always was pushing me to be better, to be independent and have my own triumphs. And i started to realize that he wasnt always mad at me neither he hate me like i though, ou contrary. He was just preparing me for the life. That year was his last christmas and new year, a holidays that i was on another place without them. He passed away on a monday morning in 2016 at just 50yo, when i was working far away from him, my mom said to me that in that new years dinner & family party, he said said that years speech for the family, and remark how proud he was of me, something i didnt know before. We went to his favorite place to fish, in the gulf of Mexico to throw half of his ashes

Now im an aeronautical engineer, still live away from them but i try to visit my mom’s 2 times a month and now im her companion in family reunions, since my brother and sister dont go with her often.

I hear this song and feel, specially the 2nd part, and realize how much my dad miss in our life, and i’ll throw my entire job and money just to have dinner with my hole family 1 more time.

  32. S.... 4....

Fellow Long Islander here. So enjoying this right now. Brings me way back to my long lost youth. Thanks sooo much. God bless 🇺🇸🙏🏻

  33. s.... b....

My grandma told me a story about this song. Her older sister was dating a man, they were at his house when my grandma was a little girl, she told her sister that their mother wanted them to come home now. This song played in the background, my grandma thought it was so sweet that she let her sister stay, just a little bit longer❤️

  34. 2.... ....

David Lindley is a beast and that voice is an inspiration

  35. .... ....

    尾崎豊のハイスクールロックンロールというライブで高校生の頃の話になってジャクソン・ブラウンを聴いていたって言ってたけど似てるな〜素敵😍

  36. S.... W....

    Great Song

  37. H.... ....

  38. J.... G....

Entering the 20s and still listening to these beautiful classic songs

  39. a.... b....

This will be on the very detailed song list I've left for my funeral. bbq/swim party or bonfire/wienie roast party(Midwest weather dependent) 😁

  46. B.... ....

Sorry for you 731 Idiots, with a very poor taste in music. I hope your thumbs get better.
Keep up your stupidity, you are making us all look so brilliant. See comment Below.

  47. k.... f....

Jackson Browne knows earth is flat too guys.

  48. G.... U....

Look kids. No auto tune. No computer effects. Just a master of his craft surrounded by masters of theirs. We called em musicians and we’d wait days in line in the snow to get first crack at great seats. Tickets were around 8 or 9 bucks. Those days are gone but I’m glad I was a 15 year old who got to be there for all of it.

  49. T.... V....

    The 70's RULED!

  50. P.... P....

This is the song that made me love U AND ALWAYS WILL XXX

  51. P.... N....

    H.... i....

Like you know them personally.....give it a break. You sound like a low watt AM morning zoo jock.

  53. L.... K....

I'm scared as hell to say it because I built up a pretty strong wall around my heart.. But I really miss my Matt.. This was his favorite song.. I think of him often and wished we didn't end like we did.. But it had to happen because I was so deeply in love with him..He not with me.. I see so much that reminds me of him.. Anyways.. I'm lost in life.. I could use a friend.. I wish it could be him.. ❤

  54. A.... L....

    What a song, that’s a masterpiece, great.

  55. J.... B....

    Ramses shaffy pastorale

  56. o.... ....

By the way, the title says ‘live at BBC’ and you will find this concert listed as such in many places, but it was actually recorded in the USA, I believe in Maryland, part of Jackson Browne’s tour of that year. The BBC merely recorded the footage and released it as ‘Live at BBC’.

Edit: the concert was held on August 20, 1978, at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland.

  57. o.... ....

There is so much emotion and sincere gratefulness in his voice. This live version is the best rendition he ever did.

  58. S.... V....

  60. j.... h....

One my favorite memories is in high school,a guy I was in music and drama with t and played this song. Great song , if Jackon Browne hadn"t created it my friend would not have known it. I miss REAL creativity, not just some body using electronic reproductions or music that with enough manipulation it could be anybody doing it A song that stands the test of time sounds like these great artist.

  61. k.... ....

    잘듣는곡이지만 사실 모르기때문에 더 잘듣는거같습니다 . 🍅🍅❤

  62. H.... H....

i just learned this was the last played song on "Curry en Van Inkel", a radioshow on fridaynight on Dutch radio "Hilversum3". back in the eighties. i didnt recognize it untill i heared the chorus (singing,"oh wont you stay just a little bit longer")
    great tune😁

  63. A.... t....

I dreamed this song last night about the time I went with WHO to Africa 20 YEARS ago. FYI World Health Organization.

  64. G.... D....

une de mes vidéos préférées .... j'adore this song !

  65. J.... ....

This songs reminds me of my father. I wish he could have stayed just a few days longer.

  66. H.... i....

The realness of this song is impeccable. This is how they feel. They play music because they like it. Love it. This song captures it wonderfully. I love Jackson for just this reason. Great clip.

  67. G.... M....

Life is hard , but when you hear an artist like this. .. Life is beautiful!!!

  68. B.... L....

Classic Song......brings back lots of memories...

It was the early eighties and my wife and I had two young children. When they woke in the night,my wife was too tired to get up so I would rise and go pick up our child and place he or her on my shoulder with a blanket to shield use from the cold. This album was on the record player. I would turn it on and place the needle on the first song and together we would slowly dance until the side finished. Our baby was asleep and nearly me too. My wife died five years ago and when I hear this song I think of her, my children and let my eyes shine wet.

    R.... R....

Sorry for your loss my friend. I have recently lost my wife of 15 yrs., this past January. A great song to listen to as we reminisce about those good times with our girls.

Hola a todos alguien me puede decir el nombre del cantante de la canción crazy love es una de los 80’s

  85. B.... D....

I fell deep, deep love w/ the future father of my only child (a girl) over songs such as this.....The Eagles.....The Allman Bros. Band.....Fleetwood Mac.....Peter Frampton.........Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson.....Marshall Tucker Band.......Boz Scaggs........Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band.......& many more. 1970's = BEST MUSIC ERA EVAH!!! Sadly, my husband once I was pregnant did not choose my daughter & me. He chose to be a blatant alcoholic/adulterer. But these songs DID make us fall in love. He just wasn't ready for the responsibility of a family, which I didn't realize until after I married him. He wanted to PARTY. So he did. I learned from it....moved on....& still ADORE these songs. God bless ya'll!

The love of my life Roger introduced me to Jackson Browne in 1979 , it is 29.10.19 and like all the others
writing comments, I have adored his music , David Lindsey is just incredibly multitalented maestro,
My Soulmate is with another , so listening to Jackson sing really pains me but I keep listening the pain is
a reminder to what I thought would be with me forever. I thought he would Stay just a little bit longer .
