Brian Wilson - Forever Lyrics
[Bess:]
Baby I'm sad
I feel you inside every time
I breathe
When I kissed your mouth
You made me feel strong.
You were my life from that first kiss
I knew you better than I knew myself
But I thought we had Forever, baby
I'd always be the one you needed
Goodbyes came to fast
Precious moments last
You were the only one
Last Forever
[Houdini:]
Baby I miss you too
I spent my life trying
To capture a dream
When I touched your face
I burned with desire
Though our souls are worlds apart
You're living in my heart
[Both:]
But I thought we had Forever, baby
I'd always be the one you needed
Goodbyes came to fast
Precious moments last
You were the only one
The one who could have made it
Last Forever
[Both:]
But I thought we had Forever, baby
I'd always be the one you needed
Goodbyes came to fast
Precious moments last
You were the only one
The one who could have made it
Last Forever
[Bess:]
My heart beats to the memory of you
[Both:]
Love is the only thing that's true
But I thought we had Forever, baby
I'd always be the one you needed
Goodbyes came to fast
Precious moments last
You were the only one
The one who could have made it
Last Forever
Together we will make it last Forever
Together we will make it last Forever

Brian Wilson Forever Comments
Also that 8 or 9 out of 10 ppl under the age of say 35-40 think that John Stamos wrote this.
Blows John Stamos the fuck away....and yes i dig his cover....just not his lips on Mike Love's bragging ass.
It's so sad to see Brian singing, both brothers died before the millennium
Dennis' song. Beautifully done in memory of little brother.
This was a real treat. Thanks for sharing
I began surfing in Santa Cruz in 67 ... (I was only 9) Dennis was my hero. I even bought my shirts because I would see him wearing one like it. My only regret about the beach boys is that Dennis didn't get the opportunity to do more of his own music.... like Brian,.. Dennis was really an artist ahead of his time, that just happened to be "IN" the beach boys.
❤💙❤💙❤💙❤💙
Does anyone know when this audio was recorded? I'm guessing late 90's...early 2000's?
Brian misses his brothers so much.
Papa brian took care of all
mark adamski except when he couldn’t, in which case-EVERY TIME, Carl did. With quiet, unsung dignity, grace and no desire for/ expectation of gratitude or recognition.
GOOD ole brian
Wow fuckin amazing
Brian singing this just makes the song so much more emotinal with it being his brothers song. I teared up listening to the original, and then this version actually did it for me and now I'm tearing up. RIP Dennis Wilson
I'm crying
I think it's great that all 3 brothers sang this wonderful song separately. It sounds the same but different for each one of them. They all sing a good one!
Beautiful Souls! Beach Boys Will Live Forever ❤️
sorry,,dennis did
he wrote it
No... Dennis wrote it.
I was in Biloxi this past December 4 (Dennis' birthday) and Brian sang Forever in his memory. Sounded just as great as this. RIP Dennis.
I was also at that concert. It was a great moment.
Brian's the man! Sick song - amazing version!! RIP Dennis. Beach Boys Forever!
Slow songs are nefariously difficult to get right! Thanks Brian! Lovely version.
my favorite song.......Dennis wrote it....sang it.....owned it. Brian brings it back to life with sheer genius and beauty
I find it ironic that Brian sounds a lot like Dennis when he sings this song as opposed to earlier works when Brian still had his falsetto.
Jarrod Castillo the irony is just as Dennis lost his voice due to drugs Brian also lost his ability to sing falsetto
@james stephenson Yup, its sucks... Honestly I think even though the drugs and alcohol destroyed Brian's ability to sing falsetto. I think if Brian hadn't lost that falsetto.. We may have had it a little longer but by now he wouldn't havr it anymore at his age.. Same thing happened to Bill Withers.. When he had inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame usually the inductees perform... Bill Withers was unable to i believe.. Also I dont know if you ever saw the video of Dennis singin "You Are So Beautiful"...its soo rough and bad... Hard to watch... I believe it was the last time he was taped before he died.
beautiful, god bless brian, dennis, and carl. x
@Bonnie Bella
Mike Love only had Brian's best intentions at heart. He really is a good guy!!
are you Mike Love? only Mike Love would think that
@David James
In Mike Love we trust - and always will do. Yes, Brian was the Chairman of the board, but Mike Love is the new MD.
@policemanandrew
mike love is cool in a lot of ways.. but he doesn't have the beautiful voice any of his three cousins had
Oh My God, Bonnie! I realize this comment is now 3 years old, but it, and your various replies here are so great! SO GREAT! THEY'RE GREAT!!
duh , brian is singing a tribute to his brother , have some compassion , fuckin yanks
I'm guessing he means a song written by Carl, like Feel Flows, and not just one that he sang lead on.
Brian did Dennis sooooo proud on this one. I know your smiling Denny!
forever dennis wilson.......
Better for him to have "yes men" then the "No men" he had in the Beach Boys for all those years
True, a large part of Brian's 'breakdown' had to do with the lack of support he got from his family (the entire band, but mostly Mike and Al) for his change in musical philosophy from "Fun Fun Fun" to "Pet Sounds". I'm sure he was devastated by the criticism of Mike and Murry (his dad).
Well put and moving. Denny got good, didn't he?
They did! With the live band on stage backing Dennis singing Forever in a video on screen! They also did God Only Knows with Carl on screen and the live band on stage backing him up!
so sweet singing his brother's song
I think some of his problems has to do with all the yes-people surrounding him. He still isn't OK that's clear. But anyway, awesome singing here.
Yes, it does. Thank you for this wonderful comment
Brian does a nice job here. He also does a very nice version of this song as a duo with Carnie.
yeeeah i know it was awesiome i saw the video major love for Brian, Dennis, Carl, Aundree and Murry Wilson :)
The Beach Boys did do it in the 50th anniversary shows. The Boys and the band provided live backing to a video of Dennis doing the vocals. Beautiful. Perfect.
well, i was happy attending a concert without a tele screen on this years reunion tour, i didn't see the forever tribute, the song wasn't played sadly, but i got to see brian singing carls god only knows there live instead of the carl video version.
I was filming the event at Wembley and I have to tell you this song every single show makes me choke up a little. We followed them around the globe, and at 21.. I can't say their was an event before that has touched my heart the same way. Cheers mate.
i had a lump in my throat when i saw them in 87 at wembley and in 89 and 93 and at wembley on the 28th .2012. so i no how you feel and im 50yrs old ..
I always cry during this song(: I downloaded this song onto my ipod and every night I listen to it and fall asleep listening to these wonderful voices. And I may sound crazy but sometimes I can feel as if Dennis is standing beside me and is smiling cause he can see how much this song can mean to just one person<3 I love this song, the Beach Boys and just everything that has to do with them.(': Very touching song that I just cant live without.
Just within the first few seconds of hearing the music not even the lyrics have tears come and I know Dennis is definitely smiling right now as he watches them play this song as a tribute towards him. And Carl is smiling right beside Dennis cause of both tributes and it's just so heartful and I cant help but cry.
I think it must put a smile on Carl's face hearing Brian's "lay down burden"
Saw the Beach Boys in Lake Tahoe last weekend. Brian sang this song and they showed video and pics of Dennis. It was so touching I was choking up. So glad I went.
Beautiful tribute to Dennis :-)
I just saw the concert in Virginia Beach on Tuesday. Loved it! And I liked the way they approached this song and God Only Knows. So glad I had the opportunity to see such a great group. :)
I was just at Saratoga for a show of the Beach Boys. Brian didn't sing it but they showed a video of Dennis singing it with the band backing him up. It was really nice! Show was awesome in general!
I totally agree. This song has always had a special place in my heart and thinking what could have been..I saw the boys last night and they played tribute to both brothers, playing this on the screen, while harmonizing to it. Tears to my eyes again. They still got it!
This song is so beautiful, brings tear in my eyes! RIP Dennis and Carl!
Happy Birthday Brian~
they played a recording of dennis on vocals while doing the instrumentals when I saw them 5 days ago
Amazing Dennis would totally love Brian's cover
I heard it last night live in Tucson...with Denny singing... Mind Blown!
@BrandinTolmanTV he did a good job though....I think he did that because he wanted to show his dad on how much he love him.
i think summer is the beachboys some one should make a movie using there songs with a sixties feel good of young love the blue print of life thankyou brian for your endless classics the tide will never wash away your footprints
@fasterthanbolt yeah too bad Dennis wrote and sang lead on this song
What a stupid comment
Brian is a fucking genius
Will be great if The Beach Boys did this song on the new tour, and sing also the song Heaven from Carl.
I wish the Beach boys in their 50th anniversary show sung this song in memory of Dennis Wilson but it could only being sung by Brian Wilson ONLY!!! since Dennis had alot of love and admiration for his older brother
@sgtBilko75 Odds are they will perform the song they sang lead on like Marcella, God Only Knows, Darlin', Friends, I Can Hear Music, and Forever. Plus, I heard that John Stamos has been invited to tour with them, so they'll probably have him sing Forever in Dennis' honor and tribute. I would like for them to perform other Denny compositions like Got To Know The Woman, Be Still, Little Bird, Be With Me, Cuddle Up and/or Only With You, but we shall see.
Stamos sucks at singing it
@MrDirtybear agree mostly but in cases such as the one here, Brian clearly wrote, or at least "helped" 95% of the way, to the writing
Says who? Dennis was a great songwriter in his own right. Listen to his solo albums
@BigChiefLtd1 If Brian actually does rejoin his cousin on stage next year for some putative 'reunion' of The Beach Boys then the price of admission that Mike Love should have to accept is that The Beach Boys as presently constituted do a tribute to Carl and Dennis, by performing songs they wrote, for The Beach Boys, and solo.... ....and name checking them properly.
(Slip On Through aside) I bet Brian is beating himself up over this one... he penned all the greats', but this one got away... Dennis had the best teacher though...
These guys (yes, all of 'em) were in a different class/ball-park/plain to everybody else - as they always will be (McCartney excused).
Thank you for putting this up. I know Brian is writing less himself nowadays, and singing Gershwin etc, I wonder if ever making an album of songs written by Carl and/or Dennis would ever appeal to him? Or maybe giving over a segment of his live show to his brothers' songs, even? They could be solo material or group performed.... it would highlight the songwriting aspect of The Beach Boys, and would be worth doing...
I never heard this one before, thanks for posting
Absolute gold!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!!! I can seriously imagine Dennis being beside himself with joy that his big brother (& hero) sang his song
Dennis and Brian sounded so much alike
