Ever since 1972....a million years ago, I always thought this was about a love he ‘d lost, a woman who’d broken his heart, but he wanted in his life again. Not long ago, I watched David Gates say In an interview that he wrote it about his late father. Still a pretty song but kind of changed the dynamic for me.

I was a boy when the singing so g writer era was in full bloom. . I like the era because the songs were personal yet universal . This was my favorite song from Bread . It's always interesting looking back on music I liked as a child. As a child you don't know life so these songs are either catchy to your ears or not. Than life ones along and you realize it's joy and sorrow because that is the theme of the living. Still listening in 2019 I was just 8 when this came out but we did have a little record player and Bread was one we use to play alot .

Write something constructive (or not as in these headings).Wonderful track by a great group played this for my wife Beth at her funeral service who died 8 years ago last March always missed by me and our two son's and daughter in law's. .Beth would have been 59 on the 11th. of this month loved her then love her now .
