It's amazing how God package His servant in an unlikely shape, moulded by time & circumstances. It takes absolute surrender to have God's work emerge from a person we see today, singing.

Probably it's a shame for me, but i discovered Susan Boyle month ago.:( By YouTube of course. This woman fascinating me from this time. I like Depeche Mode VERY MUCH, but for me Susan's interpretation of this song is much better than DM's! This is a song from heaven!!

We always underestimate people saying he or she is only capable of only this. I always dreamed one day singing on stage, but never got suport from family. Love her voice and the song, but she really didn't need to switch the gender in the lyrics. She should do an album of Depeche Mode, Smiths, Cure, and Joy Division songs. Plus Alison Moyet's "Invisible". I also love how they slowed the tempo of the original here. Perfect except for the silly gender switch.

I was waiting for someone to mention the gender switch. I love Susan’s rendition except for the one word switch. Just because she is a woman doesn’t mean she needs to genderbend it to suit her gender. World and girl are meant to rhyme as that is what makes the lyrics flow together. Switch one word and it screws up the song. Other than that it is still very nice.

Rob - she is not off key. She is singing in half key at the beginning - a very dificult thing to do. It is quite a deliberate.
