Bowie, David - The Hearts Filthy Lesson Lyrics
(Heart's filthy lesson)
There's always the Diamond friendly
Sitting in the Laugh Motel
The Heart's filthy lesson
With her hundred miles to hell
Oh, Ramona - if there was only something between us
If there was only something between us
Other than our clothes
Something in our skies
Something in our skies
Something in our blood
Something in our skies
Paddy, Paddy
Who's been wearing Miranda's clothes?
Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Heart's filthy lesson
Falls upon deaf ears
Falls upon dead ears
(Heart's filthy lesson)
Oh Ramona, if there was only some kind of future [x2]
And these cerulean skies
Something in our skies [x2]
Something in our blood
Something in our skies
Paddy, Paddy?
Paddy oh Paddy,
I think I've lost my way
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
I'm already five years older I'm already in my grave
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
I'm already (x3)
(Heart's filthy lesson, Heart's filthy lesson)
Will you carry me?
Oh Paddy, I think I've lost my way
Paddy, what a fantastic death abyss (2)
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Tell the others
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Paddy,
What a fantastic death abyss
Tell the others
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Paddy,
what a fantasic death abyss
(Heart's filthy lesson)
It's the Heart's filthy lesson
Tell the others

1,000th like 😄
I love this era.
The children from Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall got even grittier... they needed no education but got a lesson anyway.
Love the energy in this track

"Detective"
"Detective"
*"DETECTIIIVE!!!"*
"You're looking for me."
Stephen Moss I believe it’s a quote from the movie Se7en, where that movie used this song.
Its genius. I cannot help imagine this as nearly a fourth addition to the Berlin trilogy. Like Thomas grew into his life and realises the delusion of the world again in '96

But I'm evil and I ruined it 😈
This was a very grim song in Se7en
Dude all of se7en was grim so it fit perfectly
Still a favourite!!!
wayward pines
Best version.
Kevin Spacey as John Doe
Garson sprinkles his inimitable magic on this track as a counterpoint to the driving bass/drums.
I was a 90's kid so this is easily my favorite Bowie song and album. Trent Reznor also did a very good mix of this track. "I'm Afraid of Americans" was also a great collaboration between Reznor and Bowie.

Somehow I missed this album when it was released. I was living in LA then and had lost track of a few years in time. Went to see Bowie Is and saw/heard Hello Spaceboy for the first time. Had to get the CD there on my way out. LOVE it. Couldn't get Outside out of my head yesterday. "It's happening now. Not tomorrow. " This track also.
best song on this album
Ehh, I think Small Plot of Land is better.
