after jersey tour and everyone took seperate planes home and didnt talk to each other for s long time. the box set was great even the old one we rule the night. good or not so good songs id love to hear the whole vault but dont know if theres more or if they cleaned it out. anylne know?

@bigpuffycake yes the song was on the box set which was released in 2004 but the box set was demos and songs from the bon Jovi vault through out the years

I think Jon wrote this song around the time when he released his first solo album. In the insight to this song (on the inner booklet of the box set), he said that it was written "at a very difficult time for him... where [he] was looking inward and questioning what it was that was going to motivate him to make another album... It was after New Jersey when the burn out settled in." Sorry for the long comment, but I hope this tidbit helps for those wondering when the song was written.
