Bon Jovi, Jon - August 7, 4:15 Lyrics

[This song is dedicated to the memory of Katherine Korzilius.]
[Sometimes God calls His angels ... too soon.]

Ah...
It was another day
Perfect Texas afternoon
Mother and two children play
The way they always do
As they raced home from the mailbox
A mother and her son
Against a little girl of six years old
The independent one

Ah...
The deputies went door to door through all the neighborhood
They said I got some news to tell you folks
I'm afraid it ain't so good
Somehow something happened
Someone got away
Someone got the answers for what happened here today
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no

Tell me it was just a dream - August 7, 4:15
God closed His eyes and the world got mean - August 7, 4:15

Now the people from the papers
And the local TV news tried to find the reason
Cop dogs sniffed around for clues
Someone shouted "Hit and run"
The coroner cried "Foul"
Her blue dress was what she wore
The day they laid her body down
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no

Tell me it was just a dream - August 7, 4:15
God closed His eyes and the world got mean - August 7, 4:15
No...

[Guitar solo]

I know tonight that there's an angel up on Heaven's highest hill
And no one there can hurt you baby, no one ever will
Somewhere someone's conscience is like a burning bed
The flames are all around you
How you gonna sleep again ?
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no

Tell me it was just a dream - August 7, 4:15
God closed His eyes and the world got mean - August 7, 4:15

Tell me it was just a dream - August 7, 4:15
God closed His eyes and the world got mean - August 7, 4:15
[ 4:15 to fade ]

She'd be 21, today. Earlier I posted that at August 7, 4:15. Amazing that they still can't figure out how that happened Happy 15th anniversary of August 7 4:15

It wasn't until I saw this story on Unsolved Mysteries that I learned of this tragedy. I pray for the Korzilius family that they find the answers that they deserve to know about their daughter's senseless passing. Very sad.

Uno dei brani più belli di Jon Bon Jovi.... purtroppo non molto conosciuto dal grande pubblico. Grande Jon!!!

The case still remains unsolved all these years later, and as much as I don't like it, barring a confession it will likely remain unsolved for all time.

    T.... K....

Im still going with the simplest explanation that she was holding onto the back of the car. She either lost her grip due to a fractured finger or it was too hot. She was found the way the mother drove home.

    T.... K....

@namsnoodle I don't know much about her personality. However I have never heard of or known about a 6 year old girl jumping onto the back of a hot, moving car. Plus if she had fallen, wouldn't her head have been facing the curb as opposed to facing into the street? I do enjoy hearing others opinions about this

    T.... K....

@Adam Swenson Its hard to tell for sure. Investigators would have been able to tell for sure regarding how she would have been facing had she in fact fallen from the moving car. I think about this case from time to time and try to figure out other theories or possibilities but can't ever understand the abduction theory. But its not out of the realm of possibility, I just think the easiest explanation may sometimes be the most likely scenario in some situations.

    T.... K....

@namsnoodle Definitely an interesting case. Many theories are possible but all have problems. I just saw this on Unsolved Mysteries the other day and can't stop thinking about it. The way I picture the abduction theory is she was thrown in the back seat, but was able to unlock the door and jump out. What I wouldn't give for a time machine to go back and see what really happened

    T.... K....

@Adam Swenson Oh I know, and believe me, even though I believe she fell off from her mom's vehicle, there's still that "What if" factor and you make a good point. If she was abducted, unlocked door to get out of a car that was going fast so no one can identify their potential identity, then yes she very well could have landed on the ground so hard it knocked unconscious and caused internal injuries that led to her death. I still believe she fell off her mom's vehicle, but you just never know. Ive seen on internet forums where people have made theories that the mother did it, crazy shit.

  14. R.... ....

sounds like keep on rocking in the free world

  15. T.... ....

I had never known the story behind the song even though I've heard the album a few times. It wasn't until the Unsolved Mysteries episode came on tv, that I fully found out the meaning behind the song.

  16. k.... l....

Just seen unsolved mysteries rerun with updates about this songs origins. So sad was hoping that the family would have some answers by now, can't imagine the torment of not mowing how your child died. So sad, poor little girl.😢

  17. S.... N....

    Mitico Bongiovanni

  18. c.... ....

To fast for such subject matter. Especially since it a true story. The acoustic version is more appropriate.

  19. A.... F....

Today is August 7, 20 years after the album was released... still a great tune.

    A.... F....

Fucked up tale behind the song too

  20. T.... C....

I saw this case on Unsolved Mysteries several years ago. Katherine was about my age and her death has been one of the cases from the show that I really hope they'd find out what happened. Hopefully someone says something one day. I find it hard to believe the perpetrator hasn't confided to someone in these past 21 years. Rip Katherine & I hope her family gets answers

  21. t.... ....

The chorus at the end appeals to my orthodox soul; there's something very beautiful and sad about it... <3

  22. J.... X....

    Охуенный трек!!!!

  23. M.... ....

This is way too catchy, considering the subject matter.

    M.... ....

    True that

    M.... ....

Regarding that it's similar to The Boomtownrats' "I Don't Like Mondays".

  24. s.... p....

hope they find who did it.

  25. L.... M....

Korzilius was his manager and his daughter was murdered one year before the release
    of the album.

  26. T.... K....

Korzilius wasn't just his manager. Jon Bon Jovi was like an uncle to the girl. This song is like Trace Adkins "Welcome To Hell". It's a song so personal to the performer that he never made a music video despite it's enormous popularity.

  27. C.... B....

I thought I had to listen to this song today August 7 to show my support for the little girl

  28. e.... ....

I didn't much like "Destination Anywhere." It was an ok, but not great CD.

But that said, he saved this best song for last. This is my favorite song on this mediocre CD, and it rocks! (Even if it is a sad song.)

    e.... ....

Not mediocre at all. Just a different level, feel and maturity. <3

  29. C.... R....

@bwolfe1980 Yeah. And Jon only wrote the song because Paul Korzilius was his tour manager at the time, or something.

  30. T.... H....

its a truce song about a girl on unsolved mystries type in Katherine Korzilius Part 1.avi on youtube and you will find out

  31. i.... ....

I love this song! thanks for posting.
