He's a rich guy who doesn't have to struggle, and if a man isn't fighting the system anymore its because he's joined it dude. You probably don't have a clue what I mean.

This is a really good mix, but it's a shame it cuts some of the best lines from the song. The parts on Jesus' forgiveness and unborn children are incredibly powerful parts.

What a great song ! And this remix arrangement brings the song up to date dramatically. The message remains current, and most appropriate today.
Here I copy a few lines from the wiki page for the song. On January 17, 1961, President Dwight D. Eisenhower gave his farewell address from the Oval Office. In this speech, he warned that "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex." In an interview, published in USA Today on September 10, 2001 Dylan linked his song to Eisenhower's speech, saying:

Masters of War"… is supposed to be a pacifistic song against war. It's not an anti-war song. It's speaking against what Eisenhower was calling a military-industrial complex as he was making his exit from the presidency. That spirit was in the air, and I picked it up.

This was a brilliant anti war folk song. WTF? I listened to this as a teenager. Going electric ok but the rest was awful!

@Corvette Dude I really mean no offence, but according to US Veteran's Network, only in the first two months of this month 1167 American soldiers committed suicide. Would you be " proud " of that too? And here is what depresses me the most: It seems that the life of a soldier is only worth something after he is dead. Until then, everybody is just " proud" of him or her, which is the easiest and most superficial thing to be.



Because it certainly involves a self interest and it doesn't require any effort, any further thinking, any risk or questioning at all. Frankly, I find it maddening. I have read the following comment by a veteran the other day, under a speech on youtube about how to treat soldiers after they come back from war. What he says is very true and absolutely heart breaking:

" As a vet myself, I'd like to make it clear that the only duty a civilian has to us, is to influence their politicians and leaders into making sure that those who do serve do not end up dying for the wrong reasons. If our war is abroad yours is surely at home, making sure we aren't being thrown to the fire for nothing. -Thank you"
