Black Eyed Peas - Joints & Jam Lyrics

Yeah...a chick-a-doom, chick-a-doom chick-a-doom

[CHORUS]
That's the joint, that's the jam
Turn that shit up, play it again [3x]

[Will I Am]
I like the way the rhythm makes me jump and move
It gots the feelin' that makes me wanna do my do
Got me feelin' joy, turn my grey sky blue
And when you hear a cut baby doll I know you
Will feel it huh? Get up on the floor start movin' some
Body parts that got brothers actin' dumb
And they be actin' dumb from the cut that playin'
People break they neck from this demonstration
We about mass appeal, no segregation
Got Black to Asian and Caucasian sayin'...

[CHORUS (2x)]

[Apldap]
Let your body collide to the rhythm provided
By the mind state affairs classified and make your
Heat up and flare I swear
A serenade, a soul and so beware
And what's happenin' here, seek one to help you
Feelin' a piece of mind, let your spine unwind
Maybe in time you can stop this crime
But until then, yo I'm-a rock a rhyme sayin'...

[CHORUS (2x)]

[BRIDGE]
It's the jam, it's the jam, it's the jam, it's the jam
It's got groove it's got feelin'
(a chick-a-doom, a chick-a-doom chick-a-doom doom)
It's the jam, it's the jam, it's the jam, it's the jam
It's got groove it's got meanin'
(a chick-a-doom, a chick-a-doom chick-a-doom doom)

[Taboo]
Got the state's appeal with the joint's that real
I don't need no steel to make my point
Get down and dirty cuz that's my joint
Ha! We preferably make all points
Through a nation we build off the musical field
Or a visual thrill, we do what we feel
Any time or place, on stage in ya face
Over tea in Earth and outer space

[Will I Am]
Because we rock that *shit*, we flip that *shit*
Some east coast west coast cosmic *shit*
Some north bound *shit*, some some south bound *shit*
Some overseas London out of town *shit*
Rockin' the joint, rockin' the jams
Turn that shit up, play it again cuz...

[CHORUS (3x)]

[BRIDGE (1x) to fade out]

Black Eyed Peas Joints & Jam Comments
  1. C.... ....

Kim Hill😍🔥 gorgeous, talented, and an intellectual.

  2. r.... ....

Here after that black ladies documentary.

    r.... ....

    riccccccardo *Kim Hill lol

  3. l.... ....

I’m here from the New York Time doc

  4. L.... ....

Mad props to KIM HILL she was way more talented than fergie but I guess looks and sampling the fuck off other peoples music is what's sells plus during this time when this song came out on MTV taboo was introduced as having Thai heritage and as it turns out none of that was true I guess lying about one HERITAGE was a attempt to seem more exotic well I have lost all respect for these sellouts that I used to consider artists!

    L.... ....

Kim Hill herself there is NO bad blood between her and Fergie. Just that Fergie could fill a more sexual role than she could bring herself too. Don't hate on one woman to bring another up.

  5. D.... G....

Back when they weren't sell outs but I prefer the words uncle Tom. Music used 2 b real music and had good vibes until now. They will never get it back. Real talk.

  6. D.... M....

The last part is my fave

  7. i.... g....

    Musicota papá

  8. D.... ....

    Love This Tune!!

  9. N.... N....

I'm liking black eyed peas before where's the love. What they created after is still awesome and amazing . I'm not hating.😗

  10. L.... C....

Pure Classic!! I always wondered. Who is the band at the end playing while they danced?

  11. T.... ....

REAL Black eyed peas .. before shit

  12. s.... ....

This is probably what current Black eyed Peas music sounds to Will I AM. Just delusional about what he puts out. I can forgive the break-dancing not having continued to these days, they're pretty old dudes, likely a lack of practice mixed with middle-age there.

But the big issue? The two guys unfortunately known to me as "the two guys from Black Eyed Peas who aren't Will i am, or fergie. Those two yeah; they've benefited most depending on how they've interpreted success. If they're like "Hey man we get paid (whatever percentage they have worked out) and we barely have to do anything! Enabling Will and Fergie to do whatever without messing the formula up to much when they're in songs.

    OR

"Hey man we get paid (whatever percentage they have worked out) and we barely have to do... anything... Our lives are jokes."

I sincerely hope it's the former, otherwise all that would follow them around is false smiles and regrets.

  13. e.... ....

Anyone have a link to the other version of the video where the beat changes during the breakdance.?
I think it was falling Up

  14. R.... L....

They still made good song after the huge popularity they got, its just they kind of sold out. furgie got them over among whites and latino audience. oh well. wish they would have fought more for their music

    R.... L....

Raphial Lee You know Taboo is half Mexican right? Hell, Fergie is only a quarter, and I'm pretty sure it's white Mexican too.

  15. b.... ....

Ferg put them over the "hump" and made them go pop. The money was great....although I'm happy for there success, I was no longer interested in their music due to not being a fan of this "New Style" of hip hop/Pop

  16. N.... J....

Disturbing to know that the band that performed this awesome song also sung "My Humps."

    N.... J....

    Amazing and hi

    N.... J....

Hi is this Ur favourite band

    N.... J....

    What is your favourite band

  17. A.... A....

    this is awesome

  18. J.... S....

they don't even breakdance no more. smh

  19. J.... A....

when i listen to this i say DAM this is amazing...what the fuck happened to them? Oh yeah they got Fergie and sold the fuck out out. Oh well ...

  20. m.... ....

    wow this is actually good

  21. J.... H....

what the hell is this shit band??

  22. C.... L....

This is and always was the only Black Eyed Peas I recognize. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a song better than this one.

  23. D.... ....

this is the black eye peas i know not that bullshit now, fucking fergie made them soft

  24. c.... ....

Saw them at warped tour back in 99. First two albums jam, Fergie gets in.... haven't bought another album.

  25. R.... B....

Was J Dilla involved in this album? Sounds like something he'd kind of do. Or like Quest-ish feel.

  26. D.... J....

    love it

  27. c.... ....

This "is not" the original version that use to be out here a few years ago.  The original had the guys dancing to an "unplugged" jam session with the backing group seen towards the end of the video.  Additionally, the all rapped a chorus to the verse of "We're falling up, dog..."  Man I miss the "pre millineum" peas...  "THAT GROUP" had groove....  :-(

    c.... ....

This version came in compiled Behind the Bridge to Elephunk, miss the old BEP. :'(

    c.... ....

@cyberpsych1 Spot on! I watched that instrumental bit over and over again. It was perfect - definitely a sample off a Barry White song. The old mv was perfect. Oh well, I'm off to watch “the weekend“ to see if Taboo still got the front.

  28. W.... ....

back when they were the joint

  29. L.... ....

most they fans dont know the best music they done was before fergie joined the group

    L.... ....

Yes sir! I wore this album out back in the day. Before Fergie they were about music and not about publicity. I loved them back then.

    L.... ....

even the debut album the one before this one was they best shit also to me

    L.... ....

@*****  not bad bust just a total different group before fergie was more on the traditonal hip hop sound before her with her it was more techno no euro rap

  30. t.... ....

...back when they were true.....    truer anyway..... sigh

  31. H.... T....

very tribe-esque now they're a bunch of fuck boys (and girl)

  32. T.... ....

The lady @ 1:30 is Kim Hill. She left the Black Eyed Peas in 2000 due to creative differences. She released a few solo albums and then went on to create independent music as a DJ.

  33. J.... B....

Fergie is the Yoko Ono of the Black Eyed Peas. I forgot they were a REAL hip hop band at one point.

    J.... B....

hahahahaha such a good statement. Elephunk wasnt that bad though.

  34. N.... ....

Too bad this group sold out

  35. N.... ....

Girl in the video is Kim Hill.

  36. N.... ....

I dont like Black Eyed Peas, btu I found this and it is just better than their new stuff. It isn't amazingly so, but it's better.

  37. N.... ....

    this is jammmmarific

  38. a.... ....

who is she @ 1:30 mark? i always knew it was someone before fergie

  39. y.... y....

Love Til the End of Time!

  40. M.... ....

Some "genius" figured it would be cool to have "experts" write music for them. You know "Ima Bee" was written by nine music "experts?" Retards, all of them. REAL talent is right here in front of them and they couldn't even see it for what it was. Unfortunately, neither could Black Eyed Peas either, apparently.

  41. w.... h....

ya know, before they hired that white girl.....they where pretty good

    w.... h....

    william hegarty all facts 😂

  42. K.... ....

Wish this song was little bit longer

  43. L.... ....

    you have bad taste.

  44. B.... ....

For year's I've been wondering if I just made that up... cuz I remembered hearing it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Now I know I'm not crazy. Thank you for that comment!

    B.... ....

Me too. I thought I heard it on MTV in the 90s before they sold out too. I'm so grateful for YouTube

  45. M.... ....

    WTF HAPPENED

  46. t.... ....

thank yoouuuu.... pharoahe monch had tons of opportunities to sell out but chose otherwise. im glad he didn't sell out too.

  47. s.... ....

Financial success and skill are not the same thing. Just because something moves more units doesn't mean it's better.

  48. s.... ....

Well, it's true that the groups/people I mentioned never achieved the immediate success of the former. The Roots were certified platinum in April 2013 and have a global fanbase. Del and Monch have a huge global fanbase.
More importantly, these are artists that are skilled and create a craft. I would argue that those I mentioned actually have a larger fanbase globally and longevity that Wayne and Minaj will not achieve.

  49. s.... ....

And then look at The Roots, Pharaohe Monch, Del... they never changed their art for profit. They never sold out.

  50. s.... ....

As I stated... is that not selling out? To dramatically change your sound and put a more popular/acceptable face in the front to move units?

  51. F.... N....

first time Ive sene this video! Have been listining to this song for yearss

  52. s.... ....

They put a white woman in front of them and then sold platinum albums... how is that not the definition of selling out? Becoming the back-up of your own group?

  53. j.... ....

This video is clearly way before its time.

  54. 1.... ....

This real and we they added Fergie they went for bucks and fucks...

  55. T.... C....

    Too bad BEP sold out.

  56. J.... ....

This shit reminds me of The Pharcyde- Drop

  57. K.... ....

This is old skool Black Eyed Peas before they sold out....

  58. L.... ....

This is the Black Eyed Peas I feel in music with!

  59. c.... ....

We about mass appeal, no segregation, got Black to Asian and Caucasian sayin' that's the joint....

  60. C.... C....

THIS is the Black Eyed Peas that I like--none of the stupid and crappy noise-shit that's going on now with Fergie and every-damn-body else.

  61. s.... ....

    THIS MY JAM.

  62. N.... k....

LOL SOME OF US KNEW BUT I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEANT

  63. E.... ....

hahahaha that is some racist bs.

  64. -.... X....

a true hip hop group turned bubble gum pop.....such a damn shame. thanks alot fergie.

  65. a.... l....

Now the other 2 say nothing... so sad to see a amazing old skool band go popy...

  66. P.... C....

    before they got wack..

  67. o.... w....

proper peas, Saturday to the roast, even helps to work on a Monday, ready too the next week end!!

  68. A.... K....

32k for this but hundreds of millions for their bullshit music. This is before white people knew who they were.

  69. A.... F....

    I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!

  70. J.... ....

    their best tune to me.

  71. S.... ....

when black eyed peas were good :)

  72. D.... N....

exactly, but same story for too many bands that use to be awesome

  73. s.... ....

this songs never gets old, man i remember when i got my first car, this was my first song i played!...lol

  74. X.... G....

Anyone else notice that the part the chick sings is a sample from Grease? How strange yet awesome is that lol.

  75. D.... G....

    >musical talents

You go listen to Screan and Shout and tell me that he still has any "talent".

  76. a.... ....

    i miss THIS 'Peas

  77. 0.... ....

Paulinho da Costa - Love Till The End Of Time

  78. j.... h....

they should never have brought that DEVIL in the group. now thier shit sucks. this is their best joint up 2 date

  79. T.... ....

I just got an add for will.I.am and Britney Spears. Fucking disappointment.

  80. .... ....

Haha no problem Bro. Glad to of helped!

  81. .... ....

It's called, 'Black Eyed Peas - Fallin' Up (Remix)'.

A Youtuber called 'B Hood' has the whole song uploaded.

  82. M.... ....

you just totally saved my day man! THANKS A LOT!!!!! Thanks man thanks!! thank you!

  83. .... ....

The song at the end is called, 'Black Eyed Peas - Fallin' Up (Remix)'.

Someone has posted a full length version of the song here on Youtube.

  84. M.... ....

WHERE THE FUCK is the video?? I need to hear the beat where the dance!! Oh and by the way, is that beat released anywhere?? thanks!

  85. k.... ....

i was so disappointed knowing BEP from my younger years and seeing them transform to POP, but money is a helluva drug;))

  86. D.... ....

But that's exactly the definition of a sell out. You drop your original style, beliefs, course of actions, or other things to appease others who don't like it or normally do those things. Versatility aside, it's so easy to make hits that drunk kids can jump straight up and down to. They're stuff now is so "dumbed down" that EVERYONE can listen. I blame the record label and fergie for tearin up their sound. Monkey Business and Elephunk were their last good albums in my opinion.

  87. J.... C....

They was about to die as hip hop , so they had a successful pop song , so they went that route.. now will is the producer and he in the k pop type mode now. So they didnt sell out or anything .. , they focus on making positive music. Thats it regardless of genre.. i think they are versatile.

  88. k.... ....

apparently they kept pissin them off lol :/

  89. p.... ....

one thing i cant understand.. these can really dance , but this is the clip i ever seen them do it .. why ?

  90. p.... ....

    before they sold out !

  91. X.... G....

KOS recently sold out too...it's embarassing francly...

  92. W.... M....

Wheres Fergie? I had no ideal there were somebody before her

  93. X.... ....

Good question. She can definitely sing.

  94. t.... ....

Anyone got a Link to the ORIGINAL Video where they change the music during the dancing at the end??

  95. m.... ....

Will.I.Am's Scream & Shout ft Britney Spears was suggested for me (Idk why) so I watched a few minutes of that video. I quickly had to turn to this just to get that horrible taste out of my mouth. Not blaming Fergie for the change because I still liked them for a while with her. It's all this techno, futuristic robot crap that I hate! And it's not just them. RIP HipHop

  96. s.... ....

So many fucking hipsters on these videos, they didn't stay true? the fuck you talking about, if someone approached you and said ''hey want International acclaim, double platinum albums and millions of dollars'' you would say no, sure this music is good and probably better but their new shit isn't that bad, songs like I gotta feeling and meet me halfway are awesome, you're just to cool to admit it.

  97. S.... G....

black eyed peas before they sold out :(
    good times....
