This is probably what current Black eyed Peas music sounds to Will I AM. Just delusional about what he puts out. I can forgive the break-dancing not having continued to these days, they're pretty old dudes, likely a lack of practice mixed with middle-age there.

But the big issue? The two guys unfortunately known to me as "the two guys from Black Eyed Peas who aren't Will i am, or fergie. Those two yeah; they've benefited most depending on how they've interpreted success. If they're like "Hey man we get paid (whatever percentage they have worked out) and we barely have to do anything! Enabling Will and Fergie to do whatever without messing the formula up to much when they're in songs.

OR

I sincerely hope it's the former, otherwise all that would follow them around is false smiles and regrets.

This "is not" the original version that use to be out here a few years ago.  The original had the guys dancing to an "unplugged" jam session with the backing group seen towards the end of the video.  Additionally, the all rapped a chorus to the verse of "We're falling up, dog..."  Man I miss the "pre millineum" peas...  "THAT GROUP" had groove....  :-(

This version came in compiled Behind the Bridge to Elephunk, miss the old BEP. :'(

The lady @ 1:30 is Kim Hill. She left the Black Eyed Peas in 2000 due to creative differences. She released a few solo albums and then went on to create independent music as a DJ. 

Fergie is the Yoko Ono of the Black Eyed Peas. I forgot they were a REAL hip hop band at one point.

Financial success and skill are not the same thing. Just because something moves more units doesn't mean it's better.

Well, it's true that the groups/people I mentioned never achieved the immediate success of the former. The Roots were certified platinum in April 2013 and have a global fanbase. Del and Monch have a huge global fanbase.
More importantly, these are artists that are skilled and create a craft. I would argue that those I mentioned actually have a larger fanbase globally and longevity that Wayne and Minaj will not achieve.

And then look at The Roots, Pharaohe Monch, Del... they never changed their art for profit. They never sold out.

As I stated... is that not selling out? To dramatically change your sound and put a more popular/acceptable face in the front to move units?

But that's exactly the definition of a sell out. You drop your original style, beliefs, course of actions, or other things to appease others who don't like it or normally do those things. Versatility aside, it's so easy to make hits that drunk kids can jump straight up and down to. They're stuff now is so "dumbed down" that EVERYONE can listen. I blame the record label and fergie for tearin up their sound. Monkey Business and Elephunk were their last good albums in my opinion.

They was about to die as hip hop , so they had a successful pop song , so they went that route.. now will is the producer and he in the k pop type mode now. So they didnt sell out or anything .. , they focus on making positive music. Thats it regardless of genre.. i think they are versatile.
